So what I want you to do is you have these these berries in front of you have this this food in front of you So I want you to just begin by checking in because we're sitting so we want to have the feet Nice and in a comfortable position whatever that means for you And then just close your eyes for a minute and as you breathe in feel the spine getting nice and long Begin feeling your hips Being nice and grounded and connected to the chair so you don't feel like you're skiing forward or you're rounding too far back It's nice and comfortable Check in with the shoulders and take a nice deep breath in And then when you're ready open the eyes and allow your eyes to gaze on this beautiful food these these beautiful berries in front of you in your hand and With an open heart and with full presence just begin observing what these berries look like It's like having a moment with these berries and you can certainly touch them if you want to you can say hello.
Hello berries Noticing all of the nuances of them because how often Do we really take the moment to give that much gratitude?
To what it is that then?
Physically becomes part of our body We're made up of these positive and negative ions giving a moment for the hands that might have Picked these berries that planted these berries Noticing their shape bringing it up close noticing any smell And you can even close your eyes if you want and notice any smell And that may mean that you have to you know pop one open that's okay or yours nobody else's Noticing your breath still noticing being grounded in through the feet.
It's very present With these beautiful berries Looking at them as if they're a little child like wow,
Oh my goodness get all that splendor And just notice if you feel any salivation happening Notice if there's a piece of you that's like,
Okay.
I really want to eat these berries When do I get to eat the berries?
They look nice They're fresh right just being aware of that noticing that noticing the tension between Like just having to move slowly versus go and quick action And then when you're ready Slowly and with a lot of presence take that hand whichever hand you want and begin picking up The berries if you haven't already so that you can decide how many you want to put in your mouth And just notice what it's like for that hand and all of the motions that that arm and hand have to make What happens still in the mouth what's happening as you breathe as you go to pick up however many berries you choose?
Before we put them in the mouth Before we put them in the mouth and then taking a deep breath and Then allowing that arm with however many berries you choose and that hand to make its way up to your mouth Right to the mouth not quite in right there Noticing what it's like and like you can totally laugh because it's funny right.
It's like we never really go this slow To tease it's like I want the berry Right,
But noticing what it's like to kind of have that arm all of the things that have to happen just to get that berry To your mouth or many berries however many you're choosing,
Okay?
Then noticing what it's like to open the mouth to take a deep breath to stay grounded and then to place that those berries or berry Gently in the mouth and then to try not to chew but just to have it there just to have it in your mouth Swirling it around using your tongue Just noticing that it's there Noticing the tension of like why can't I just chew and swallow this berry?
We're noticing the excitement of like this is fun.
This is different just noticing.
There's no right or wrong So it's sitting there the salivation starting.
What's happening notice that notice the process of what's going on in your body And then when you're ready begin the process of chewing Be very intentional with that chewing listen to that be very intentional with that chewing listen to the sounds Notice how many choose it takes Really sense all of the flavor that's within that berry or berries Notice the feet still grounded Notice how you feel and And when you're ready if you haven't already that's fine swallowing making sure that the berry is going down notice What it's like when you're swallowing That's the whole process of digestion is actually moving a little slower giving gratitude Really being aware and in awe of what it is that we're putting in being thoughtful and mindful of it But we rarely practice this right Very rarely does somebody lead us through this and so even if we were eating a giant piece of delicious Chocolate cake or we're eating a piece of pizza at a party Perhaps it could be integrated into our system So much more in a way that is going to nourish us if we're eating it with this intention And it doesn't have to necessarily be this slow right because people might think you're a little odd You're at like a party you're eating something really slow like that I feel strange,
But still with the intention like you know you know how you show up when you eat You know when something's just going in right for the sake of like I'm starving and I have to eat right now Versus an intentional this is nourishing me So keep going with your berries Okay Still slow still noticing the process noticing your feet grounded Allow yourself to finish them,
But finish them with some intention finish them with some slowness Noticing all the nuances of the entire process Checking in with the belly checking in with the neck The jaw This is what it's like to really nourish and love yourself This is one way physically detoxifying So it is
