Transcript
Good morning,
Everyone.
Good evening,
Good afternoon,
Wherever you are,
And happy new year.
Welcome to the Weekly Energy Boost.
We are talking this morning about starting new in 2022.
It is with me and we are so excited to launch another year of podcast episodes.
We've been doing this for 70 years now.
And no,
Seriously,
This is our first episode of 2022.
And we're excited to share with you new ways to inject new energy into old things,
And how to plant positive seeds for the coming year.
Even though on the Kabbalistic calendar,
Which is where we usually draw our wisdom from,
It is not a new year of any sort,
Actually.
But because the entire world revs its engines for the beginning of the year,
There is a collective energy that's created that makes this an opportunity to start new.
So in Kabbalah,
We learned that there are certain energetic ebbs and flows that are woven into the fabric of the universe.
And that's where we get our wisdom that we share every week with our listeners.
And then there are also humanity-caused energy flows.
And this January 1st is a great example of that.
Everybody is making new commitments,
Making plans,
Starting new.
I think one of the most powerful things we do at the end of the calendar year,
The beginning of the new one,
Is we cut ties with what happened last year.
I don't want this year to be like last year.
I want to do things differently this year.
I dissociate from what happened last year.
And I think all of us are struggling with,
I want to be optimistic,
But the forecast is gloomy because of everything that's happening in the world.
So we really want to talk this morning about how to inject the best possible consciousness to plant the most powerful seeds and to rejuvenate those parts of our lives that maybe we're not starting new,
Right?
We have family relationships.
We may be in a partnership,
A business that there's nothing new going on,
But we want to rejuvenate and reinvigorate those parts of our lives as well.
So to do that,
Of course,
Every week on the Weekly Energy Boost,
We strive to give our listeners the most powerful and practical tools to navigate the coming seven days.
This week is no different.
This year is no different.
And so on that note,
I'm going to turn the mic over to David.
Yeah.
What do you want to focus on?
I think in the midst of questions,
Topics that are in people's mind for the new year,
I think one thing that comes to mind is nothing new can start unless you let go of whatever baggage you're holding onto.
This is the time in the episode where we talk about letting go.
Every episode,
We talk about it in a different way.
So here's our moment of letting go.
We need to constantly remind you because the way that the human body is designed is to hold on.
We're afraid.
We're afraid to not own something.
We're afraid not to enjoy something.
We're afraid to feel lack.
Everyone's afraid to feel lack.
Nobody wants to feel the void.
We have an allergy to it.
So we all go into survival mode and then we hold on.
And the holding on doesn't matter how well you plan for the new year.
It doesn't matter how many commitments you make.
It doesn't matter if you've got it all figured out.
If there's no space for all these new blessings to come in,
The blessings will not come in.
So it's so important that there's a vacancy in your spiritual motel here and you got to let go.
You got to let go of what you're holding onto.
So let's just first start there.
What are you holding onto with your relationships?
What are you holding onto with your perception of yourself?
Negative beliefs?
Everyone's got negative beliefs.
It's unbelievable.
I think if all we focused on is identifying negative beliefs and removing them,
This would open up a whole new world of energies that could come into your life.
It's not that the energy doesn't want to come.
It's not that the new year of blessings doesn't want to come into your life.
It's that it can't because we have beliefs around it coming or not.
So I think that's a good place to start.
And no?
Yeah,
Absolutely.
So I'm trying to think of a couple examples of negative beliefs.
I want you to think of two of the most prominent negative beliefs that you hear.
And I'll tell you a couple.
I am not worthy.
Okay,
Be specific.
I'm not worthy.
Is this usually conscious or unconscious?
Usually unconscious.
If we're honest,
It connects on a spiritual DNA level to the birth of humanity and the origins of our existence have to do with worth and value and shame and earning.
And we talk about that from time to time.
But most of us have a latent belief,
Which I would say is it's subconscious,
That I don't deserve happiness,
Success,
Money,
Love.
