This short poem is intended to illustrate the non-duality of life on Earth as having physical form steeped in spirit. May we remember that we always have divine light within us and return to our true center after challenging experiences from which we may feel less than luminous.

"'I've wanted you for so long,

' called out the cactus to the rain.

"'And I the same,

' replied the rain.

"'My journey was far,

And I had to transform myself many times to arrive by your side.

' "'I've waited here without moving,

Only growing slowly closer to you,

' said the cactus.

At last they shared a sweet kiss.

"'Drink me in,

' said the rain,

"'and know that I am always within you,

Even as you feel the scorching sun,

Remember that we are both two and one.

'" May this simple story serve as a reminder of the divine spirit within us,

No matter how prickly or stuck we may feel at present.
