During the winter solstice, the earth seems to slumber--calling us to also take a time of rest so that we will be recharged by the sun's return. I wrote this poem with a restful and peaceful winter season in mind. Blessed be.

Transcript

There is stillness upon the earth as we celebrate the sun's rebirth.

The weather is cold and the nights are longer.

We stoke the hearth fire to make it stronger.

Upon our table the yule log burns as,

Once again,

The great wheel turns.

We hold the winter solstice so dear and celebrate with loved ones,

Both far and near.

Quiet and stillness blanket the land.

This familiar message we understand.

Just like nature,

Our rest has begun,

Till we awaken to,

Once again,

Welcome the sun.
