A short pause at the day's end to reconnect with the four elements of earth, air, fire and water, bringing you back home to your inner calm as you connect with your home in the cosmos. Reconnecting with each element and repeating a short mantra for earth, air, fire and earth will allow the stress and challlenges of the day to melt away as you prepare for a restful night.

Evening Meditation in Celtic Spirituality Welcome to this evening meditation inspired by Celtic Spirituality.

As the day draws to a close,

We take a few moments to connect with the sacred energies around us,

Grounding ourselves in the peaceful embrace of the night.

Find a comfortable position,

Sitting or lying down.

Allow the body to find ease and comfort,

And to relax.

Gently close your eyes and take a deep breath in,

Filling your lungs all the way up to the shoulders with cool,

Calming air.

Exhale slowly,

Letting go of any tension or stress from the day.

Repeating this two more times,

With each breath inviting you into a deeper state,

With each breath bringing you deeper into a state of relaxation.

Connecting with the Earth Begin by visualising yourself standing on the cool,

Moist earth,

Surrounded by the gentle twilight of evening.

The ground beneath you is solid and supportive,

Connecting you to the ancient energy of the land.

Feel the Earth's stability and strength,

Grounding you and offering a sense of peace and security.

As you breathe in,

Draw in the grounding energy of the Earth,

Feeling it rise throughout your whole body.

With each exhale,

Release any remaining tension,

Letting it sink into the Earth to be transformed.

Silently repeat,

I am grounded.

I am at peace.

I am grounded.

I am at peace.

Now bring your awareness to the evening air around you.

Imagine a gentle breeze caressing your face,

Carrying with it the sense of the night,

Fresh,

Cool and calming.

The air is filled with the whispers of the wind,

The ancient wisdom of the Celtic lands.

As you breathe it in,

Feel the clarity and freshness of the night air filling your mind.

Clearing away any lingering thoughts or worries from the day.

With each exhale,

Let go of any mental clutter,

Allowing your mind to become still and serene.

Silently repeat,

I am clear.

I am calm.

I am clear.

I am calm.

Now turn your focus inward to the gentle flame of your inner fire.

In the stillness of the night,

This fire burns softly,

Providing warmth and light within.

It represents your inner strength,

Your spirit,

And the passion that fuels your life.

As you breathe in,

Feel the warmth of this inner fire,

Allowing it to spread throughout your body,

Filling you with a sense of inner peace and contentment.

With each exhale,

Release any stress or fatigue,

Letting it be consumed by the fire.

Silently repeat,

I am warm.

I am content.

I am warm.

I am content.

Finally,

Connect with the element of water.

Visualise a serene,

Moonlit river gently flowing beside you.

The water is calm and clear,

Reflecting the night sky.

This river carries the energy of the evening,

Soothing and healing.

As you breathe in,

Feel the calming flow of the water within you,

Washing away any remaining tension or stress.

With each exhale,

Release any emotional burdens,

Allowing them to be carried away by the gentle flow of the river.

Silently repeat,

I am calm.

I am in flow.

I am calm.

I am in flow.

As we bring this meditation to a close,

Taking a moment now to feel the balance of all the elements within you,

Earth grounding you,

Air clearing your mind,

Fire warming your spirit,

And water soothing your emotions.

You are connected to the sacred energies of the evening.

When you are ready,

Take a deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Gently bring your awareness back to this present moment.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

Bringing movement back to the body.

When you feel ready,

Open your eyes.

Carry this sense of peace,

Balance and connection with you now,

As you transition into the rest of your evening and into restful sleep.
