
Chakra Balancing For Energetic Blockages

Each chakra is linked with a particular aspect of our lives. Sometimes there can be energetic blockages surrounding these vortexes, and this meditation will assist you in getting the Prana moving again throughout the body.

Welcome.
I'm so glad you have chosen to go within and participate in the practice of mindfulness today.
This meditation will help you focus on healing and restoring the seven main chakras in the body.
Chakra in Sanskrit means wheel.
The term is usually associated with seven focal points consisting of vibrant energy within the subtle body.
These wheels are centered around the base of your spine,
Lower abdomen,
Solar plexus,
Heart,
Throat,
Third eye space,
And the crown of your head.
Each chakra is linked with a particular aspect of our lives.
Sometimes there can be energetic blockages surrounding these vortexes,
And this meditation will assist you in getting the prana moving again throughout the body.
Let us prepare for our mindfulness practice now.
Come to a comfortable seated cross-legged position.
Make sure that some part of the body is making contact with the earth beneath you.
Whether it's your feet,
Your sits bones,
Or your back body.
You can choose to elevate the hips slightly above the feet by sitting upon a meditation cushion,
A pillow,
Bolster,
Or yoga block.
Your other option is to sit against a wall or lie down on your back.
If you feel like you'll fall asleep when lying down,
Stay in a seated position.
Gently bring your eyes to close.
Sit tall through the spine and relax your shoulders down and away from your ears.
Soften the creases around the eyes.
Relax the forehead and unfurl the brow.
Soften your cheeks and release the bottom teeth from the top teeth.
Feel a slight tuck of the chin,
Noticing the natural curvature of your spine from the base to the crown.
Bring awareness to the quality of your breath,
Noticing the pace of your inhalations and your exhalations.
Begin by taking a full breath into the lungs and a full breath out.
First,
Breathe in for a count of six and out for the count of six.
Inhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Pause.
Exhale six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Pause.
Inhale and exhale,
Continuing this pace of your breath,
Deeply breathing in through the nostrils,
Allowing the diaphragm to drop and pause.
Breathing out through pursed lips or simply breathing out of the nose,
Allowing the diaphragm to relax on the out breath.
Continue this breath a few more times on your own until your breath fades into a gentle,
Subtle rhythm.
In your mind's eye,
Bring awareness to the base of your spine.
This is your root chakra.
Send your breath down to the tip of your tailbone.
Imagine roots growing down from the sits bones into the core of the earth beneath you.
Feel the ground rise up to catch and support you.
Observe your worries washing away.
You are here now.
You are alive and you are cared for.
You are protected.
Allow your eyes to close gently as the waves of your worries grow still and subside.
Calm waters,
Eyes closed.
You are safe.
Take a deep,
Long breath in.
Feel the breath in every inch of your body as you exhale.
Visualize your breath as it travels through your nose,
Down your throat and into your lungs.
Feel your chest expand as the breath filters through your lungs.
Feel the air go down into your belly,
Your pelvic bone and thighs.
Focus on the end of your tailbone and see your root chakra.
You are floating on a red swirling disk of energy.
Watch as the red light grows larger,
Expands across your lower back.
The red light is warm and soothing.
Feel the red light like a supportive hand on your lower back.
Let the light spread across your entire extremities to allow healing to take place.
Now shift your awareness a little upward to the sacral chakra.
The space above your root at or near the pubic bone.
With the eyes closed,
Allow the earth again to rise up and catch you.
Feel yourself in the present moment and know that you are loved and supported.
Visualize in your mind the stillness of the earth,
The perfectly smooth line that you are sitting on.
Let that line become your horizon and your freedom.
At this moment,
You are free.
Begin to visualize a large orange disk right below the navel.
Embrace the sweetness of this moment,
The sweetness of your life now.
Take note of the things that bring you joy and pleasure.
Delicious food or the loving touch of your friend or partner.
Watch as the bright orange color slowly dissipates into an ocean,
Turning the waves orange and bright like the sun.
Watch as this ocean gently spreads out through your body.
Feel the waves run down your thighs,
Into your calves and all the way down to your toes.
Watch as the gust of water rushes up your spine and begins to fill every inch of skin.
It runs down your arms,
Fingers and all the way up to the crown of your head.
The water flows warm,
The waves have your back.
You are free like the ocean within you.
You are free.
You are free.
Change your attention to the center of your torso,
The solar plexus chakra near the belly button.
Feel your lower limbs grow heavy and still until you can no longer distinguish between them and the earth on which you sit.
Turn your attention to the bright yellow flame in your solar plexus right beneath your ribcage,
Your epicenter.
Visualize your inner sun and see it burst into flames.
What you see is your passion,
Your center,
Your inner fire.
As the fire grows,
So does your power.
Watch as the fire within you spreads.
Visualize yourself breaking free.
You are free to spread your wings.
