Welcome to Guided Jewish Meditations.
My name is Eliezer.
Over the next 30 minutes or so,
We will meditate on love.
The ancient Jewish word for love is Ahava,
Which at its root means have or to give.
True meaningful and lasting love is the natural result from giving unto others.
On a deeper level,
When we act towards others with kindness,
Love and benevolence,
We take a piece of ourselves and give it to the recipient.
This is why children are the objects of our greatest love,
Because they are the recipient of most of our acts of selflessness,
Love and kindness,
And therefore we invest the most of ourselves in them.
If we meditate on this,
We gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of our relationship with the Divine.
If the greatest love is achieved by the most selfless acts of kindness,
Then the Infinite Creator's love for us must be infinite,
For there is nothing we can give in return to the perfect infinite source.
We are the recipients of perfect selfless love.
That is the focus of today's meditation.
Let us begin this meditation.
Find a quiet,
Comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
You should feel safe and relaxed.
Try and let go of the worries of the day.
Lay or sit down and gently close your eyes.
Allow yourself to fully relax.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and hold the air for a second or two.
Then exhale through your mouth.
Continue breathing this way.
As you breathe in,
Allow the air to mentally fill your entire body with spiritual energy and light.
And as you exhale,
Allow your body to sink into the material beneath you,
Letting go of all stress and anxiety you may be feeling at this time.
Over the next minute or so,
Continue with this breathing exercise.
And with each breath,
Allow your mind to further take over your entire existence,
Leaving your body relaxed and bringing you closer and closer to a deep meditative state.
You allow your mind's eye to open and find yourself standing on the sidewalk of a busy city street.
The sound and vibrations of dozens of cars fill the air and the ground beneath your feet.
You look around and take in the activity of hundreds of people,
Everyone going about their business.
The air is filled with the spiritual potential of all this life around you,
Permeating the air and infusing your mind and soul with life.
As you look closer at the people around you,
You see their bodies shimmer with translucent light,
Allowing you to see into their bodies and souls.
Some shine with radiating divine light,
Their souls illuminating their entire body,
Leaving behind particles of light.
Some are almost completely dark,
A small flickering light glowing dimly in their center.
All around you,
The spiritual activity surrounds your senses,
Making you an integral part of the people of this city.
Allowing your legs to move,
You begin to walk down the sidewalk of the busy street.
As you continue down the street,
You see a homeless man sitting against the side of a building,
His clothes a tattered mess,
His hair unkempt and his soul deep within him a dim point of light.
You stop walking.
Taking a deep breath,
You close your eyes and meditate on your power of free will.
You have the ability to choose.
You can choose to help this man,
Or you can continue walking by.
You open your eyes and reach into your pocket.
Taking a few bills,
You bend down and place them into the cup sitting on the ground before the man.
Here you go,
And good luck to you,
My friend.
You gently whisper to him.
As you stand up and begin to walk away,
You begin to see waves of divine light flowing outwards from your soul and to a point behind you.
Turning around,
You see the waves emanating from your soul flow into the body of the homeless man,
Illuminating his soul and filling his body with light.
The smile on his face shines with the color of the light of your soul.
As you contemplate this color and recognize it to be the same color as yours,
You begin to feel waves of love emanate from your soul and infuse itself with your mind and heart.
The waves begin to reach outwards along the light that was there beforehand and reach the man sitting on the ground.
As the waves reach him,
They infuse themselves with the soul of the man,
Illuminating it with the color of the love of your soul.
The light connecting the two of you disappears,
But the color remains with the man.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath,
Meditating on your power to love,
To bring light into the dark souls of others.
You shift the focus of your entire existence on your soul and on its power to give.

You you you As you feel your soul radiate with its power to love a deep transcendent truth begins to form at the edge of your mind slowly spreading throughout your consciousness filling your very existence At this very moment the life that is filling your soul mind and body with a spiritual light is the very expression of love from the infinite source the creator of all needs nothing a perfect existence needing nothing yet giving everything giving of its very own light causing everything to exist through it and You are the recipient of this light of this perfect form of love Because there is nothing you can give the infinite creator in return As this reality fills your mind and soul with its power you begin to feel intense rays of of radiating light enter your soul from the very air before you coming from all corners of your existence and filling you with its divine warmth It is the very essence and fabric of your own life force that enters you Fills you with love and makes you one with the infinite source It is at this moment that you experience the true power of love of the divine ability to give of your light unto others and What it means to become a more divine person yourself?
