Welcome to another StressFit meditation.
The trail to the morning sun is part of the Rise and Shine series,
Exclusive to StressFit.
Love is described as the highest refinement of light because all life owes its existence to the sun.
Earth is at just the proper distance from the sun to not be scorched and not be frozen,
Perfect for the emergence of self-replicating DNA.
Every phase of cosmic evolution has been a succession of miracles.
First was the differentiation between light and void in the flaring birth of our cosmos.
The cosmic creative force emerged from seething chaos,
Subatomic particles to atoms,
Molecules,
Cells,
Multicellular beings,
Each a giant leap of becoming over billions of years to form the material world we know today.
Einstein claimed that he was most astonished by the fact of the existence of anything at all.
The force of love at the source and center of existence has called forth the universe to discover itself.
Forces weave the tapestry of our world,
Sewn together by sacred relationships.
What kind of relationship do you have with the sun?
How often have you taken the time to thank the sun for all it does?
Our relationship to the sun is often taken for granted and left in the dark.
Strengthening our relationship with the sun will have a myriad of positive effects.
Some include feeling grounded,
Feeling more in tune with nature,
Feeling deeper in your essence and overall feeling more calm and energized.
When we take a few moments in the morning to appreciate the sun,
An element that allows life to thrive,
We are programming positivity into our day.
By connecting with the sun,
We can receive loads of energy and help lift our energy levels out of low vibrational states and into blissful high vibrational states.
Today we are going to start our day by acknowledging the bountiful sun,
Contemplating some of its brilliance and harmonizing our energies while we bask in its delicious rays of light.
Good morning and welcome to this morning's meditation.
Find a comfortable position for this meditation.
Face the sun or choose to receive partial sun exposure.
Maintain eyes closed and prepare yourself to be in the sunlight for about the next 15 minutes.
If you have sensitive skin,
You may want to apply sunscreen or cover up.
Begin a comfortable straight back with hands in an open resting position on your knees or palms facing up if you wish to lay down for this practice.
Then gently turn your attention inwards and follow me.
I'll begin with a quote by Napoleon Bonaparte.
If I had to choose a religion,
The sun as the universal giver of life would be my God.
Relax into this moment and feel the warmth of the sun on your skin.
Feel the aliveness radiating from all around and within you.
Feel the morning sun nourishing your entire body.
Inhale through the nose and greet the sun with a smile and exhale through the nose,
Relaxing into this moment.
As you breathe,
Acknowledge the sun's presence in our creation.
Allow any gratitude that springs up to be circulated throughout the body.
Smile and feel the warmth and tenderness of the sunlight upon the skin.
Allow the comforting sensation of the sun to move the gratitude within all areas of the body.
If you have no direct sunlight,
Just imagine the warmth and invigorating feeling of sunlight to touch you.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Smile and feel the warmth and tenderness of the sunlight upon the skin.
Feel this energy in every cell of your being and continue smiling to the sun.
Barely any of us realize the magnitude of support surrounding us.
Were it not for the sun,
There would be no earth.
Were it not for the soil,
There would be no food.
Were it not for the trees,
There would be no air to breathe.
Everything on earth has been made possible and supported by the sun.
Breathe in and smile to the sun.
Breathe out and relax into this moment.
Our self-imposed psychological nonsense blinds us to the constant everyday blessings of life.
It's a new day and the cosmos are going about as usual.
The sun which gives us life has once again risen.
You're alive and breathing.
Everything is working properly in the universe.
For the next few moments,
Contemplate three things,
Big or small,
That you're thankful for which the sun makes possible.
As you keep these three things in mind and close to your heart,
Face the sun and express your gratitude with a smile.
Feel free to have a few words with the sun.
Don't be shy to show your gratitude in any way you want.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Allowing your breath to flow through all your muscles and into your cells,
Feel this positive,
Loving,
Supportive energy infiltrate and saturate every cell in your body.
Continue breathing in the essence of gratitude.
Feel this essence saturate every cell and keep your awareness on the three positive qualities that you appreciate from the sun.
Breathing in through the nose.
Breathing out through the nose.
Breathing in and smiling to the sun and breathing out and relaxing into this present moment.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
How different do you feel right now after having spent some time appreciating what the sun's energy provides us?
Or how different do you feel during a stroll in the forest?
Or while you picnic at a park?
Or take a moment to mindfully breathe in some fresh air?
Can you recognize nature as a healer?
For the next few moments,
Simply relax in the warmth of the sun's light.
Allow your body to recharge from this reliable source of energy.
Feel your body absorbing the light,
The life,
The source of love.
Feel your body transforming itself,
Producing a great deal of vigor and vitamin D.
Breathe and smile to the sun.
Breathe and smile to the sun.
Breathe and smile to the sun.
I'd like to end with a quote by Epictetus.
As the sun does not wait for prayers and incantations to be induced to rise,
But immediately shines and is saluted by all,
So do you also not wait for clappings of hands and shouts of praise to be induced to do good.
But be a doer of good voluntarily and you will be beloved as much as the sun.
Until next time,
Rise and shine.
