Hello,

This is David G and welcome to today's meditation.

Yoga means union,

Therefore yoga is meditation.

And meditation is yoga.

Any practice that brings about a state of present moment awareness or a stilling of the mind is a form of meditation.

That moment during running or cycling or swimming or dancing or riding or having an orgasm or making a big sail or riding a roller coaster or practicing the eight limbs of yoga.

That moment when you are totally present in which there is no past or future,

In which time has no meaning,

Where there is no thought,

When you are totally in the zone,

That moment when you are in total sync with your body,

Your mind,

The moment,

The universe,

There is only a state of pure present moment awareness.

It is this oneness that is the true definition of yoga.

Pure being,

Pure unity.

The ancient sage Patanjali wrote in the Yoga Sutras,

Yoga citta vritti nerora.

Yoga citta vritti nerora,

Yoga oneness,

Union,

Is the progressive quieting of the fluctuations of the mind.

And if we can explore that on a daily basis,

Then that slow progression of quieting thought forms will live beyond our meditation into each moment,

Into our thoughts,

Into our words,

Into our actions.

And when we can access that space between our thoughts,

Between our breaths,

Between our words and our deeds,

Then we have truly integrated the divine flow of the universe into our being and stepped away from our most conditioned self.

So in today's meditation,

Allow yourself to feel the union,

Allow yourself to settle down and for the first part of the meditation,

We'll do that by connecting to our breath.

So together with me,

Let's close our eyes,

Let's get comfortable and let's take a long slow deep breath in through our nostrils and feel it move down into your belly and ever so gently now release it.

In those few moments,

You are not in the past,

You are not in the future,

You are fully present witnessing your breath.

So let's just witness our breath and if you'd like to place your hand on the spot,

Maybe it's your nose,

Your throat,

Your heart,

Your chest,

Your solar plexus or even your belly,

Place your hand on the spot where it seems like the breath enters you and when you notice you've drifted away to thoughts and of course you will,

Ever so gently drift back to that spot and breathe.

If you find yourself focused on a mood or a feeling or an emotion,

Ever so gently drift back to your breath and this meditation will be a gentle drifting back and forth.

So let's begin.

Let's take a deep breath in through our nostrils and feel it move down into your belly and And now,

Let's take it even deeper.

We'll use the mantra.

Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodha.

And I'll speak it in the background for the first few moments of the silent practice.

And that will allow it to embed into your being.

Use it for its vibrational quality.

And when you notice you've drifted away to thoughts or sounds or physical sensations,

Ever so gently,

Drift back to the mantra.

Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodha.

Say it with me.

Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodha.

You'll notice that you drift away.

You'll notice that it changes.

You'll notice that it speeds up and slows down.

That it gets louder or fainter even though you're repeating it silently.

It may become jumbled or vanish totally.

That's all okay.

As soon as you've realized you've drifted so far from the mantra,

Ever so gently,

Drift back.

I'll watch the time,

And when you hear me ring the chime,

Just sit gently,

With your eyes closed.

So let's begin.

So let's begin.

And now let's take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in together.

And gently let that go.

Let's do that one more time.

And gently release.

And now let's seal these sweet,

Settling,

Calming meditations by chanting the hymn of the universe,

Aom.

Take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

Aom.

And when it feels comfortable,

You can slowly open your eyes.

You can look around at those who you've shared this sweet collective consciousness with.

You can move throughout the day knowing that you've got a little bit of stillness,

A little bit of silence,

A little bit of union,

Yoga,

Oneness flowing through you.

From the sweet spot of the universe,

This is David G.

Wishing you a beautiful day of union,

Of yoga.

And wishing you Namaste.

And I'll see you in the gap.

Thank you.
