28. One: The Secret Of The Name (Advanced)

The Ineffable Name of the Eternal Creator is the holiest word in Ancient Hebrew. It lies at the root of all of existence, the Name that combines all into one Unity. This advanced meditation guides the listener on a Divine journey into this Name, uncovering some of its secrets.

Welcome to Guided Jewish Meditations.

My name is Eliezer.

Even though the essence of the Infinite Creator is forever hidden from us,

Ancient divine wisdom teaches us that the Source of all revealed a name at the revelation at Sinai,

By which the Infinite Source may be known and called.

This four-letter name is the holiest word in ancient Hebrew,

One that Jews never utter with their mouth.

It is,

However,

One that is at the center of Kabbalah,

The ancient mystical wisdom of the Torah.

During today's meditation and drawing on this ancient wisdom,

We will attempt to delve deeper into this name,

What it represents,

And how meditating on it can be one of the most powerful sources of d'vakas,

Or cleaving with the Eternal Creator.

This advanced meditation is intended for listeners with a moderate familiarity of basic Kabbalistic concepts.

It involves some of the deepest,

Most sacred aspects of Judaism,

And as such,

It is appropriate to mention that it not be listened to in a place of impurity.

The letters in ancient Hebrew are vessels for the light of the divine,

And this is all the more true about the ineffable name of the Source of all of life and existence.

As such,

Meditating on these letters has the potential to draw forth incredible spiritual energy upon the person performing the meditation.

Therefore,

Please find a clean,

Quiet place where you can meditate,

A place where your soul can truly acquire the focal point of your mind,

Where your ego subsides,

And where you can fully devote your mind and soul to the one true unity,

The infinite source of all.

As we will be referring to Kabbalistic concepts,

Some of the words used in this meditation will be the same ones used by Jewish mystics who study this holy wisdom.

This is the only way these ideas can truly be conveyed and spoken about,

As in ancient Hebrew,

The words and what they represent are in fact one and the same.

And finally,

It is important to mention that any anthropomorphic references of the divine are never meant in any literal sense.

The eternal creator is incorporeal and transcendent.

These references are for us to allow our limited human mind to grasp the divine.

Let us begin.

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

And as the air fills your lungs,

Allow your body to completely relax.

Now,

Exhale and further relax your body by letting go of any feelings of stress,

Anxiety,

Or fears.

Then,

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

And in your mind's eye,

Fill the air with spiritual light,

Filling your body as the air enters you.

Then,

Exhale completely,

Again removing from your body and mind any tension or pain.

Continue breathing this way slowly and steadily,

And bring yourself closer and closer to a state of body and mind where you can put all physical aspects of your existence on hold,

And allow your soul to come front and center of your life,

Ready to begin this spiritual journey.

Now,

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

And in your mind's eye,

Fill the air with spiritual light,

Filling your body as the air enters you.

While breathing slowly and evenly,

Clear your mind of all thought.

Allow any remnants of your thoughts to dissipate into the void of nothingness,

Leaving your consciousness clear and still.

Hold on to this stillness,

Allowing it to spread throughout all of your reality.

Continue keeping your mind still and calm for a short while.

Now,

In the center of your mind,

Allow the holy four-letter name to appear in your mind's eye.

Draw the four letters of the name of the Ain Soph in black fire upon the white background of the scope of your mind,

Each letter slowly growing in your mind's eye until it occupies your entire mental frame.

Hold on to these letters,

Each one a source of infinite light,

Black fire upon white fire.

Continue meditating on this name,

And allow the letters to penetrate your mind and soul until they surround you from all sides,

Open themselves up to you,

And allow you to become part of them,

Giving you a glimpse of their secrets.

Now,

In the center of your mind,

Allow the holy four-letter name to appear in your mind's eye.

Now,

In the center of your mind,

Allow the holy four-letter name to appear in your mind's eye.

As your meditation on the ineffable name continues,

You begin to experience the light of these letters receding into the background of your mind.

Slowly dissipating into the white fire in the back of your consciousness.

Left behind are the shimmering outlines of the name,

But these too begin to evaporate into nothingness until only emptiness remains.

You take a deep breath and allow your mind to settle on this void where just a moment ago the fiery letters of the name of the source of all occupied your mind.

Out of complete nothingness,

Something appears.

It is the first emergence of something your mind has access to.

It is the first point of light that appears out of the nothingness of all.

As the emergence of this super concentrated point of divine light fills your consciousness,

You see the very tip of the letter Yud appear in your mind's eye.

It is a single dot that represents your first and deepest tangible understanding of the source of all.

As this light solidifies,

The Yud continues to grow until it appears fully the first letter of the name,

The wisdom of all of existence,

The Yesh that emerges from the Ayan.

In this letter lies all that will further reveal itself,

But there is no vessel that can contain such a concentrated point of light,

And so it is like the Chaya unable to enter the vessel hovering from above.

Continue meditating on this Yud,

The letter formed from the initial point of light,

And allow its essence to flow into your Chaya,

Always above you,

Forever connected to you and with you.

This is the second point of light that appears out of the nothingness of all.

This is the third point of light that appears out of the nothingness of all.

