In this moment on Heal Meditations Miracles Everywhere Brave souls,
Wherever we turn we will find pain and heartache.
In the eyes of the barista,
On the screens we consume like the air we breathe.
In the slow cadence and slumped shoulders of a child's step.
In the tears of a soul who's lost someone in this life that can never be replaced.
The grief residing in them until too,
Their body retires from being on this earth.
Despair is all around us.
And if we look,
Miracles are too.
The miracle of the rising sun.
The roots of the oak trees,
Providing strength for its branches and leaves to give shade and protection.
The sweetness of tulips,
Sprouting every spring.
The glorious array of colors canvassing the sky with every nightfall.
Our heartbeat and our breath.
Our waking this morning,
Too,
If we choose,
Find goodness and joy in this day.
Our ancestors,
Who survived so that we could be alive this very moment.
The birth and rebirth of the human race,
Generation after generation.
Children growing from newborns to young children to prosperous adults.
Our skin's ability to feel the loving touch of a partner.
The friend whose name shows up on our cell phones the very moment we needed a lifeline.
The music that soothes our soul from worry,
Even if only for a minute.
We have the power to choose to see all of life as a miracle.
This doesn't mean we don't grieve,
Feel rage,
Or despair.
Yet we choose to also see love,
Beauty,
And healing in our walk through this life.
The human heart is here to live joyfully,
To be fruitful,
To thrive.
The valleys,
However deep,
Always return to grass prairies or breathtaking mountaintops.
Keep looking and moving in the valleys.
Miracles are everywhere,
And soon,
If we make it a practice,
We won't just see the miracles,
We will believe in them,
Too.
So take a deep breath,
And ask yourself and reflect on some of these questions.
What will it take for you to believe miracles are everywhere in your life?
In what ways is your life a miracle?
What are the miracles that you have witnessed?
And what are the miracles you have denied yourself to see?
What is keeping you from believing they exist?
What grief or experiences have hardened your heart from seeing life as a precious miracle?
How might you soften your heart to be open to the idea of miracles?
What might your life look like if you looked for a miracle every day,
Just one?
What would happen if we started today?
