Lektion 1
We Are Not Our Thoughts
In Day 1 we acknowledge that regardless of our age, gender or life circumstance, we all have limiting thoughts. It’s part of the human experience. We learn that an inspired and fulfilled life involves learning to interact more skillfully with these limiting thoughts. Through mindful awareness and curiosity, we explore the idea that we are not our thoughts, we are the awareness that notices these thoughts. From here, we begin the process of breaking free.
Lektion 2
The Foundations Of Breaking Free: Awareness, Curiosity & Compassion
In Day 2 we learn about our brain’s negativity bias and the effects this has on our thoughts. During our practice together we continue to cultivate a sense of warm-hearted awareness and curiosity towards our thoughts. In particular, we will explore how our thoughts make us feel in our bodies and our hearts, and the impact they have on how we see ourselves and our place in the world.
Lektion 3
How Stress, Overwhelm And Busyness Impact Our Thoughts
In Day 3 we explore how stress, overwhelm and busyness impact our thoughts. During our practice together we connect with our breath, relax our bodies and engage our senses. From this relaxed state we notice what happens to our thoughts. Today, we commit to taking our learnings into our daily life, pausing a few times each day, noticing our thoughts, and taking skillful action to break the cycles of thinking caused by stress, overwhelm and busyness.
Lektion 4
Thinking Habits That Keep Us Stuck, Small, Distracted & Disconnected
In Day 4 we explore the thinking habits of our minds. We learn that whilst our thinking habits help us conserve energy, keep us safe and make sense of the world, when out of balance, these thoughts can limit our experiences and ultimately our lives. In our practice we shine a warm-hearted light of awareness onto some of our thinking habits, noticing how they impact how we see ourselves, our relationships and our lives.
Lektion 5
Pulling The Weeds Of Self-Criticism, Planting The Seeds Of Self-Compassion
In Day 5 we begin the process of “gladdening our minds”. We learn that breaking free involves replacing our limiting thoughts with thoughts that allow us greater freedom and possibility. We use the metaphor of our mind as a garden and begin the powerful and liberating practice of pulling weeds and planting seeds. In today’s practice we pull the weeds of self-criticism and plant the seeds of self-compassion.
Lektion 6
Letting Go Of Self-Doubt, Inviting In Self-Confidence
In Day 6 we continue to tend to the garden of our minds, turning our awareness to the thinking habit of self-doubt. We explore how self-doubt impacts the way we see ourselves, our relationships and our lives. In our practice together we let go of self-doubt and invite in self-confidence. We commit to cultivating this felt sense of confidence in our daily life as a way of breaking free.
Lektion 7
Letting Go Of Judgement, Inviting In Compassion
In Day 7 we explore the thinking habit of judging others. We reflect on how an overly judgemental mind contracts our body and heart, fuels disconnection and limits our opportunities for meaningful relationships. In our practice together we continue to tend to the garden of our mind by letting go of judgement and inviting in compassion for all.
Lektion 8
Letting Go Of Blame, Inviting In Acceptance
In Day 8 we reflect with a warm-hearted smile on our own habits of blame. We explore how blame feels in our bodies and our hearts and how it effects our relationships. In our practice together, we let go of blame, and invite in a sense of acceptance towards ourselves, our relationships and our lives. Together, we commit to waking up to our habits of blame when life feels hard, and to gladdening our minds towards acceptance.
Lektion 9
Letting Go Of Expectation, Inviting In Appreciation
In Day 9 we pull the weeds of expectation and plant the seeds of appreciation. We explore the impact that expectations have on our thoughts, our relationships and our lives. In our practice together we open our minds, bodies and hearts to a felt sense of appreciation for the wonder of life. Together, we commit to making time each day to appreciate all that we are, and all that we have.
Lektion 10
Daring To Break Free
In Day 10 we come home to the quiet wisdom that lives within us. We rest in the space between our thoughts. We dare to ask ourselves “Who would I be without these limiting thoughts and beliefs? What would my life look and feel like?” Where attention goes, energy flows. So in our final gesture of breaking free, we set ourselves an intention, planting it deep within our hearts and the garden of our minds.
