Today I'm sharing with you one of my poems from my book My Courageous Journey.

My name's Danielle Street.

I love to write and over the years when I felt the need to process my thoughts or feelings I found that writing and in particular poetry can be a really beautiful experience to express how you're feeling.

My poem is called and my authentic voice set me free.

I cannot unknow what I now know I cannot take back what I have or haven't said.

I have spoken my truth and peeled back layers to stretch my boundaries and find myself.

I have given freely and held space,

Witnessed in circle and in the mirror.

I am no longer who I was.

I have stepped into the essence of love embracing my shadow to reveal my light.

I am seen and heard.

My authentic voice set me free.
