In this moment on Heal Meditations,
The courage to speak.
Your voice was given to you because it needs to be heard.
Sitting in silence like the photo of Mona Lisa may feel safe and comfortable,
But in this state you give your power to others to decide without your input.
Continue in their paths of being uninformed or keep them from acknowledging and understanding the multiple truths and experiences coexisting simultaneously to the harms that we do by just going through the emotions.
The emotional and psychological labor it requires may be taxing.
Rest when you must.
Make space to love yourself and to be loved.
And if and when you are ready,
Turn your face to the mountains and their peaks and own all of the truths you hold.
Staying and suffering in silence is disempowering and disconnecting.
Spaces where others coerce,
Manipulate,
And silence us is dehumanizing and control-seeking.
Naming and owning our experiences,
Our anger,
Our values,
And claiming our worth aligns us with our purpose.
Liberates us from the oppressive narratives and experiences that told us we were not enough.
That in a word,
We weren't worthy of a voice.
That the syllables escaping our mouths somehow were insignificant and unworthy of care,
Attention,
Even consideration.
That we are not to be taken seriously.
We've been placed in a box suffocating us from the air necessary to make sound.
Paralyzed by fear,
Oppression,
Trauma,
Disbelieving we mattered.
Speak brave soul.
Please in these moments speak.
Have the courage to say the hard things,
Realities of your heart.
There's no change if we do not resist.
To speak boldly in defiance of the injustice happening all around us.
To say the words that are sidestepping,
Avoiding,
And covering like a stain under a luxurious rug.
Speak.
Speak.
Speak your frustration,
Your vulnerabilities,
Your rage,
Your honesty,
And your fears.
Speak your dreams and your visions too.
Speak your joy.
Own your words and name your truth.
The world needs you.
More truth and more courage,
Not less.
Be the one to give others what we all need.
Courage to speak against any and all forms of oppression and injustice.
Speak your truth.
