Welcome to Cultivate Your Wellness.
I'm Laura and I'm happy to be here with you today.
Today's meditation is an opportunity to heighten our connection with the elements of earth and air,
To bring our attention to our outward intentions,
Reaching into the heavens toward our fullest expression and potential,
And at the same time grounding deeply into the nourishing and humbling energy of the earth.
Let's begin.
Let's take a few minutes to bring our bodies and our minds to a place of stillness,
Finding a comfortable position.
You could be sitting up or lying down,
First checking in with the body,
Noticing any tension you might be holding,
Taking a deep breath in,
And with the exhale settling deeper into relaxation.
Breathing in,
Scanning the body,
The jaw,
The shoulders,
The belly,
And with the release of the breath letting everything go,
Continuing to breathe,
Bringing your attention to the mind,
Noticing any thoughts that may be trying to linger,
Acknowledging them for what they are,
Just thoughts,
And allowing them to float by,
Remembering we always have the breath to focus our attention on,
And surrendering into quiet stillness.
On your next inhale,
Feeling the air as it enters your body,
Connecting with its great energy,
That which sustains life,
Feeling the coolness in your nose,
Your lungs as you inhale,
Picturing the oxygen as it courses through your vessels,
Nourishing your heart,
Your brain,
Your whole body,
Filling our life force,
Giving us the energy to move into action,
Think deeper,
To reach higher toward our greatest potential,
Feeling this energy building in your body and your mind,
Believing in your ability to receive this power,
Believing in its ability to utilize your strengths,
And again bringing your attention to your physical body,
Feeling its connection to the earth beneath you,
The stable ground you move along all day that holds you throughout the night,
Taking the opportunity in this moment of pause to bring your attention to where you are planted,
Trying to picture your energy rooting deeply down into the earth with the same intensity it longs to reach towards the heavens,
Bringing your awareness to its stability,
Just as we need the air for nourishment,
We likewise need the earth,
Its grounding energy gives us the stability we need to flourish,
Feeding our growth,
Both with its food and its wisdom,
Feel the great connection between these two elements,
The earth and the air,
Each playing their part in the harmonious symphony of life,
A unhindered exchange,
Allowing your body to be a vessel for this exchange,
Unlocking any stagnant energy,
Letting it move freely with its gifts,
I'll give you a few more moments to explore this meditation on your own,
Believe you have the wisdom to guide yourself,
Taking a few more moments to bring your attention back to the breath,
Back to the space around you,
Taking stock of the energy you have embraced and cultivated during this meditation,
And when you're ready,
Opening the eyes.
