Namaste Sanyasa family and everyone.
A very warm welcome to all of you in this daily live meditation session with me,
Dhyansa.
We are meditating on 112 meditation techniques of Vigyan Bhairav Cantra.
If you look at humans,
Just yourself or the people around you,
If you observe what has happened to humans,
You will see that on the surface,
Everything appears to be okay.
Everything appears to be fine.
There is perfect functioning,
There is a perfect smile,
There is a perfect happiness,
Perfect intelligence.
On the surface,
Everything is going in order.
Everything is harmony on the surface.
But if you go one inch deeper,
Just scratching the surface one inch deeper,
Suddenly everything is in disorder.
There is absolute disharmony within.
There is fear,
There is chaos within.
On the surface,
Everything seemed to be in order.
Everything seemed to be in intelligence.
Everything seemed to be in knowledge.
You know how to go about life.
You know how to function.
You know how to deal with yourself,
How to have health,
How to have wealth,
How to be with others.
But you go one inch deeper within you and that's where it becomes completely unknown.
In chaos,
In disharmony.
In a place where you don't know how to handle that.
You don't know who you are.
You don't know what is inside if you just go one inch deeper within yourself.
And all our life,
We try to just work on this surface,
On this periphery,
On this boundary of the center.
When we remain there,
We try everything to do on that periphery.
Our attempts to have more of experiences,
More of happiness,
More of joy,
More of love,
All the good things of life.
We try to have them on the surface.
We never go deep within,
Even one inch deep within.
If you do,
You will see how much disorder,
How much disharmony is there within.
And there is no center anymore.
This periphery,
This effort,
This work on the periphery is so much involving.
You're so busy with the periphery that there is no center left anymore.
As if you are a circle without a center.
That center is lost.
That center is not even in question.
You're not even looking for that center.
You're not even aware of that center in you.
You're rather just remaining on the surface.
This journey that we take,
This spiritual journey,
This meditative journey has nothing to do with the periphery.
Rather your center.
It is a journey in which so that once again you can be in harmony.
So that once again you can be rooted in existence.
With just the surface it is as if you are a tree which is uprooted from the ground.
You're uprooted from the existence.
You're living as if you're always on the surface uprooted trying to find the meaning,
Trying to find the happiness.
But never looking at the roots that you are uprooted from the existence.
This effort in these sessions,
Your meditation,
Your spiritual practice is all about connecting back to the source.
Your roots once again back into existence.
This life which is lived uprooted from this existence,
Uprooted from the truth,
Uprooted from the love,
Uprooted from the connection,
Uprooted from the reality.
This uprooted life is so much on the surface.
It has not much meaning.
Whatever experience,
Whatever knowledge you collect,
Whatever chairs you are in,
Whatever meaning you give to your life,
It never remains fulfilling for long unless you're rooted back in existence.
Unless you're rooted back in love.
Unless you're rooted back in the truth.
See that this journey with Vigyan Bhairav Tantra and all other traditions have this one single goal which is to bring you back to your center.
To bring you back into the roots,
To put your roots firm into the love,
Firm into the truth,
Firm into the connectedness,
Into the reality,
Into the oneness of our pure consciousness.
And this journey is requiring you to turn inwards.
It is requiring you to contemplate.
It is requiring you to have the courage to go within and meditate on the love,
On the truth,
On this oneness,
On this connectedness that you have with the source.
In the past few sessions,
We have been focusing very much on happiness,
On how to have happiness in this illusion,
In this maya.
If you have come to this point in your spiritual journey where you see that everything in this world somehow is an illusion,
Somehow is not real,
In those moments you may fall into happiness.
In those moments you may fall into disinterest with life.
So Bhairava picks you up from that point in your spiritual journey and shows you how to bring back happiness amidst this illusion,
Amidst this knowing that this life is an illusion.
How to live this life knowing that this is an illusion,
Have the joy in life,
Have the happiness in life.
The sutra which Bhairava has been giving over the past few sessions,
Let me read it once again and then we will meditate on one specific aspect of the sutra.
Contemplating on the manifest world as imagined or elusive,
Like a magic show or a painting and seeing all existence as transient,
Happiness arises.
So here Bhairava gives three different aspects to contemplate upon on this illusion.
One is that this is like a magic show,
This illusion of life is like a magic show.
If you live this,
If you contemplate on this unpredictability of life,
Remaining open for the magic of life,
Happiness arises.
Secondly,
The art of life,
To look at life as a painting,
As an artwork so that you can appreciate this not as knowledge but as a work of art,
So that you can come closer to the soul of the artist by contemplating on this illusion,
This world as a form of art.
And the last,
The transience of this existence,
The impermanence of this existence,
This is what Bhairava is saying,
If you meditate,
If you contemplate on this impermanence of this illusion,
The impermanence of life that whatever is born dies,
That you are born are bounded to die one day,
If you meditate and contemplate on this impermanence,
On this transience of life,
Happiness arises.
How does that work?
Why is Bhairava focusing on this transience?
There are many ways in which you can contemplate about this transience of life.
But you have to understand that by contemplating on the transience of life,
Your nature to your present moment,
The nature of this experience that you are having right now,
This changes and therefore he wants you to contemplate on the transience of life.
How can you do that?
Many ways.
As an example,
If you imagine,
Just for the sake of imagination,
If you imagine that this is the very last second of your life,
This is the very last moment of your life,
Suddenly in that realization that this is really the very last moment of your life,
What happens?
Suddenly,
All the worries,
All the burdens that you are carrying,
They are dropped.
