Good explanations! I never heard of it as the four horsemen. My husband does get defensive ..luckily that’s the only issue we have and he’s getting better at realizing it..I also occasionally mirror that defensiveness back .. and then say hey ..let’s take a break here. We’ve been married for 31 years . It’s 99% healthy..and lots of love and two wonderful daughters ..two grandsons later ..we are blessed. Thsnk you for sharing this. I Am curious..are you in a good relationship or married ..if so I’m sure your partner feels fortunate! Best ~ Lisa

Attachment theory is such an awakening to me, having been married to a guy from a very dysfunctional family. I needed this awareness and these tools 30 years ago!! Alas, they are available to me now! Thanks for this lesson!
