This is a meditation on self-love.
One of the most powerful gifts that you can give yourself is loving yourself the way you are right now.
Not the way you should be or could be or want to be,
Not the way society tells you you're supposed to be,
But the way you are right in this very moment.
This very moment,
This very place of complete self-acceptance for all of your beauty,
For all of your flaws,
All of your quirks,
And the ways you show up in the world.
Trying to love yourself fully can be a truly transformational experience.
Find a place to be comfortable,
Whether you're seated or lying down.
Allow your breath to guide you into the present moment.
Settle in to your seat or the bed or the floor.
If you haven't done so yet,
Go ahead and allow your eyes to close softly as you continue to tune into your breath,
Simply noticing without trying to change it.
Notice if you feel any tension or perhaps relaxation in this moment without trying to change that either.
As you inhale through your nose,
Noticing the coolness of the breath,
Allow yourself to exhale through your mouth,
Releasing any added tension,
Noticing any restriction of breath and letting it soften.
Continue taking nice deep,
Full breaths through your nose and out through your mouth and begin to notice how your breath begins to shift the state of your body and the quality and stillness within your mind.
By focusing on your breath,
You can attune to any tension in your body.
Notice if you feel closed or shut down in regard to any emotion in your body.
Notice where your mind is taking you.
Notice it's trying to wander as our mind will do.
Continue bringing back your focus and attention to be at home focusing on your breath.
Any thoughts that come up,
Any negative comments,
Any to-do list items,
Just allow them to float away like a cloud or melt like an ice cube into hot tea.
As you continue to breathe,
Place both hands over your heart and continue to inhale and exhale,
Allowing yourself to relax even deeper.
Just notice how it feels to place your hands over your heart.
Notice any emotion or sensation in your heart center.
Continuing to make your breath more smooth,
More effortless as you begin to simply breathe in and out through your nose,
Allowing the air to move into your lungs and then back out,
Allowing each exhale to release any negativity,
Any thoughts lingering in your mind.
Now on each exhale,
Say to yourself,
I am enough.
And on each inhale,
Think or say,
I am worthy.
You can say this in your mind's eye or speak it out loud if it feels right for you.
Allow each inhale to be filled with self-love and worthiness and each exhale release what no longer serves you in your life.
I am worthy on the inhale.
I am enough on the exhale.
Take a few moments right now to continue reciting this simple mantra internally and stay aware and notice how you feel as you say these words to yourself.
I am worthy.
I am enough.
If your mind wanders at any point,
Know that it's okay.
Simply bring your attention back to your breath and notice how your thoughts simply come and go like those clouds in the sky.
On the inhale,
I am worthy.
On the exhale,
I am enough.
Take a few moments now in the silence and the quiet and continue speaking that to yourself.
Now,
Begin to visualize yourself standing in front of a full length mirror and look into your eyes.
What do you see?
Do you see love and joy reflected back at you?
Is there sadness or grief?
Regardless of what you see and feel,
In this moment,
Say to yourself,
I love you.
You are beautiful.
You are worthy of happiness.
Allow yourself to breathe and receive these words to your deepest heart-centered self.
Imagine now that you can breathe into your heart center and imagine love filling your entire body from the pulsating of your heart.
Let this energy fill you from your heart center,
Filling every nook and cranny within your body.
Allow this calming,
Warm sensation to travel through your chest,
Up into your neck,
Your head,
And down your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your hands.
Seeing the love and the warmth continue pouring down into your belly,
Your pelvis,
Your legs,
And your feet.
Breathe deeply into the sensation of love and warmth,
Knowing that it's here available for you anytime you need it.
Continue enjoying the sensation of self-love,
Self-worth,
Valuing yourself exactly as you are right now.
When you're ready,
Take a few more deep,
Mindful,
Present breaths,
And then gently let your eyes flutter open.
Stay here just for a few moments,
Allowing yourself to acknowledge the experience you just had.
Notice any shifts in your body,
In your emotions,
Learning to attune into your physical and emotional self,
Knowing that the more love you have for yourself just the way you are right now allows you to fully show up in all aspects of your life.
This would be a great time to grab a journal and reflect on any thoughts,
Sensations,
Even any resistance that came up.
In the acknowledgement of our own state of awareness,
We begin to grow beyond the limitations that others have given us.
