This guided meditation is brought to you by Anantajiva.

Com Welcome to your first guided meditation.

The eventual goal of a consistent meditative practice is to be able to not pay attention,

React or identify with the thoughts traveling through your mind.

When you reach this place,

It is commonly called the gap,

The space between thoughts.

This space is where you are in direct communion with your higher self and with however you identify God.

Meditation is not about trying to eliminate the thoughts that occur,

Meditation is the ability to not pay attention to them.

It takes time and practice to reach this space.

It's not a race or a competition.

Be patient.

Don't focus your attention on whether you're doing it right.

The most important thing that you can do is to be open,

Allow without force,

Experience without controlling.

Just let it happen however it happens.

You will notice that you will have many thoughts while you are learning to meditate and that's completely normal.

The mind can become very noisy like a five year old trying to get your attention when you are first learning to meditate.

The trick is just to allow the thoughts to pass you by without paying attention to them.

If the thought is stubborn or you find that you have wandered off thinking about something,

Simply redirect your attention to your breath.

Please find a comfortable seated or lying position,

Take a deep breath and close your eyes.

For a moment,

Let's visualize,

Pretend or imagine that you are walking barefoot on extremely soft grass along a path in a beautiful meadow.

You don't have anywhere to be so your pace is relaxed and comfortable.

The sun is bright and you can feel the healing and nourishing rays warm your body.

Take a deep breath.

The air you are breathing is clean and refreshing.

You can feel your lungs filled with vitality.

Take another deep breath and notice how you begin to feel more relaxed and grounded.

As you continue down the path,

Notice there's a thicket of trees up ahead and you can now make out the sound of water.

Just walk over to the trees and find a place near the creek and then I invite you to sit down.

The air is comfortably cool in the shade of the trees.

You can hear a slight breeze stir the leaves above you.

Take a deep breath.

Allow your attention to be drawn to the creek next to you.

The water is crystal clear.

The sound of the water is very soothing and helps you to relax just a little bit more.

As your gaze softens,

You notice a large green leaf floating lazily in the current like a little boat.

Watch as it offers no resistance to the flow of the water as it zigzags its way closer to you.

Take a deep breath and allow yourself to exhale any remaining tension you may have been holding onto.

In this space,

Allow everything in your mind to just float past you just like the leaf offering no resistance in the current.

Allow your thoughts to just drift by.

There's no need to pay attention to them.

There's nothing more important in this moment than to experience your inner state of peace.

If you find yourself wandering off into thought,

Simply redirect your attention to the current and how it feels to breathe.

Slowly bring your attention back to your body.

Gently become aware of your body and the room that you are meditating in.

Take a deep breath and center yourself and open your eyes.

Thank you for joining us and may you have a blissful day.

Just got the CEO of my company to meditate for the first time in his life -- this provided a good vehicle for his initial plunge, and for our team to participate together.

I have a massive trouble trying to relax and not worry about things. I've tried various things to ease this and have even turned to trying drugs to ease my worries but nothing has worked. Today I decided to give meditation a go and I've never been so relaxed in quite some time. I can't wait to try out some other ones. :)

Great meditation for first timers or those like myself, who haven't meditated in a long time easing yourself back into the habit ;) It's also short enough so that you don't become impatient. Baby steps ;)