Feel the power flood every pore as you glide through the sky.
You are empowered.
You are strong.
You are courageous.
You are confident.
Now bring your attention to the heart space,
The center of your chest,
Anahata chakra.
The chakra that connects the lower three chakras to the higher ones.
Visualize a bright ball of green energy,
Emerald green.
This ball is the most beautiful jewel you have ever seen.
You reach out your hand and gently wrap your fingers around the green ball of light.
Slowly,
As though you were moving through honey,
Drag the ball down the spine towards your root.
And draw the light back up from the root to the center of your chest,
Connecting your lower chakras to the upper chakras.
This emerald jewel is for your heart.
As you rise up along the spine,
Repeat to yourself this affirmation.
I am generous.
I am loved.
I take this jewel for my family and friends because it will delight them as it delights me.
I am loved and this jewel is proof of my worth.
With each inhale,
See the vibrant jewel of light grow a little bigger.
With each exhale,
Watch it become a little brighter,
Expanding and beaming out from the center of your chest through the back of your body.
Breathe in and breathe out.
You are love.
You are joy.
You are one with others.
Now,
Shift your attention up to the throat chakra.
To open your throat chakra,
You'll need a lot of moving breath.
You simply need to breathe in and out.
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
In and out.
Take three deep,
Long breaths.
Count them in your mind.
In,
Out,
Pause.
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
And pause.
One more time,
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
And pause.
When your lungs have become filled with air,
Begin slowly going down through your body,
Starting from the top of your head.
As you go,
Imagine each muscle relax.
Let go.
Surrender.
Relax your mouth.
Let go in your throat.
Release your chest.
Soften in your belly and relax your hips.
Let go in the thighs and completely surrender.
Slowly travel back up to your throat.
Realize your throat chakra.
You see a blue spinning wheel at throat level.
As the wheel spins,
You see it glowing and expanding.
The disc grows and spins faster and faster.
It draws lots of energy in this space.
All the energy that you were holding in your muscles has gone into this bright blue spinning wheel.
The more the disc of light expands,
The more relaxation you feel in your throat.
When the disc grows too big for you to hold on to,
Simply let go.
Feel all the pent up energy inside that wheel expand and flow through your body.
Now shift your attention upward to the space between your eyebrows.
See the inner sides of your two eyebrows connecting to one another.
And the two ends meet at a third point slightly above the eyebrows forming a triangle shape on your forehead.
This is your third eye chakra.
Bring attention to the very top of your head.
As you sit,
Feel your forehead growing light and your thinking mind fall quiet.
Let any worries and thoughts fall silent.
As you slowly breathe in through the nose and out through your mouth,
Feel your lower body grow heavy and your upper body grow light as a feather.
Feel the freedom and the airflow through your limbs and all the way into your forehead.
Feel your forehead grow cool and weightless.
Slowly,
As you rid yourself of all thoughts and worries,
Begin to visualize a small purple ball at the center of your forehead.
As your two normal eyes are closed and sightless,
Your third eye begins to expand and grow,
Accumulating more and more energy as it goes.
See this purple ball glow and grow larger,
But not heavier.
Your third eye is also light as a feather.
As the purple ball begins to push against the edges of your forehead,
Feel it push against them and burst open.
Imagine the purple energy of your third eye flowing freely through your body.
Head,
Throat,
Chest,
Belly,
And legs.
Feel them all drenched in this wonderful purple energy.
Now,
Shift your attention to the crown chakra,
The very top of your head and slightly above.
As you feel your body relax,
Begin to picture a beautiful flower bud on the top of your head.
Breathe slowly and with each breath,
Begin to see this flower a little clearer.
It is a young lotus flower bud.
Continue to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.
As your breath grows deeper and steadier,
You notice the lotus flower on the top of your head slowly begin to bloom and open.
Breathe.
See the petals expanding and the lotus flower begin to shine a bright shimmering gold.
As you breathe,
A dim violet light begins to shine through the lotus.
See that with each breath,
The violet light becomes a little brighter and a little more until the whole room becomes bathed in violet light and the crown of your head can barely contain it.
Take three more breaths and then release the violet light.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Now let go.
See the bright violet light flow through your body and the lotus flower sit majestically atop your head.
You are healed.
You are free.
Start to release your meditation.
With the eyes still closed,
Bring your awareness back to your physical body.
Bring a tiny bit of movement into the fingers and the toes.
Bring the shoulders up toward the ears and then roll them down and back,
Creating space for your neck.
Bring the palms together at your heart center,
Connecting the palms of the hands and touching the thumbs to the sternum.
Draw the heart a little more forward as you sit up a bit taller.
Draw the chin down to the chest as you drop any remaining stress or tension within the mind into the heart space.
Like a flip book,
Start to see all the images of people,
Of places,
Of memories that bring you joy.
And allow this to be your focus today as you move about in any interaction,
In any situation.
