The Search For Something Greater (Talk And Poem)

During my own search for purpose, I always believed there was something greater, a deeper connection to all living things. I have come to realise that the pathway leads to inner peace and ultimately, self-love is our true purpose. In this talk, I share with you reflections and a poem, 'The Search for Something Greater', from my book.

To be seen as our true selves and have presence, We need to be clear about what we desire, Have the belief in what we do, And the courage to let go of what no longer serves us. If we do not believe in ourselves, How can others? Hi, I'm Danielle Street, And today I'm sharing a poem and some reflections from my book, My Courageous Journey. During my own search for purpose, I always believed there was something greater, A deeper connection to all living things, God, The universe, The source, Angels, Whatever it may look like for you. Growing up, However, I had created self-imposed limits, Believing that I wasn't allowed to do things differently. I hadn't given myself permission, So I felt what I wanted wasn't achievable. Adding to this, What exactly was it that I was striving for? Being a peacekeeper, Recovering perfectionist, Multi-passionate, And a deep-feeling empath, I had felt different and lacked the courage to have my own opinion, So a lot of my life I shut down to protect myself and my feelings. From my own personal healing and soul work, I've gone down the rabbit hole and investigated and researched and experienced so many different things. I was learning to move from the self-imposed limits of the victim mode, Of being stuck in trauma, And repetitive negative thinking. With this self-realization, I was able to observe and see this pattern in myself, And I could also see it being reflected back to me in others. Now on my sacred path, However, I realize that the inner journey, Like me, Is a continuum. Time is not linear, And doing the work is the work in progress. Inner peace is a place that we truly desire to be, But sometimes it can feel so elusive. Shifting my mindset and creating new neural pathways to joyful new experiences is the way I desire to live my life. And with more life experience, I have realized that the pathway to self-love is what I have craved, My true purpose. Here is my poem. The search for our sacred soul purpose and life meaning. It comes in many forms. It is a knowing, A feeling, A sensing, A communion with the divine. When you become really quiet and align with your intuition, You go deeper and hear the messages that are awaiting you. I believe in all of these things. In all the busyness we forget, To stop and to connect deeper within ourselves. To listen to what our hearts really desire. And when you take that pause, Take a breath and let go. The courage will find you. The magic of transformation will happen. And when you least expect it, Love will set you free.
