Autumn allows the trees to shed their burdens and wrap up for the nurturing winter months, ready for regrowth in Spring. This transformation is a wonderful thing to become in tune with. We tend to tuck ourselves away with the longer nights and colder days. We can use this time for nurture and reflection, ready to flourish once more in spring. Using a grounding and reflective tree visulisation, join me in the autumnal forest for intention setting and surrender.

Thank you for joining me for my Autonomous Transformation Meditation today.

Just begin by making sure you're as comfortable as you can be.

Making sure you're as warm as you can be.

Ready to settle in and arrive for your meditation practice.

If you haven't already just begin to allow the eyes to softly close.

Feel the touch of your blanket if you have one or the weight of your head on a pillow.

The feel of your feet on the ground.

As we begin to invite the restful feeling of surrender.

Easing into calm.

Easing into peace.

Your body moving softly with your breath.

Begin to bring your attention inwards to your inner experience.

Any thoughts or any sensations.

There is no need to analyze or add any energy to this experience.

Just have your attention gently resting here.

Begin to notice the sensation of air moving into and out of your body.

Notice the physical sensation of breathing down into your chest,

Your stomach,

Feeling a soft expansion and soft contraction.

Just inhaling and exhaling.

Choose this time to lengthen and deepen your breath.

Allowing it time to gather stagnant energy within and release this with each exhalation.

Breathing out what does not serve you for this practice.

An emotion,

Any tension within the body.

Breathing in to gather it and breathing out to release.

Following each breath from beginning to end.

Inhale to gather.

Exhale to release.

Inhale to gather.

Exhale to release.

Continue breathing this way on your own for a few more rounds.

And now gently allow your breath to return to its own natural rhythm.

Whatever is comfortable for you.

Keeping our awareness with the sensation of the breath as it anchors us,

Keeps us in the present moment.

Anchored to this morning,

This sensation,

This practice and point in time.

By noticing the experience of our breath it strengthens the muscle of mindfulness.

Allows us to truly live for now.

Rooting you,

Grounding you here in this time for nurture.

Just breathing in and breathing out.

Thoughts may come as naturally as the seasons change but we don't have to attach ourselves to these thoughts.

We can let them drift by.

Congratulate yourself on noticing if your mind begins to wander.

Find a kindness for yourself and simply return to breathing in and breathing out in your own sanctuary of mindfulness.

In this meditation we honor autumn.

This season relates to the element metal related to the organs of the lungs and large intestine.

When we breathe consciously and deeply we massage these organs inviting nourishment,

Healing and health.

When these organs are in balance we gain strength and courage to feel the slow expanse of our lungs induces the relaxation response.

Nature's way of reassuring you all will be well.

Breathe in this strength and nourishment.

Breathe out desire for control in all areas of our lives.

Loosening the grip on the reality of change.

While remaining anchored by your soft breath I offer you a visualization.

I invite you to imagine a forest.

In your mind's eye see the rich colors of autumn all around you.

The soft beams of sunlight highlighting reds,

Yellows,

The warm browns of the trees and Earth's floor.

I invite you to imagine yourself as one of these beautiful trees set in the stillness of the woodland.

Your branches are spread wide,

Decorated with crisp leaves rustling gently in the breeze.

Your roots extend deep into the soil grounding you,

Holding you.

The warm Sun is shining upon you offering you nourishment and growth.

You have grown and adapted through each new era.

Changing with each season.

Your branches sometimes full,

Sometimes empty.

Shedding and restoring yourself with the inevitable changes that our world creates.

Not fighting it but surrendering to its plan,

Its beauty in each new era.

You remain calm,

Strong through every storm.

Not tense but naturally and effortlessly rooted.

As autumn begins its slow emergence,

Imagine each of your leaves as things that do not serve you.

Each leaf is something that causes you stress or anxiety,

Your worries,

Any self-judgment,

Any self-criticism.

It is time to release them.

Slowly let each one naturally and effortlessly loosen its grip from the branch.

A gentle surrender as it lands lightly on the ground to fade away organically and effortlessly so you can be free to feel calm,

Relaxed and happy in this moment.

This moment is what we have.

The past has gone,

The future has not happened.

We shed ourselves,

Restore ourselves,

Going into a place of nurture for the colder months.

Finding quiet and stillness so that we can re-emerge in spring,

Refreshed and renewed.

You can bring yourself back to the forest anytime you choose.

In mindfulness and meditation our roots strengthen with each practice and personal growth flourishes for positive transformation.

As we transition into the season of autumn I invite you to set an intention to carry with you through these nurturing months to carry you into spring.

To do this I ask you to rest with the question how do I wish to nurture myself this season?

This may be to create a space at home that is just for you or to practice self-care each day.

Whatever you choose is right for you.

You may wish to silently verbalize this for yourself such as this season I will practice self-care each day or this season I will honor my needs.

Sit with your intention now breathing in your intention and breathing your intention out into the universe.

You May all the energy of autumn transcend into your life as you accept it is time for transformation and reflection.

As the leaves fall away from their branches life flows and changes peacefully.

I bid you let go of anything that is not serving you positively and make way for many new blessings.

You can begin to bring your attention back to the sensation of your body now as you begin to awaken by finding some small movement in the fingers or toes perhaps flexing the feet or having a stretch.

And when you are ready bring your hands together to your heart space and thank yourself for committing your mind body and soul to the practice of meditation.
