Monsoons in the American desert southwest are a powerful time of cleansing and regeneration as rain pours forth upon the parched ground. This short talk explores the spiritual and magickal aspects of monsoon rains, concluding with a sound bath of nature sounds and shamanic drumming for drawing forth and working with the healing energy of rain. This offering is from the Wiccan perspective, but all relationships are honored and welcome.

In southern Arizona,

We have a monsoon season each year,

And it's actually classified as its own season.

The monsoon season begins when prevailing winds shift from west to southeast,

Bringing moisture in from the Gulf.

In the afternoons,

We see giant clouds form.

These clouds regularly give way to strong winds and heavy downpours in a short amount of time,

Lightning,

And flash flooding.

That might sound terrifying to some,

But it isn't.

In fact,

It's beautiful.

These sometimes violent storms bring us the bulk of our natural yearly rainfall and make wildflowers abound everywhere.

Once the storms subside,

The smell of creosote fills the air like incense,

And the aroma is nothing short of divine.

People head outside en masse for an afterstorm walk to enjoy an almost instant cool down in the middle of summer.

Therein lies the real and undeniable magic of this season,

An entire community coming together for the enjoyment of something so spectacular that it transcends all differences and divisions.

That's nature's message to us at this time.

The creosote bush has magical properties that aid in the purification of spaces.

Its essence is known to bring about harmony and balance.

By the way it thrives in such an arid climate,

Creosote symbolizes the body's ability to heal,

And it represents fresh starts.

This is exactly the energy we will be calling upon during this sound bath.

I invite you to join me in sending harmony,

Balance,

Fresh starts,

And unity to all people in all places.

Let us be the rain that brings compassion,

Comfort,

And promise to every parched landscape we encounter.

Goddess bring the rain down,

Giving life unto the ground,

Energy to feed the seed,

A healthy harvest bring with speed.

Cleanse the earth with rain from above,

Bringing to all people peace and love.

Goddess bring the rain down.

The crow flies from me to thee,

To send the message,

Blessed be.

We live near the Canadian border in one of the wettest places in the country. The older I get the more the short, dark, wet days have weighed on me. However, last Fall a tug on the heart told me I needed to change my mindset and embrace the rain. It was no coincidence that I discovered Paganism and the Wheel of the Year in late Fall, right before the rain returned. Celebrating the importance of every season, every element has been such a shift! As I I listened to your meditation/music just now I found myself thinking “I don’t mind that it’s July, we need a good rain storm!” Thank you. Blessed be

Merry meet friend. I am so happy you decided to make a track About the monsoon season. Wicca is so much about the seasons and nature so I'm thankful you made this. I learned so much more. I loved how you described things. Also really really enjoyed the sound bath you made for this the rain in the background. I will keep this track bookmarked So I can enjoy this many many times. Blessed be Crow moon