We might not be blocking ourselves from all of those things,
But we may have a particular worthiness issue in that department.
Very nice.
Very nice.
I've noticed,
I've seen a couple of these.
I remember talking to somebody in a business and they were talking about two types of managers.
So I think a lot of negative beliefs come between levels of managers,
Directors,
Scale up in a company.
Would you say that as the mom,
I am the manager of my house?
Would this apply to people who don't manage?
You're the CEO.
I'm the CEO.
Okay.
I'm the co-founder,
Chairman,
And CEO.
And director of the board.
You are all those things.
So a lot of times people want to know the number one reason for a lack of a promotion is a negative belief.
What makes a difference between the CEO of the company and the guy who's screwing the screw into the furniture?
It's only one thing.
It's not one is more talented.
One is everyone's got two hands,
Two feet.
We all have the same general ability to do something,
But it's the person who owns the company has less negative beliefs about growth than the person that works for that person.
So it all comes down to beliefs.
So two managers and one is growing.
One is not,
Why?
So talking to the one who's not growing,
First thing that person will say is,
Well,
Everybody depends on me.
Talking to the one that's growing,
That person says,
I want to make sure nobody depends on me.
And it's interesting because there are also lines of the signs.
One is the Aquarius,
Which seeks freedom,
Wants no one to depend on them.
So that person is constantly looking to empower the people who report to him or her.
So always looking for ways to kind of elevate that person.
I might translate that as trying to avoid responsibility.
Maybe.
And if that is the reason,
That is the reason he'll have to pay or she'll have to pay the consequences in a different way.
But at least the objective will be achieved,
Which is,
Hey,
I want freedom.
So let me find a way.
We all deserve freedom.
So there's nothing wrong with having freedom.
Obviously,
If you're escaping something,
You've got to deal with it.
But let's say part of your nature is freedom is a good thing.
I want the flexibility,
The creativity to do more and share more and be more.
Therefore,
I need to find people to empower who do what I do.
If my belief system is subconsciously,
I enjoy people depending on me.
I enjoy people needing me.
I don't fully trust other people doing things.
You will be stuck.
You'll be stuck.
And even you could be an excellent performer.
You'll be stuck because there's a part of you that wants to stay stuck because you don't want to leave your world of respect.
In the Bible,
It talked about a third portion of the Bible that says that Abraham was asked to leave that world that he had,
That he established himself,
Where everybody respected him.
He had his community,
He had his wealth,
He had his family,
He had his friendship,
He had his students.
He was asked to leave that.
Creator wants us to leave that which we start to depend on.
Not physically leave necessarily,
But in your mind let go to open up the space for the newness that wants to come in.
So any area you're not growing is correlating with a negative belief.
Starting the new year and not.
.
.
If you're signed up for the gym but you don't go to.
.
.
The cliche of signing up for the gym in January and then not going has to do with your belief system about yourself and working out.
It doesn't have to do with a busy schedule or whatever else it is.
Well,
You bring up a good point.
A lot of people have things going on.
We're not all going to quit our jobs and start a new job in 2022,
Although some people might.
In order to renew the energy in your marriage,
You don't have to renew your vows.
What are some ways that people.
.
.
We already talked about letting things go to make room for something new,
But how do we create new energy in things that are old,
Pre-existing,
Long-term projects like marriage and career?
Right.
That's a great question.
I often ask people,
What did you first do in the beginning?
Because in the beginning,
We get the support from the universe.
We get this energy that gives us inspiration to make things exciting,
To add value.
Imagine when you were dating or when you were courting your spouse,
You had this divine inspiration of do this,
Bring that,
Say this,
Feel that,
Let go of this.
You didn't argue necessarily.
Can't imagine couples fighting on the third date,
Arguing over that.
It doesn't always happen,
Right?
If somebody even says something you don't like,
You gloss over it because you want to enjoy the date.
What was your mentality when it was good?
If a person suffering in their career,
I would be like,
What was the most successful year you ever had?
