Welcome to Enhancing Recovery Part 2.

I'm Dr.

Lynne Brown.

Today's topic is determining what you believe about your sober future.

How you feel about work,

Play and relationships influences your beliefs about the future.

And you need to know how remaining sober is going to affect all three.

By planning,

You can determine what will happen and how you will react to it.

It's exciting to sit down and decide how you feel about the three major aspects of your life and how staying sober is going to help you achieve what you want in each of these areas.

Here is what you will need for determining what you believe about your sober future.

If you could do something else,

What would it be?

How would you like to spend your leisure time?

How will remaining sober affect how you spend your leisure time and how you feel about it?

How will members of your birth family be affected by your sobriety?

What will you do to influence members of your birth family regarding assisting you in your sobriety and accepting you being sober?

Your marital family.

In what ways,

If any,

Do members of your marital family,

Spouse,

Children,

In-laws,

Etc.

,

Affect your sobriety?

How will members of your marital family be affected by your sobriety?

What will you do to influence members of your marital family regarding assisting you in your sobriety and accepting you being sober?

Friends.

In what ways,

If any,

Do your friends affect your sobriety?

How will your friends be affected by your sobriety?

What will you do to influence your friends regarding assisting you in your sobriety and accepting you being sober?

Once you have finished this part,

Then go on.

What did you learn,

And what will you do about it?

What did you learn about your work?

What will you do about it?

What did you learn about your leisure time?

What will you do about it?

What did you learn about your birth family?

What will you do about it?

What did you learn about your marital family?

What will you do about it?

What did you learn about your friends?

What will you do about it?
