Welcome to this guided meditation.
Today we will embark on a journey to connect with our ancestors,
Those who came before us both known and unknown,
Those from this life or perhaps those from a previous life you might have lived.
This is a time to relax,
Center yourself,
And open your heart and mind to the wisdom they have to share.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
Feel the weight of your body as you allow it to settle into the surface beneath you.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Filling your lungs completely,
And then slowly exhale through your mouth.
Let's take a few more deep breaths together,
This time holding for a few seconds before exhaling.
Let's begin.
Inhale deeply through the nose,
Hold it,
And exhale slowly through the mouth.
Again,
Inhale,
Fully expanding your lungs,
Hold,
And exhale,
Emptying them completely.
And one more,
Inhale deeply,
Hold,
And exhale.
And as you return to breathing naturally and comfortably,
Feel yourself becoming more relaxed and present in this moment.
Now gently close your eyes if you haven't already and bring your awareness to your body.
Notice any areas of tension,
Tightness,
Or discomfort.
With each exhalation,
Imagine releasing that tension with each outgoing breath.
Let's do a quick body scan as you continue to breathe comfortably.
Begin at the top of your head and relax your forehead.
Soften your eyes and release any tightness in your jaw.
Now move down to your neck and shoulders.
Allow them to drop away from your ears,
Feeling the weight of the world lift and dissolve.
Continue down through your arms and let them rest comfortably by your sides.
Feel the rise and fall of your chest.
With each breath,
Feel more grounded and centered.
Bring awareness to your abdomen,
Allow it to soften as you continue to breathe deeply.
And finally,
Move down and focus on your legs and feet.
Feel them heavy and relaxed against the surface beneath you.
And now breathe deeply and evenly,
And imagine a warm wave of relaxation washing over you from head to toe.
A gentle tide of energy that brings peace to your emotional being and tranquility to your physical body.
It envelops you like a comfortable,
Warm blanket.
And now that you are relaxed,
Let's take a moment to center ourselves.
Visualize a soft,
Warm,
Golden light glowing at the very center of your being.
This light represents your inner strength and connection to everything that is.
With each inhalation,
Imagine this light growing brighter and expanding throughout your body.
Feel it radiating warmth through every cell,
Filling you with peace and clarity.
And as you exhale,
Visualize any worries or distractions dissolving into the air around you.
You are here now,
Fully present in this moment.
Repeat these three things silently to yourself.
I am connected.
I am safe.
And I am open to receive.
Now that we are centered and calm,
Let's begin our journey to connect with our ancestors.
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a beautiful forest or meadow,
A sacred space to you that feels welcoming and safe.
The air is fresh,
Filled with the scent of earth and nature's greenery.
As you step forward into this space,
You notice a path ahead of you.
This path is a stunning and beautiful creation of nature,
Lined with trees that have witnessed generations come and go.
Each step you take brings you closer to connecting with those who have walked before you.
With each step along this path,
Invite in the presence of your ancestors,
Those whom you know personally as well as those from generations past whom you may not have met.
They can be from years ago or decades or centuries or even longer in the past.
They can be from this current life or perhaps from past lives you might have lived.
Slowly visualize them gathering around you and understand that they may take many forms.
Some may appear clearly,
While others may be felt as gentle energies or whispers in the wind.
Be attuned to sounds and smells and feelings in addition to what you see.
Take a moment now to acknowledge their presence and say silently,
Thank you for being here with me and I am open to your wisdom.
In this sacred space,
Surrounded by your ancestors walking with you along the path,
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Open yourself up fully to receive their wisdom.
You may wish to ask them a question,
Something that has been on your mind or in your heart.
It could be about guidance in your life,
Understanding family patterns,
Seeking clarity on personal challenges or anything that you feel you can ask.
Take a few moments now to spend time with them,
Visit and listen closely for any messages they may share with you,
Whether through words,
Feelings,
Images or sensations.
Allow whatever comes up to flow naturally without judgment or bias,
And trust their wisdom and their message.
And if nothing comes immediately,
Simply trust that their wisdom is being imparted in ways that may unfold later.
And always be receptive and open to communication from them in ways that you might not expect.
Take a few moments now for the visit.
As we prepare to close this meditation,
Take a moment to express gratitude for the presence of your ancestors and for any insights they have shared with you today.
Visualize them surrounding you once more in love and support as you begin to make your way back along the path through the forest or meadow.
With each step back towards where you began,
Carry their wisdom within you,
A light that guides you forward in life,
A divine beacon to follow.
And when you're ready,
As you continue to breathe comfortably and gently,
Slowly bring your awareness back to the room around you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Gently stretch your muscles if you wish,
And take one final deep breath in,
Hold it,
And exhale slowly.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes and look around to reacquaint yourself with your physical surroundings.

You can return whenever you need guidance or support or wish to visit with those who have come before.
Carry their wisdom within you as you move through life with confidence and grace.
