Mind.

Let us talk for a moment about open minds.

A closed mind is a dangerous mind.

It uses the same neural pathways over and over again.

People can get in a rut.

They become positional.

They think their way is right and all other ways are wrong.

And when the rut gets really,

Really deep,

Self-righteousness sets in and can turn to hate and ignorance.

Hate can lead to all kinds of ills,

All kinds of pain,

All kinds of despair,

All kinds of destruction,

Even violence.

One of the ways to stop hate from being so prevalent in society is to keep your mind open.

An open mind and open heart can stop hate and ignorance in their tracks.

And you make yourself all the more healthy because hate is not good for anybody.

Because hate and ignorance only do harm,

Never good.

Are you following me,

Dear one?

Many are waiting for the other guy to change when they themselves need to do the changing.

Maybe,

Just maybe,

The other guy is in your mirror.

What could you do to open your mind today?

Emotions.

Let me have it,

Dear one.

Get it all out with me.

Whatever is bothering you,

Frustrating you,

Bringing you down,

You can be all of you with me.

Maybe you were taught as a child to put on a happy face.

That is a lesson to unlearn.

Safely expressing your gamut of emotions is the healthy way forward.

Far healthier than burying your feelings behind some facade.

Tell me everything.

And now,

Notice the space you have to breathe.

A bit deeper,

A lot deeper.

Notice the return of your confidence.

Notice a peacefulness,

A calm,

A sense of comfort.

Being real with your feelings serves you well.

You and all are wise to ask,

What are these feelings here to teach me?

What is my anger really about?

What is underneath my sadness?

What is the gift of all this?

Pause and ask such questions.

And then listen to the answers.

They are nuggets of gold.

What do your emotions want you to know?

Silence.

Silence is not always quiet.

Silence can be deafening,

A roar of life screaming,

No!

Silence can be a deep stirring of such intensity that a wind whips up to get your attention.

Silence can be a persistent tug doing its best to say,

Stop,

Something is not quite right here.

Silence is not always sweet.

A closed door,

A steeled heart,

A final breath.

Yet,

Silence is a friend.

No need to fear it or rush to replace it with music or news or even your own musings.

Embrace the silence.

Take a deep breath and listen intently from the depths of your soul.

Allow wisdom,

Cocooned in wordlessness,

To speak truth to you.

In silence,

Meet truth.

Meet wisdom.

Meet love.

In silence,

Meet peace.

In silence,

Meet me and yourself.

What is silence saying now?
