Sufi remembrance is a sacred meditation of the heart that repeats the holy name of God.
The practice is from the mystical tradition of Islam and therefore uses the name Allah,
Which means the one.
Know that you can call the divine by invoking what words and impressions you give as you hold the intention for all that you desire.
I encourage you to go within your heart and find the word or words that resonate with love and light within you.
You may discover that many names for God and the divine have a vibrational quality that as you speak them aloud,
The sounds of which open your heart and mind,
As your cells align in vibration.
The sincerity of your heart will always guide you.
For this meditation,
I invite you to create a sacred space.
You may wish to create a place in your home where you can be quiet and in stillness and solitude.
You may prefer to sit to be near an open window or to go outdoors in sunlight and nature.
There can be a number of places that you choose that become a sacred place for you.
As you sit comfortably,
Your back straight,
Your feet placed on the floor,
Perhaps seated cross-legged or on a meditation cushion,
Allow for the energy flow to move easily and what will encourage you to remain awake and in comfort.
As you find stillness,
Begin the meditation as you place attention onto the breath.
Begin to breathe so that your breath is rhythmic.
This means that your in-breath is equal to your out-breath.
Imagine that you can rhythmically breathe in and out through your heart center,
The area of your heart and your lungs.
This will encourage an energetic flow through your heart.
When you feel ready,
Begin to repeat the word or words of the divine.
Divine.
God.
Source energy.
Love.
Within your heart.
Let the words be spoken from your heart and in and of your heart and let the sound of these sacred words be felt in and of your heart center.
Let's do this together in the silence that follows for the next several minutes.
If your mind wanders off,
Gently refocus your attention onto your sacred words.
Let go of critical thoughts as you choose instead to be here and in the precious nature of this practice.
I'll return after three minutes and if you choose you may continue longer with me.
Notice the rhythm of your heart as it communicates the sacred words of the divine in repetition.
Your words could be God,
Allah,
Yahweh or a mantra such as I am love.
The divine exists within me.
I am one with God.
You may continue a little longer using a new set of words that open your heart further to the love of pure consciousness and source and the divine.
I will return after a few more minutes.
Notice the feeling in your heart.
You may want to offer a moment of gratitude for all that is.
Remain present of your heart center as you open your eyes and as you return to the moments of today.
As you advance in this practice,
You may choose to sit longer.
Sitting in meditation is only the beginning.
The intention is to encourage the heart to be in perpetual remembrance of the one.
That is to walk the planet in a state of love,
To be love.
So well done.
Thank you for joining me.