Oh,
It was in 2007.
It was the best year and everything was working.
I'm like,
What did you do in 2007?
What did you do in 2006 that created the miracles in 2007?
Let's recreate that.
A lot of people don't realize that they have the power and ability inside themselves to create the life they want.
They have risen to the occasion several times in their lives,
But they forgot what they did to get there.
Think of us in our early time,
Even with Kabbalah,
I think there's so many things that we did because we had the energy to do that created so many miracles.
If I'm experiencing less miracles in my life today,
I sometimes connect back to what did I do when I was 22 years old and every day was an exciting day.
I'm always trying to go back and recreate,
Not necessarily the life I had,
But recreate the restriction I did,
The effort you put forth,
The effort beyond my fears that I put forth because that's really what it comes down to.
The best years of your life were the years that you put in the most effort to change,
Grow,
Overcome your fears,
Be the bigger person,
Not be annoying,
Not be sarcastic,
Not be negative,
Not be jaded.
The Kabbalah say,
Why do we love babies?
Because they are the perfect vessel.
Why are all babies cute?
It's because they're not limited and they need you,
But not needy of you.
It's very like this beautiful energy where they're almost like a channel,
Like you want to take care of them,
You want to give to them.
But as we grow up as adults,
People don't want to give to us anymore because we start to clam up and close up and we're not cute anymore,
So to speak.
It's funny because I did a workshop,
Probably in 2007 actually,
Where a colleague of mine helped me to see that the best times in my life always were preceded by the worst.
There was a direct correlation,
We plotted my life out on a number line and whenever there was a low,
Right afterwards there was a high that followed.
And I don't mean high meaning I was high and everything was okay,
But if I reflect on the best times in my life,
They were a direct result of me working through something challenging.
And it was annoying to see that because sometimes the recipe isn't chocolate chip cookies and marshmallows,
It's facing your darkness and working through taking responsibility for things and etc.
And so forth.
But I think in what you said,
You also bring up something else that I know I struggle with and I'm sure a lot of people struggle with is I want everything in my life to flourish.
How is it even humanly possible to invest in everything?
We hear the dangers of multitasking.
I was watching a kid's science show with them and they were talking about the brain and concentration and focus and different things like that.
And one of the things they said is that we as a society look at multitasking as heroic,
But we really weren't built to multitask biologically.
We are built for focus,
Concentration,
Intensity,
And then breaking from that and moving on to the next thing to focus on.
So how do we balance how we give energy to everything in our life?
I want everything in 2022 to be the best it's ever been.
I want my relationships to be amazing.
I want my financial situation to grow.
I want to be happier.
I want to be healthier.
How is it humanly possible to do it all?
Dr.
David.
Well,
Anything I know in my own life that was a success,
I had to overwhelm it with energy and effort.
It wasn't kind of like,
Oh,
I'm just going to put in a little here and put in a little there.
You have to go all in,
Overwhelm it from all sides.
Like if you want to win a war,
You have to overwhelm the enemy.
And every part of your life that needs to move forward is there's a spiritual enemy there,
Like a negative force.
We call it the klipa.
It's a klipa.
It means like a shell that is a negative angel,
A negative force that sits there and says,
Hey,
If you want to get past me and get to that fulfillment that you do deserve and it is yours,
But you got to get past me.
And these negative forces,
They're very smart.
They know they've been given permission by the creator to fight you exactly on your level no matter how spiritual you are,
How long you've been doing this.
That's why a 65 year old man or woman is going to have the same level of difficulty overcoming their challenges as a 25 year old.
So there's no difference.
The negative forces have permission from the creator to fight you on your level.
However,
The way you overcome them,
Which you can always overcome the negativity that's in front of you is by overwhelming it,
Throwing all the spiritual tools at it.
So we talk about these things in our classes.
Kabbalah one,
We have a heavy emphasis on certainty,
On sharing outside your comfort zone,
On talking to the creator,
Asking the creator for help.
