Hi,
It's Dorothy,
And it's time to say good night.
The day is over.
There's no more to do or say.
So let's prepare our body and mind for a great night's sleep by taking just a few minutes to meditate before lying down.
Comfort is the most important thing for me to have a successful meditation practice and in order to get a good night's sleep,
And I'd love to share that with you.
So please make sure that your environment is restful for you to meditate and to sleep tonight.
The lights are low or off completely.
The temperature is just right.
You're wearing something comfortable,
And there are no noises or loud sounds that will distract you.
Seated in your bed,
We will now set our hands up for a hand mudra called the Shakti Mudra to enhance deep sleep and relieve us from worry.
Bring your focus and your gaze down to your hands.
Tuck both of your thumbs into the palms of your hands.
Then curl the index finger and middle fingers over the thumbs.
Feel the pinkies and the ring fingers extended,
And then bring the tips of the ring finger and the pinky of the right hand to touch the tips of the pinky and ring finger in the left hand.
In both hands,
The thumbs are in the palms of the hands.
The index finger and middle fingers fold over the thumbs,
And the tips of the pinkies and ring fingers touch in both hands.
Hold this hand mudra loosely and gently.
Then bring your hands down where you can hold the hand mudra with ease.
Soften your gaze,
And when you're ready,
Close your eyes.
The shoulders melt down away from your ears.
Consciously relax your jaw,
The face,
The mind,
The brain.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Recognize that this is the best thing you can do for yourself right now.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Soothe yourself with your breath.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Feel easy as you hold shakti mudra.
Watch your breath and your body.
With each exhale,
Relax deeper and deeper.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Find some appreciation for your resting environment.
The cozy bed you get to sleep in.
The blanket that will give you warmth.
The pillow that will support your head.
The quiet sounds of the night.
The roof over your head.
This time that you get to relax and recharge for a new day.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Be easy as you rest here for another minute on your own.
Om Agasthi Shahina.
Om Agasthi Shahina.
Om Agasthi Shahina.
Feeling calm and at peace.
Appreciating this time perfectly carved out for you to rest and sleep.
Right now,
Calm,
Easy,
Gentle.
Take this time to slowly lie down.
Om Agasthi Shahina.
