Just thinking about how to help others relieves stress,
Brings joy to our mind,
And has wonderful karmic repercussions.
When we choose to uplift others instead of focusing on ourselves,
We become part of the big mind,
Big heart,
And one love.
In this meditation,
I'm going to guide you through connecting with the heart's energy to empower yourself and extend that strength to all you come in contact with.
Find a comfortable position for this meditation.
Maintain a comfortable straight back.
Then gently close your eyes and mouth.
I'll start with a quote by Marvin J.
Ashton.
Be the one who nurtures and builds.
Be the one who has an understanding and a forgiving heart.
One who looks for the best in people.
Believe people better than you found them.
Focus your attention in the area of the heart,
Located just slightly left of the center of the chest.
Keep your attention on the heart center for the next few moments.
Begin to breathe very deeply now.
Expanding the tummy out with each inhalation and allowing the belly to naturally relax on exhalation.
Slowly draw in breath down into the abdominal region,
Breathing in slowly,
Quietly,
And deeply.
Breathing out slowly,
Quietly,
And deeply.
Now,
Visualize and feel your breath moving through your heart.
Notice how your heart swells up during inhalation and relaxes during exhalation.
Continue breathing in and out through your heart for the next few moments.
Your heart has a strong electromagnetic field which radiates throughout your body and into the space that surrounds you.
Breathing in a relaxed manner shifts your frequency to one that is more in tune to generate its own energy and share it.
When you breathe in,
Feel your body charge up with positive energy and feel this energy build more and more.
Feel it charging up like a battery.
When you breathe out,
Feel all your fear and hesitation melt away.
You can do no wrong here.
This is simply about bringing awareness into your heart space and allowing thoughts to come and go.
Bringing the energy within.
Now choose someone who you want to help in some way.
Someone you want to offer your assistance to.
Someone you wish to be able to alleviate some of their pain or struggle.
It's perfectly natural to have the desire to help someone.
Who you choose can be anyone.
Now send this individual some of the healing energy that you've generated within your heart space.
You charged your own heart not to keep it all to yourself but to allow it to expand and grow and to share it.
Send some of this energy towards encouraging the one you wish to help.
Sincerely offer an open heart and open hand to them.
If it helps,
You can imagine the other sitting in this space with you right now.
You're both sitting facing each other and breathing in unison.
Place both of your hands to touch your heart and feel the calm,
Healing energy being transferred to your hands from your heart space.
Now extend your arms towards this individual and offer your open hands and heart.
Invite them to reach out and gently hold your hands,
Receiving your harmonized,
Uplifting energy.
Perhaps they will not accept it right now.
That's okay.
Be patient.
Remain focused on offering your loving energy without an expectation.
Is an empathetic ear.
Sometimes all he or she needs is to talk it out.
Just offering a listening ear and an understanding heart for his or her suffering can be a big comfort.
Now,
I want you to gently let go of placing your awareness on this practice.
And I want you now to expand it to become aware of your whole body.
Notice of any changes that have taken place,
Whether you feel more relaxed or calm,
Possibly more energized or agitated and without judging or analyzing,
Simply become aware of how the body feels in this present moment.
By cultivating an awareness of the heart center right now with your eyes open at the same time will be a powerful practice or reestablishing present moment awareness.
Becoming aware of the breath falling in and out of your heart space will anchor you into the present moment,
Allowing you greater access to your ability to recharge and extend compassion to others in your daily life.