Those are three weapons that are very atomic in nature.
You throw that at any negativity.
You're going to blast right through it.
Then we add to that some of the other spiritual tools that we have,
Like the Zohar that can open any gate.
It says the president reads the Zohar,
Holds the Zohar,
Scans the Zohar.
It has an internal energy intelligence.
Everything has an internal energy intelligence.
Not all coffee is created equal,
Right?
I mean,
Look at my coffee cup here.
Yesterday I had a coffee cup.
They put a design on it.
I mean,
They took time to draw something on it and that made the coffee taste better.
Why?
Because somebody spent 60 seconds,
Drew a holiday design or whatever it was,
And it had more energy.
So it's like everything has an internal energy intelligence.
The Zohar has that energy.
Tools like the 72 Names of God have that energy.
A Kabbalistic tool that's thousands of years old can unlock gates and elevate consciousness called the Anabakkuk,
Has that energy.
So if I need to overcome something,
I'm going to overwhelm it with everything and then you're guaranteed success.
Ravashlai,
The founder of the Kabbalah Center says the reason why people don't overcome something comes down to one idea.
Are you,
If you're trying to break like this,
Like imagine there's this like door in front of you,
You're trying to break it down to get to the other side.
Are you just tapping it gently a million times?
Or are you taking a sledgehammer and with one ferocious thrust slamming it into the door?
That's the only way you break the door.
But a lot of people,
They just kind of tap their negativity.
Tap here.
Oh,
I got a meeting.
I'll come back later.
Do another little tap.
Oh,
Six days go by.
I forgot to be spiritual.
Oh,
Here's a tap.
Tap,
Tap,
Tap,
Tap.
Someone's like,
I'm having trouble with my marriage.
I said,
All right,
Do you want to fix it?
He's like,
Yeah.
I said,
Okay,
So you need to line up like these hundred things to do and do them immediately.
Oh,
I was busy.
I'm schedule is odd.
Let me get back to this later.
I said,
Okay,
So you're just,
You're a tapper.
You just like to tap here and there and hope that,
You know,
That's all going to work out.
It's not going to work out.
People who start businesses.
All right.
So what percentage of businesses that fail in the first year?
Something like 99%.
Why?
They start,
Make a little hat with a logo on it,
Pens,
A website,
And then they tap,
Tap,
Tap,
Tap,
And then it sits there because they get busy with something else.
You got to overwhelm something to make it successful.
All in all the time.
I might argue with that.
Well,
Not argue with that.
Give you a different angle.
Please.
My angle is.
.
.
My angle would be,
First of all,
To recognize that all of the different components in my life are not separate and distinct projects.
That all of them have that unifying quality,
Which is me,
And all of them,
As David said,
Have that internal energy.
Not only objects have internal energy,
Relationships have internal energy,
Conversations have internal energy.
Everything has an energy intelligence.
And so one thing I learned early on in my Kabbalah journey is that if I notice I have a specific limiting belief about something,
Or if I have a behavior,
A habit,
Something that I need to.
.
.
I can transform.
Let's say,
For example,
I realize,
Wow,
I am so impatient with my kids,
Which I bring up quite often.
And I'm probably better than most,
But it's still an area that I want to work at.
I don't want to say I'm probably better than most.
I've been working at it,
And I'm still working at it.
One thing I've noticed over the years,
And this is not only in my life,
This is in the lives of a lot of people that I work with,
I realize that it can't just be I'm only impatient with my kids.
I'm going to do a overhaul on my patience in life in general.
And for me,
That's one way to make sure that I am invigorating every area of my life,
Is I am assessing and investing in how patient I am in every area of my life.
Because inevitably,
If I'm impatient with my kids,
I'm also impatient with my husband.
I'm also impatient at work.
I'm also impatient with myself and my progress and my spiritual work and why aren't I growing or tackling and whatever reactive behavior I may have when I get impatient,
I probably get that reactive with my spouse and at work and etc.
