
Calming The Central Nervous System & Strengthening The Immune System

Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can positively or negatively affect our biological functioning. In other words, our minds can affect the strength of our immune system. This meditation is designed to calm the central nervous system and ignite your immune system's natural healing ability to restore health to the body.
Transcript
G'day and welcome to today's meditation strengthening the immune system.
My name is Dylan and I'm going to be guiding you through the next 20 minutes of your meditation practice.
The mind-body connection is incredibly strong.
This means our thoughts,
Feelings,
Beliefs and our attitudes can positively or negatively affect our biological functioning.
In other words,
Our minds can affect how strong our immune system can function.
On the other hand,
What we do with our physical bodies,
What we eat,
How much we exercise,
Even our posture can impact our mental state,
Again positively or negatively.
This results in a complex interrelationship between our mind and body.
So this practice today is designed to calm your central nervous system,
To find your inner resources of strength and to stimulate the immune system's natural response to restore health.
So when you're ready,
In your own time and in your own way,
Make your way into a comfortable seated position with your spine as lengthened as possible,
Your hands resting gently in your lap.
And when you're ready,
You can begin to slowly close down your eyes and shift your awareness from the external experience and into the internal.
And as you find stillness in the body,
I wonder if you can begin to focus in on that breath.
And I wonder if you can simply take note,
Without judgment,
Of how the breath is currently sitting for you.
Is it a shallow breath?
Is it free-flowing?
Is it blocked or stagnant?
Is it stopping at the chest or is it moving down right to the belly?
Whatever it is doing in this very moment,
Simply take note.
And as you do,
I encourage you to find your deepest inhale in through the nose.
And when you're ready,
Exhale long out through the mouth.
And you can simply go through a few of these deep breaths.
And as you do,
I wonder if you can feel that sense of relaxation wash over the body.
I wonder if you can feel the tension in your shoulders starting to relax.
And I wonder if you can feel the way your stomach expands as you inhale and releases on that exhale right to the very end as you begin to focus in on the sound of my voice and the internal experience of your body.
And there may be times during today's practice when you can focus on what I am saying and pay close attention to the words I am using and all the different meanings that I'm conveying in what I am saying.
And more specifically,
How I am saying them.
Or you could choose to focus on the stages of the process and how your awareness changes as this experience goes on.
And I wonder if you can begin to feel the way your arms are resting.
And I wonder if you can begin to feel the way your chest is slowly calming.
And I wonder if you can feel your sense of concentration focusing on each and every word that I'm saying as you begin to surrender and let go of any extra tension that you may have brought with you today.
And you can simply drift and dream and allow your mind to wander.
Normally in everyday situations people tell you to focus.
But here,
Using my words,
Using my guidance,
You can simply daydream whilst you listen with the need to only follow a few simple instructions occasionally as you become more and more absorbed into this experience.
And I wonder if you can begin to listen to a part of your mind that's sending that feeling of relaxation.
And I wonder as you listen to me,
That part of your mind can begin to access the immune system on that deep,
Deep level.
And I wonder if you can recognize the incredible work your immune system does on an every day,
Every moment scale.
To begin to recognize how strong your immune system is capable of being.
How many infections it has fought in the past.
How many illnesses it has simply recovered from.
And you can learn from messages coming from the external world and understand that not everything that is different or alien is bad.
And some things are actually on your side and there to help you fight the true invaders.
And the conscious mind can think about what it wants to help fight and what it wants left alone to do its job.
To fight those infections efficiently and effectively.
And this doesn't mean that the immune system needs to become hypersensitive.
It can simply become appropriately sensitive in the same way that many unnecessary allergies are caused by hypersensitivity.
And your unconscious can understand this.
And a part of you can now travel through the body placing a colored substance or marker on all those parts the immune system is fighting from.
All those relevant places from the feet up all from the head down.
And as that part of you responds in its own unique way you can wonder how quickly positive change will occur.
And while change occurs on a deep instinctive level.
And I don't know whether it will be today or tomorrow or perhaps sometime this week.
But you'll begin to feel your immune system even stronger than the day before.
And as you continue to listen to the sound of my voice your unconscious can begin to work on a deeper level.
Your unconscious can now begin to focus on the nervous system.
And as your unconscious begins to get right down to the microscopic level and work on analyzing and working through the nervous system it can begin to make any necessary repairs or overcome any blocks.
And your unconscious now can also begin to work through all the settings in all the various aspects of the nervous system to ensure that all responses from each part of this system work in a harmonizing nature with each other.
With each part of the system ensuring it can respond to stimulus and signals just at the right amount.
And each neuron in the mind and body and each nerve cell can be checked.
So I wonder as we sit here together if you can scan from the very top of your head all the way down to the bottom of the feet.
Scan through the body.
And simply send that clear intention to service the body.
And just like the way you go through a forest and when you're clearing a path for the first time it seems difficult.
But after you've been through that path many times it's easy to follow and find.
And you know flowing water always finds the easiest way through.
And water is a soft substance.
Yet it can erode rock and cut channels and pathways where previously there weren't any.
And your unconscious can understand what I say in a new way.
In a way the conscious mind just doesn't get.
And you have a sympathetic nervous system that controls the fight or flight response.
And a parasympathetic nervous system that controls the relaxation response.
And your unconscious can ensure that these systems are in balance in the same way that Goldilocks liked things just right.
And you know more about your own nervous system on an unconscious level than either I or you do consciously.
And you can take a moment now to simply take on board any of the things that I've said over the past few minutes.
Some things may have resonated strongly with you and other things perhaps not so much.
And your subconscious mind can decide subconsciously what information it wishes to take on board and which information it's going to leave behind.
So I'm gonna give you a minute now.
A minute of silence.
To simply feel that deep sense of relaxation washing through.
And that deep feeling of relaxation is rejuvenating and energizing your body for a brand new feeling.
And I don't know if it'll be today or tomorrow or sometime this week where you will begin to feel your incredible body work its magic.
I'm gonna give you that minute starting from now.
That's right.
And in a moment I'm going to ask you to come back to this physical world,
To the day and to this moment.
But first I'd like you to take a moment to appreciate your incredible body.
The immune system and nervous system,
The incredible intelligence that you have deep within you that is working 24 hours a day,
Seven days a week,
Each and every moment of your life.
Take a moment to appreciate your incredible heart beating.
That your incredible mind is able to think clearly.
That you have muscles being able to move.
But most importantly breath.
Recognizing that you are alive.
And when you're ready in your own time and in your own way you can begin to wiggle the fingers,
Wiggle your toes,
Slowly begin to wake up the body and as you do you can begin to roll around the neck.
Maybe giving your shoulders a bit of a roll,
Taking in a glorious deep deep breath as you slowly come back to the room,
Come back to the day and to your incredible body.

I stopped after 5 minutes because the music was louder than your voice but then I read that you are a hypnotherapist and realized the music was intentional and purposeful. I’m glad I stayed. I will repeat this!