Or fear may arise.
Whatever your experiences,
Contemplate on this transience,
This impermanence of life by maybe imagining that this is the very last moment of your life.
And see that you are thrown back into the present moment,
You are thrown back into the moment and your relationship to the present moment changes.
A doctor,
He appeared in one of the wards where a patient was waiting for the report from the doctor.
He was lying on the bed for a long time.
He said,
How long do I have?
The doctor said,
10.
10?
10 what?
The doctor said,
9.
9.
Just see that the moment you even imagine that this is the last moment of your life,
Suddenly the relationship to the present moment changes.
And this is worth contemplating upon,
This is worth putting energy in.
And you can extend this contemplation to more imaginations,
To stretching your contemplation to something like,
If you have 100 years to live more,
It does not matter whether you are now 20,
30,
40,
50,
60,
Let us say you have 100 years more to live life.
What happens to the state of your mind?
What happens to this state of your experience?
Suddenly once again you are in forgetfulness.
Suddenly once again you want to live this illusion in all its miseries,
In all its sorrows,
In all your problems.
Once again the problems arise.
When you said that this is the last moment of your life,
There was no problem.
But the moment we say there are one more 100 years to live,
The problems arise,
The miseries arise,
The plans arise,
The ideas arise.
Imagine if you have 1000 more years to live.
Contemplate upon that you are going to live 1000 more years,
Not just 100 more years,
But really 1000 more years,
Not just you,
But everyone else on this planet,
Together with you is going to live 1000 more years.
What would be the relationship to your present moment?
What would be the relationship to others?
What would be your worries?
What would be your happiness?
What would be your joys?
Contemplate upon that.
Imagine the ultimate,
If you were never to die,
Just imagine,
Contemplate,
If you were never to die,
If you were to live forever and everyone that is there around you was to live forever,
What would that mean?
Would that mean that you are having the same worries in life?
Would you like to live forever all this time permanently in your life?
Take this journey outside this session when you have more time from contemplating that you are going to have just one more second,
One more moment of life and then it's all over,
Then it's finished,
All the way to that you are going to live forever,
That there is no death,
That there is no life away from you,
You're going to be permanently just the way you are forever and see the nature of the experience that you're having in the present moment,
What is all going on in your mind.
While you do this contemplation in your own pace,
With your own time,
Let us take a few moments to do it in these few moments of silence,
Few moments of meditation,
Just simply by observing our inner space,
By observing the impermanence of our inner space,
While you do that,
While you see that there is always something rising and falling in your inner space,
In your consciousness,
Thoughts rising and falling,
The ebbs and the flows,
The appearance and the disappearance of the contents of your consciousness,
When you look at that with a sense of impermanence,
That this is something that is rising and falling,
Which is just transient,
Which is just short lived,
What happens is that there is a shift to the background,
You in this focus on the impermanence,
You stumble upon something that is permanent,
Something which never dies,
Something which does not rise and fall,
Which is always there in you,
From the foreground of your focus to the background of all pervading awareness.
Let us take this small journey into the impermanence and moving from impermanence to the permanence,
From the illusion,
The impermanence,
To the reality,
The permanence,
From the death,
The circle of life and death,
To something that is beyond life and death.
Please close your eyes and take a posture that is comfortable for you.
With your body relaxed,
Alert,
In a restful yet alert posture,
Your back straight,
Short shoulders down,
Face relaxed.
Leaving the surface,
The periphery of what is all around you in the world,
And moving to your inner depths,
To your inner space,
Shifting awareness inwards.
Please close your eyes and take a deep breath in and out.
Awareness from all directions inwards,
Towards your inner space.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
From your movements,
Images,
Visualizations,
To your inner space,
From all directions,
Energy inwards.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
With a sense of transience to whatever you observe in your inner space,
Observing the contents rising and falling,
Appearing and disappearing.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Resting in the transience of your inner space.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Everything in your inner space is transient.
Simply observe this appearance and this appearance.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Not trying to hold on to anything.
Not trying to change anything.
In restful awareness of the transience.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Shifting awareness from the transience to this background.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
That which has no beginning,
No end.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Letting go of all effort,
All focus and resting in silence.
Resting in pure awareness.
Letting go of all effort,
All focus and resting in silence.
Letting go of all effort,
All focus and resting in silence.
Letting go of all effort,
All focus and resting in silence.
Letting go of all effort,
All focus and resting in silence.
Absolute stillness,
Silence and awareness.
Letting go of all effort,
All focus and resting in silence.
And very gently and slowly.
You may open your eyes.
Maintaining this sense of permanence,
This taste of something that has no beginning and no end.
And at the same time,
This realization of the transient nature of illusion.
Taking the silence and awareness to your daily life.
On the spiritual journey,
When meditation,
Contemplation is not enough,
You need a Sangha,
You need a community,
You need a space where you can be yourself.
Not just in few moments of silence,
In few moments of meditation,
But also otherwise.
To learn to live in the expression of love.
To learn to be in the truth,
Not just with your eyes closed,
But with your eyes open.
If you have the calling to flow along with me and with other meditators in that Sangha,
Towards your spiritual growth,
Towards you living in truth,
In love,
In connection with all,
You're more than welcome to join our sannyasa family.
To apply,
Please write me an email with your introduction.
With your interest,
Your genuine interest in this sannyasa family,
Why do you want to be a part of this Sangha,
Of this sannyasa family,
Of this community,
And what can you give back?
Thank you very much.
Namaste.