And so forth.
So sometimes it's enough to pick a certain quality.
I think it actually,
We had Eitan Yardeni on the Weekly Energy Boost quite a while ago,
But I still remember him saying,
I think it was in June of 2021,
And he also shared the idea that when something is an issue in one area of our life,
It's probably an issue in all the areas of our life.
And coming to the realization that if I change this thing,
All of the areas in my life will benefit,
It's huge.
The amount of transformation you can experience is really powerful and profound.
So even though it seems like you're going to be focused on all the areas of your life and investing dramatically,
You're really using one sledgehammer in all the areas of your life.
You don't have to pick different tools.
You can use the same tool.
How can I be more present and patient with my kids?
How can I be more present and patient with my spouse?
How can I be more present and patient with people responding to emails and doing what I ask and being who I expect them to be?
I think you will also see something very powerful taking place.
Now before we sign off,
I know David is busy and wants to do other things,
But I think it's really important.
Hold on a second.
Let's take a pause right there.
Just to be clear,
I am of the belief,
And please put in the comments if you disagree with me.
Everybody's going to disagree with you,
David.
I am of the belief that it's not good to give too much.
I feel people are busy,
People have certain desire,
And overwhelming them with knowledge and wisdom is not necessarily.
.
.
I want you to feel like you're craving to come back next week.
I think I have PTSD from better shaming people.
I've had my cases of over giving in the past,
And it never works out well.
I always tell everyone,
The people do not want more than 30 minutes,
And that's already too much.
It's already too much.
I think six minutes would probably suffice.
I can hear the screams through the internet down with David,
Down with David,
Because they all wish the episodes were two hours each.
But anyway,
We'll find a happy medium.
One thing I think we talk about all the time that we don't really explain,
And please forgive me if you think this is too elementary,
Is what do we really mean when we say planting seeds?
Because I get it when it comes to planting actual seeds,
Right?
And it may even.
.
.
The metaphor of germination and gestation might work with you put an idea out there,
And you let people ruminate on it,
And it grows roots.
But practically speaking,
We talk a lot about planting seeds.
Every new moon,
We talk about planting seeds.
Every new year,
We talk about planting seeds.
And here we are in the first few days of 2022.
What does it mean?
What can it look like?
How can we give our listeners the best strategy and understanding of planting seeds?
For me.
.
.
That's a great question.
For me,
Planting seeds,
If I had to simplify it,
Is every time you create an energetic force.
.
.
In Kamala,
We do call angels.
Angels are just bottles of energy.
They're not like.
.
.
Don't have to get- Winged.
They are winged too,
But just to be simple about it.
It's an energy that you create,
And that energy will have an effect on something.
And I think thoughts,
Words,
And actions create energy.
And that's simple,
Right?
So when I think of planting a seed,
I think every thought I have,
Every word that's coming out of my mouth right now.
.
.
So if I've said 2,
000 words on this show,
Then I've planted 2,
000 seeds.
Hopefully each one of those words created something positive versus destroyed,
Meaning inspired,
It added value,
It didn't take away.
It didn't cause or precipitate something negative to happen.
So seeds are thoughts,
Words,
Actions.
So if you had to audit what you did today and all your thoughts,
Words,
And actions,
You would see what kind of seeds you planted.
And they will eventually have to bear fruit based on whatever you planted.
Right.
So to me,
The recognition,
The acknowledgement that every thought,
Word,
And action plants a seed is scary.
David,
I just started listening to the podcast,
And I just heard this,
And I'm a pessimist.
I've done some nasty things in my life that I'm not proud of.
And what am I going to do about all those seeds?
Right.
I mean,
There's a lot of things campus that you can do about those seeds.
You can cancel them with more positive seeds.
You can cancel them by stopping the guilt that you have about planting them.
You can cancel them by not beating yourself up for having planted them.
You can cancel them by committing to never do them again.
And you can cancel them by the fact that they will appear again in the future as some form of a test,
But you do not react to them.