As your meditation of this Yud intensely As your meditation of this Yud intensifies,

You see it begin to expand into its fully spelled out form,

Yud-Vav-Dalit.

As the first appearance of a vessel appears in your mind's eye,

The Dalit,

A vessel that can contain the light of the Yud.

The Yud continues to open up,

Fully revealing its Vav and Dalit,

And as these two new letters appear in your mind,

You see the Dalit immediately present itself as the vessel for the Vav,

The divine light that was hidden within the Yud.

This Dalit is the vessel to contain this light,

Channel it,

And prepare it for its true intentions by the Ain Soph.

As the Dalit stands up,

Empty on its own,

The Vav,

Small at first yet full of infinite potential,

Enters the Dalit,

Completing it and changing it into the first Hei of the Holy Name.

This is Bina,

Where raw divine energy is contained,

Formed,

And where the first emergence of balance,

The hidden Aleph within the Vav,

Appears.

As your meditation on this Hei intensifies,

You feel your Nishama,

Deep within your brain,

Come alive as it finds its roots within this Hei of the Name.

Allow this connection to fill your mind and soul,

And experience the divine light of the hidden Vav within the Hei flow into and through you,

The life of your soul,

Connected to the infinite Source.

Your meditation on the Hei begins to take on a different spiritual form,

As the Vav,

The divine energy contained within the Hei,

Begins to emerge.

It grows down and beneath the Hei,

And as it fully emerges from its vessel,

It fills your mind's eye with its towering height,

The fully formed letter Vav,

Glowing with intense light.

As you meditate on this Vav,

You begin to see the Vav slowly expand as the Vav unfolds itself into its fully expanded form,

Vav,

Aleph,

Vav,

Filling the scope of your mind's eye before you.

As these three letters fill the expanses of your mind with their light,

A deep secret of the Name of the Source of all begins to unfold itself in your soul.

It is here,

In the Aleph at the center of this Vav,

That the unity and balance of all takes place.

It is here,

Where the Aleph balances the two Vav on both sides,

That the Name of the Creator of all finds its center.

Vav,

Aleph,

Vav.

The same numerical value as Echad,

One.

Balance is One,

Because all leads back to the same origin,

The same Source,

The One of Echad.

As this secret fills your mind with its radiating light,

You feel your Ruach,

The level of your soul that finds its roots in this Vav,

Reach out from deep within your heart.

Connect with this Vav,

With the balance contained with it,

And with the Creator of all of existence,

Whose Name is centered in this Vav at the crossroads of all.

Vav,

Aleph,

Vav.

As your meditation on the Vav,

As your meditation on the Vav of the Name deepens,

You begin to experience a voice emerge from the deepest levels of your soul.

It is the voice of the life force within you that rises from the depths of your consciousness.

It grows louder,

Deeper,

As its words begin to form in your mind.

It says,

I am the Daled in the last letter of your holy name,

Empty and void without you.

And the Vav,

The unity of Echad,

Enters me at every moment,

Completing my life form and making me a part of your Shekhinah,

Malchus,

The He that is connected with all of you.

It is when this Vav,

The Echad of Vav,

Aleph,

Vav,

Enters me that I become alive,

Conscious,

A sentient being able to be aware of you.

As this deepest expression of your soul takes a hold of your mind,

You take a deep breath and begin meditating on these words,

And on the final letter of the holy name,

The second He appearing in radiant white fire before you.

Continue your meditation of the expression of your soul,

And on the final letter of the name,

At last complete through you.

Your meditation on your soul and on its yearning to connect to the infinite source intensifies,

And you begin to experience the realization of a second secret as it forms as divine wisdom deep within the depths of your mind,

At the point where time and space flows into the infinite.

Your soul is a critical component of the source of all,

And of the mission and journey of existence.

Your life is custom made by the infinite creator to accomplish the mission of the perfection of your soul and of the world around you,

Thus restoring and completing the divine circuit that originates in and leads back to the source of all,

The secret of unity of Echad completed through you.

As the secret fills your mind and soul with its wisdom and light,

You experience a brilliant point of light appear deep within your Chayah in the deepest recesses of your mind and soul.

It briefly solidifies here as a radiant yud,

And as it completes the yud,

It rapidly expands into your nishama,

Your brain and mind,

Filling it with divine light.

A bright hay forms in your consciousness,

Small at first,

But then growing to its full size,

Filling your mind's eye.

As the light flows into the left leg of the hay,

It descends into your Ruach,

Centered in your heart,

As a vav materializes in your mind's eye,

Centered along your spine,

The core of all that you are.

The vav completes its expansion into your body,

And you feel the divine light within the vav begin to slowly flow into your bloodstream,

Supplying your nefesh within every cell in your body with this light.

In your mind's eye,

You experience the trillions of cells in your body,

All the vessels of your nefesh come to life,

Connecting all four levels of your soul with the four letters of the divine name.

It is through you that the infinite is united,

Through your soul,

One with the name of the unity of all.

We are approaching the completion of this meditation.

Please take a number of deep,

Slow breaths,

Allowing your body,

Mind and soul to return to the present.

Take your time.

Continue until you feel you have fully returned.
