Tired,
Awake.
Open,
Closed,
Wherever you are is good enough.
And it's probably just right,
Exactly where you are supposed to be at this moment.
Close your eyes when you're ready.
Maybe you want to yawn.
Maybe you exhale the ancient breath word,

Just bring yourself in with that word.
Joining in.
Just slowing down.
Becoming more still and more quiet.
Not silence.
Not stony,
Just less,
Less agitation,
Less movement.
Less activity.
Letting your mind go and wander and wonder and just drift.
Your thoughts can't shut off,
But we can make them less strenuous,
Less rigorous,
Less precise.
Unspooling.
Unwinding.
Stretch and fidget,
Find your spot.
You can yawn,
You can exhale,
Sela.
You can inhale deeply.
And exhale slowly.
Wherever you are is enough,
And.

You can even slow down and go deeper.
Not required,
An invitation,
An opening.
A time to let go.
And quit on the world that was,
Let go of the world that will be in just this moment.
Is where you are.
Check in with your body.
How's your body doing?
Stiff,
Sore,
Achy,
Calm,
Easy,
Relaxed?
Maybe it doesn't have words,
Just sensations you notice.
You take stock with a generous awareness of where you are right now.
Breathing in deeply,
Out slowly.
Knowing that you can't stop thoughts,
You can't turn off your brain,
You don't want to.
But you want thoughts not to let them dominate you.
Not to get their hooks into you,
But just to drift.
Letting a thought go and coming back using my voice or your breath or your body as a cue just come into this moment and then the next,
Again and again.
Returning to self,
Returning to this moment.
Start with forgiveness.
There are people that.

.
Get you wrong.
Do you wrong.
Rub you wrong.
Mistakes,
Errors,
Everything like that creeps into the day.
You could hold on to it.
You could take that vengeful thinking to your bed.
Probably wouldn't help you sleep,
So you can contemplate letting go.
You can have the option of forgiving.
You're not ready to forgive.
And then because other people do us wrong,
We are sure that we do things wrong too.
Inevitable and unavoidable part of being human.
So maybe we tentatively ask forgiveness ourselves.
May it be so.
Your eyes get heavy,
The light gets dim.
And keep breathing.
Returning to breath and this moment whenever you're distracted,
As you will be.
Distraction is normal and natural,
Unavoidable.
Sometimes fun.
Sometimes not worth dwelling in.
And when you want to,
You come back.
Then maybe you give a little cheer that you did come back.
I'll come back.
Your eye droops,
Your lids are heavy,
Your pupils are dilating.
And we take a moment just to acknowledge the unity of the universe.
The created world shares so much alike across all of its diversity that it comes from a single source.
Some would call that God,
Some would know that as the Big Bang.
Physics,
Spirituality,
It doesn't matter.
It's all created out of the same cloth.
For reasons mysterious and unknown.
Let that fill you with awe and love.
That you get to be a part of such a magnificent experience.
You can feel that kind of awe and love at each moment.
When you go to sleep,
When you wake up,
When you walk,
When you lie down.
Especially now when you lie down.
May it be so.
And you are sheltered.
Protected and supported.
Rescued.
Shielded.
Great and good forces look over you while you will rest.
Then you will be protected and strong.
And sated and free.
And breathe in deeply and exhale on the word cella.
Fella.
You lie down in peace so that when the time comes,
You can get up peacefully.
Now you rest.
Shielded and protected.
Far from harm.
Going out of conscious life so that when the time comes,
You return to consciousness.
In peace and wholeness.
And great and good forces are around us.
They looked over our ancestors,
And they will look over those who come next.
Guaranteeing our passage through night and dream.
And the universe is blessing you and safeguarding you.
Take that in.
And the universe is looking towards you.
To offer you grace.
Take that.
And the universe is illuminating you with peace and wholeness.
Bring it in.
When we are surrounded by great and good forces as we rest.
During the day,
So many questions.
Doubts and worries,
Anxieties.
And we can deposit all those questions to our right side with a great and good force that can hold our questions.
During the day,
We wrestle and exert power through.
And you can lay all that energy at your left side.
With the great good force responsible for strength.
And through the night,
A great and good force holds a light ahead of us.
And another behind us.
Works healing in.
As we sleep.
And all around us,
Glory and mystery and surprises that we might get to taste in dreams.
Take a couple of moments to shake and shimmy to make any last movements or adjustments.
Quieting yourself down.
Having more and more quiet and still.
Inhale and exhale with the Salah.
And the universe goes on.
It was,
It is,
It will be glorious.
Nothing else.
No beginning,
No end,
Eternal.
You can rest your spirit in the hand of a loving universe.
With nothing to fear.
Just breathing through the night.
Resting to sleep.
