Welcome to this Cancer Season Meditation.
This time of year invites us to embrace the nurturing,
Intuitive,
And enriching energies of cancer.
Together,
Let's begin our journey inward.
To start,
Find a comfortable position,
Whether that is seated or laying down.
Give yourself a few moments to find a position where your body is supported.
May help to lift your shoulders up,
Back,
And down,
Opening up your chest,
Finding a neutral pelvis by imagining your belly button touching your spine without sucking in your belly.
Your palms can be faced upward or downward,
Pressed against your body.
Once you've found a comfortable position,
Settle into your body and mind by closing your eyes and deepening your breath.
As you inhale,
Feel the nourishing breath spread throughout your body,
And as you exhale,
Imagine any stress or tension leaving your body and mind.
Cancer is ruled by the moon,
Symbolizing our inner worlds,
Our emotions,
And our intuition.
It's extremely powerful during this season to connect with the moon for a sense of grounding and ease.
With your next inhale,
Visualize the moonlight shining its soft,
Silver light over the space that you're in.
Let this light touch all of the nooks and crannies,
Eventually bathing you in a sense of peace,
Comfort,
And emotional clarity.
Can you imagine that all sentient beings receive this ease with this moonlight just as you do,
Not only during this cancer season,
But also every single night the moon shines upon us.
Visualize the sensations in your body as you imagine all beings free to live with ease and joy,
To live with good health and liberation.
Allow for these sensations to be absorbed into your body,
To your bones,
Ligaments,
And muscles,
Into the cartilage of your body,
Until it finds a home in each of the trillion cells in your being.
Allow for your body to remember this feeling and ask for it to stay with you throughout this season.
Your next inhale,
Bring your awareness back to your breath,
Once again noticing the sounds and the colors in your environment as you move and transition to your next stage in your day.
When you are ready,
Gently invite a movement back into your body.
You can start by wiggling your toes or your fingers.
Maybe you want to sway side to side or give yourself a hug.
When your body is ready to do so,
You can gently open your eyes.
Be sure to give yourself a few moments before continuing on with your day.
