Welcome to this meditation calling on the elements for a restful night's sleep.
Begin by getting comfortable in your bed.
Reach your arms overhead as you point your toes.
Stretch and hold for a moment.
Releasing when it feels good for you.
Take a deep breath in and sigh out.
Do this a couple more times and find yourself in your favorite sleeping position.
Gently close your eyes.
I call on the element of earth for grounding,
To feel safe,
Secure and protective,
And to physically support my body while I lay down to rest.
I call on the element of air to sweep away any thoughts from the day.
For fresh,
Clean air in and out of my lungs,
And for deep,
Calming breaths throughout the night.
I call on the element of fire to provide the energy needed for my cells,
Organs and body systems to purify,
Digest and revitalize me while I sleep.
I call on the element of water for the continuous smooth movement of fluids in the body to ease and balance my emotions and to heal my heart.
I call on these four elements so that I may rest deeply and peacefully and wake up refreshed and energized for a new day.
And so it is.
