Meditation doesn't have to take a lot of time. Even practicing a few minutes a day, especially upon waking, can help set you up with an improved mood and energy ready for the rest of the day. This 5-minute morning meditation is meant to be done as soon as you wake up. It's a quick but powerful "mindset" practice that works with the breath, heart-centering, gratitude and silence.

Good morning!

It's going to be a beautiful day.

Before you start to think about all the things you have to accomplish today,

Allow yourself to simply be present in this moment.

Take a deep breath.

Feel it filling your lungs with vitality,

With health,

With all good things.

Center yourself in your heart.

You can place a gentle finger or your hand over your heart.

And simply be present with the energy pulsing there.

You are alive.

You are alive for another day.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

We have no way of knowing what's in store for us.

We can,

However,

Make a decision to see whatever happens with eyes of love.

Take a deep breath in.

Breathe out.

Let us anchor ourselves in a frequency of gratitude.

Feel grateful that you are awake and alive.

What do you feel most grateful for?

It can be as simple as the breath you breathe,

Or for having had a good night's sleep or sweet dreams,

Or it could be for those people in your life who inspire you and uplift you.

Find three things which can help you generate a sense of gratitude right now.

Be grateful to serve life another day.

Take a deep breath.

And now let's rest together for a minute in silence.

Do your best to keep your mind clear.

Simply abide in being.

Awake,

Aware,

Alive and full of light.

And now,

You're ready.

Go forth and share the light that you are with the world.

Wherever you go,

You'll make a difference,

Just by being you.
