How are you?
The heart is breaking,
While the body in pain,
Tossing the mind into a storm of doubt,
Mistrust,
And fear.
Diving towards the dark places,
Struggling to connect,
To feel alive,
To feel safe.
We grasp alone.
God asks us to join,
Yet we turn away.
Together there is power.
Together,
Where we bear our soul,
Our heart,
Our tear-filled eyes.
Locking into the ground,
Like root shoots taking off for the sky.
Growing with soft scents of spring flowers.
We join together.
Freedom illuminates.
Pain subsides.
Hope rises,
Billowing up and out.
Through grace comes peace.
No,
This is not fixing,
Not healing,
Or forgetting.
This is community.
The power in joining together.
Finding room to see clearly in yourself and another.
To listen intently without change.
One solitary spark that knows we are not in charge,
And that together we are the most capable.
Shifting into the real,
We illuminate together as our wings fan out for all to see.
How are you?
