In the next five minutes,
I'm going to take you on a journey with me to ground.
Taking you to a place that I used to go to when I was younger growing up on the coast of Massachusetts when I wasn't feeling safe at home or in my body.
Let's get started.
Whether you're sitting or lying down,
Just taking a deep breath in with me now,
And exhale.
And using,
Tapping into your imagination,
Imagine that you're just walking with me now down a quiet street with houses,
Beautiful trees.
It's a warm sunny day.
And at the end of the street,
We see the ocean.
Down below is a rocky beach.
And to get there,
We need to walk down a pretty steep staircase.
But in your imagination,
If there's any reason in your physical body that you might not be able to access this staircase,
You get to choose how you would like to get down.
And that could include flying.
But if you'd like to walk with me down this staircase,
It's actually made out of steel.
On each side of the railings are beautiful pink roses.
And as we're making our way down,
We feel the sea breeze hitting our faces and the smell of the ocean.
It's intoxicating.
When we get down to the bottom of the stairs,
There's rocks on the beach,
But they're small enough to easily walk on to get to a much larger rock,
A rock that we'll go sit on.
And as we approach this large rock,
We just pause at the top of it and take our shoes off.
Standing there on this firm,
Solid form from nature,
Feeling the energy of the rock supporting us,
Feeling the gentle spray of the ocean gently hitting our faces,
Our skin.
And we take another deep cleansing breath in to just clear our minds and settle into our body,
Into this space,
Into the earth.
And we gently ease our bodies down onto this great support of this rock.
And looking out at the horizon where deep blue ocean meets bright blue sky.
There's beautiful white puffs of clouds gently dotting the sky.
And the seagulls are flying around in circles,
Hoping for handouts,
Making their happy sounds.
It's a glorious day.
There's an airplane flying way up high.
We can just hear it in the distance.
And it feels refreshing.
It feels safe and nurturing.
And you can come back to this place any time to ground.
But if you'd like to join me on a longer journey,
To feel more grounded in your body,
Then try listening to my Feel Safe in Your Body trauma-informed body scan meditation.
And thank you so much for joining me.
I hope you're feeling better already.