Those are the most popular ways.
And if you need to hear that again,
Hear it again,
Of canceling the past.
And in fact,
The Kabbalists say so much so that whatever negative seed you planted,
Should you cancel them by any of the methods we just learned,
You don't just cancel them,
You convert them to something positive.
So it's like you take- So you're saying it's more powerful to convert seeds than it is to create them positive from the get-go.
Well,
What I'm saying is,
Yeah,
Every negative seed actually converts to a positive seed.
So the more negativity you did do- That doesn't mean go out and do negativity for you to convert.
And the Kabbalists talk about that too.
So they say,
If you've done negativity and you convert it,
You actually convert all of that into gold,
Like spiritual gold.
However,
Don't be mistaken thinking,
Well then I should go create as much negativity as possible and then convert it.
The person who intentionally creates negativity cannot convert anything.
But if you happen to do your best and didn't know any better and you create a negativity,
That negativity can be converted to gold.
I love that.
And I think one of the things that helped me embrace that teaching is also the realization that let's say I realized I did do something negative.
I wasn't spiritual.
I said something unkind.
I have a choice in that moment.
If I'm going to get upset about it,
I'm actually planting another negative seed.
If I'm going to accept it and recognize I have an opportunity to elevate and correct it,
Then I'm not only planting another positive seed,
I'm converting the insensitivity.
Yes,
I may need to apologize and whatnot,
But the awareness that reacting negatively to my negativity plants more negative seeds actually inspired me to not react negatively.
My natural tendency is to be like,
Oh,
You did it again.
I can't believe I did that or how was this ever going to get better?
Instead to respond in a compassionate and loving way to my misstep and focus on what I can do to transform it to that spiritual gold that David was talking about.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that if you're listening on Monday,
Monday,
January 3rd,
It's also the new moon of Aquarius.
And if you've been listening to the last few weeks of episodes,
You know that this has been heavy.
It's been the month of Capricorn.
It was a heavy one.
So it's exciting that we get to launch into this new energy.
The Aquarian energy is light.
There's a lot of movement.
It's really the opposite to the antithesis of the Aquarius energy.
And as we spoke about planting seeds on the new moon,
If you are listening on Monday,
You have the opportunity in these 24 hours to set the precedent for the coming month.
Our behavior,
Our thoughts,
Words,
And actions are that much more impactful.
Even if you missed it,
You may be listening on Thursday and you're like,
Oh,
Monday was such a terrible day.
Go back and listen to what David just said because you can convert those seeds.
That's the exciting thing.
And the other really powerful,
I think,
Message that we want to leave everybody with,
Not only for this week,
Not only for the month of Aquarius,
But also for the coming year,
For 2022,
Is that the ability,
And maybe that's also what David was talking about with converting those negative seeds,
Is that the quicker that we can pivot when we're in a negative space,
When we're in a heavy space,
When we're in an attached space,
The quicker the light turns back on.
And as we quickly shift from the heavy energy of the month of Capricorn into the month of Aquarius where things will be lighter,
Be easier,
Obviously every month comes with its opportunities to grow.
In the month of Aquarius,
We're focusing on enriching our interpersonal relationships,
Being more down to earth,
Committing literally the opposite of what we told you last month David spoke about,
Letting go,
Being more in the flow.
That's going to be easier this month.
So instead we want to make sure that we are persevering,
We are committed,
Dedicated,
Loyal,
Investing in our relationships and not letting them dissolve on their own or whatnot.
And really use these coming,
Whether it's with your New Year's resolutions or planting seeds for the month of Aquarius,
Whatever new outlook you're taking on in this week,
Do it with optimism,
Ease,
Compassion,
Curiosity,
And the knowledge that the more you act like the light,
The more you attract light into the process.
As always,
We want to thank you for sharing,
Rating,
Reviewing,
Continuing to help us get out there and reach more people.
We'll see you next week on the Weekly Energy Boost.
