It can be born through time, Patience, Trust, Forgiveness, And the choice to lead with love even when the circumstances are complicated or misunderstood. It's taught me that family can be chosen, Built, Revered, And sheltered even when it doesn't look traditional from the outside. It's taught me that being a mother isn't about claiming ownership over a child, But about offering your whole heart to them over and over again without any guarantee of how it will be received. But mostly, It's taught me about commitment, What it means to show up and the important roles we play as adults in the lives of young ones who very much so rely on and look up to us. And so, Whether you are a biological mother, Stepmother, Adoptive mother, Foster mother, Bonus mother, Grandparent, Single father, And to anyone living in the quiet spaces of motherhood and loving a child, Your motherhood counts.
