Welcome to your meditation class today.
My name is Shannon Moyer-Semenier,
And today I'm going to be leading you in a transformational breath practice.
So wherever you are joining me from today,
I encourage you to find somewhere comfortable to sit.
It's really important that you are sitting for today's practice,
As you're going to be employing the skull-shining breath,
Kapalabhakti.
It's an incredible breath for transforming your current circumstances and feeling a little bit of empowerment at the same time.
With feet firmly planted on the floor,
I encourage you to bring one hand to your belly and one hand up on your chest.
Having this body connection between breath is really important today.
We're going to be breathing down into the belly.
But to begin,
I invite you to just get really nice and comfortable with your body,
To breathe in and out within your own natural rhythm while closing the windows of your eyes.
Coming into a space of safety and calm,
Allowing an opportunity to just be regulated here in this moment.
Put that to-do list away.
As you breathe down into the hand on your belly,
The hand on your heart keeps you grounded.
It's your anchor into the here and the now,
The present moment.
If you're unfamiliar with the skull-shining breath,
It is a deep inhale through the nose and a quick forceful exhale through the mouth.
Let's practice it once together,
And then I'll lead you in the transformative breath practice for today.
Breathing in deeply in through your nose,
Down into your belly,
And forcefully out through the mouth.
That breath out,
That exhalation is forceful.
You should be able to feel it and hear it.
One more time before we start our breath practice today,
Breathing in deeply in through the nose,
Down into the belly,
Feeling your belly swell and out forcefully.
It doesn't have to be perfect.
It might feel uncomfortable,
But the spaces of transformation that we will be going to today are spaces where things will change,
Where clarity will be attained,
Where you'll pull up this sense of inner power and strength.
You'll find a new version of yourself.
When you feel ready,
We're going to start the process of Kapalbhakti today.
Breathing in deeply through the nose and out.
And again.
Keep going.
Keep going.
Feeling yourself getting swept away.
Your heart beating faster.
Your head feeling lofty.
Feeling lofty.
Making that audible noise.
And coming to pause.
Letting it be quiet.
Letting it be quiet.
Letting it be soft.
Feeling that wooziness,
Being swept away,
That wave-like motion in,
Through and out of your body.
And starting to consider,
How do you want to transform today?
Maybe there's something you've been wanting to achieve,
But you feel a little bit less than.
Maybe there is something you want to attain,
But you don't feel worthy.
This breath practice stirs up all of that static energy and on that forceful exhale,
Takes it out of your body.
It makes space.
It creates room.
It creates room for you to invite in those things that are incredible,
Purposeful,
Meaningful.
It pushes us forward into a higher sense of self,
Into a truer sense of self.
So as we do our next round of this skull-shining breath,
Breathing up,
Through,
Out,
Forcefully,
What is it that you want?
How do you want to transform your space,
Your inner space?
Starting our breath practice again,
Down deeply into your belly,
Hand on your belly,
The other hand on your heart to keep you grounded.
In through the nose,
Down into the belly,
And out forcefully,
Again,
And again,
Getting faster,
Transforming,
Empowering,
Feeling swept away,
Getting louder,
And pause,
Bowing your head.
If there is one thing about this body connection,
Body breath,
This forceful exhalation,
If there is one thing that you could gather up,
One thing that you could take from today as your piece of transformation,
What would that be?
How can this breath transform your current circumstances,
Empower you in this moment to achieve those things that you want,
To attain those things that you want,
Those things that you want.
What do you want?
Now one last round of this breath,
Breathing in deeply down into that hand on your belly,
And out with force,
And again,
And faster.
And now one last moment of pause,
Taking both hands and putting them up on your chest into that heart space today,
Knowing that you are in this moment of peace,
Feeling the flow of the breath,
Feeling the flow of the breath,
Feeling the flow of the breath,
Taking both hands and putting them up on your chest into that heart space today,
Nurturing and cultivating that inner sense of self.
What do you want?
Today is your day of transformation.
If you have it available to you,
Grabbing a journal,
A space to write down what these inner desires and wants are,
How will you use this breath going forward into a space of transformation?
How will you take control of your own sense of self to push forward,
To achieve and attain?
You are worthy of those things.
You are deserving of those achievements.
And today with this transformational breath,
You can carry yourself there as you return that breath back to normal and you open the windows of your eyes today.
I thank you for joining me in this practice,
And I can't wait to see what it is you transform,
What you achieve,
What things you pull into your space and command as yours.
Take today as your day one of transformation and see how far you can push those limits.
Thank you for trusting me with your breath today.
I'll see you next time.
