Are you ready to meditate with Corey?
Make sure that you're laying in your bed and you're really comfortable.
Check that the light is just right in your room,
You're wearing your cozy pyjamas and everything is good in the world so that you can relax and let go of your busy,
Busy day.
Stephanie was super excited.
It was Autumn,
Her most favorite time of the year.
Autumn was the time of the year where she got to experience and celebrate and revel in the whole Halloween experience.
She loved Autumn.
She had a candle in her bedroom that was called Autumn Pumpkins and it smelled so,
So good.
She had orange lights,
Fairy lights around her headboard in her bedroom.
She loved Halloween.
She loved hanging out with her friends at Halloween.
She loved how her mom decorated the house for Halloween.
She liked the spookiness of Halloween,
Being scared,
But at the same time not too scared,
Just scared enough to make you adrenaline race,
To make you feel like you were completely alive,
But not scared like real scared,
Scared like when you watch a scary movie that's not too scary.
She was sat in her bedroom,
Her whole bedroom was illuminated with this beautiful golden orange lights that were around her bed and it felt really cozy.
It was raining and windy and cold outside and she was warm in her bedroom with her lights and her Autumn Pumpkin candle.
She got on her comfy,
Plaid,
Wooly,
Warm pajamas,
Her slippers and her most favorite fuzzy socks that had pumpkins on them.
She was writing in her journal,
Thinking about life,
Writing about her friends,
Writing about what she was going to do for Halloween,
What she was going to dress up as,
Who she was going to be,
All of that stuff.
She decided that it might be fun to go to Moonbow Forest.
I wonder if they ever do Halloween at Moonbow Forest,
She thought,
As she was thinking about other things,
What Halloween would be like at Moonbow Forest,
If they even celebrated Halloween at Moonbow Forest.
She was absentmindedly grabbing her earrings from her jewelry box on the dresser where she was sat.
She picked up the earrings and started to put them into her ears.
Then she closed her eyes,
Went back in her comfortable chair that she has at her desk and took a big,
Deep breath.
She breathed all the way down to her toes.
And in the time it took her a breath,
A full cycle to inhale and then exhale,
She already felt the tingles inside of her toes and her fingers and her nose.
She felt that familiar sensation flooding through her whole body,
Until she started to see the veil.
The veil between this world,
Her world,
And the world of Moonbow Forest beyond.
The silvery,
Shimmery curtain was there in front of her face.
She took a big,
Deep breath.
Still being on this side of the curtain,
All that she could smell was her autumn,
Pumpkin-flavored candle.
It made her feel warm and cozy inside.
And then once again,
Just on automatic pilot,
She reached one of her hands out and pulled the curtain to one side.
She stepped right into Moonbow Forest.
The funny thing is,
This time,
Stephanie didn't feel the grass underneath her feet.
This time,
Stephanie didn't smell the fresh grass and all the fresh smells that she normally smells with Moonbow Forest.
Stephanie smelt what smelt like damp,
Wet earth,
Leaves.
Like when you walk through the forest and you can smell the damp earth and the leaves and the foliage all around you.
It smelt like really rich,
Dark soil.
To the point where it almost made her mouth water,
It smelt so good.
Like she would love to be a plant,
Potted,
With her feet deep in that kind of soil.
All rich and dark and minerally.
When she opened her eyes,
The first thing she did was look down at her feet.
She saw her fuzzy pumpkin socks and her slippers and yellow,
Orange,
Gold,
Brown,
And a few green leaves beneath her feet.
She looked up and noticed that most of the trees had barely any leaves on them.
A lot of them were completely bare of leaves,
As if they were naked there in the forest.
All of the leaves were on the ground,
Turning into mulch,
Eventually turning into soil and dirt and going back into the earth.
The smell was so good.
And then she heard what sounded like crackling fire.
When logs pop and make crackling noises when you throw them on the fireplace.
She could hear it,
But she couldn't see it at this point.
Stephanie took a big,
Deep breath in.
She could smell the fire,
But she didn't know where the smell was coming from.
And then she heard Luna shout her,
Stephanie,
We're over here.
The forest that Stephanie normally steps into with the green leaves and the chocolate bark of the trees and the mint-smelling chocolate leaves were no longer the same.
This place looked like a forest that was definitely a forest in the heart of autumn.
Stephanie looked over to her right and noticed through a few of the bare trees that there was a group of unicorns all stood together in a big circle.
She assumed that they were standing around the fire.
It was cold.
She felt the cold air.
It wasn't quite evening.
It wasn't dark in Moonbow Forest,
But it definitely wasn't bright and sunny and daytime.
It was as if the sun was about to go down.
The evening had got nice and cool.
It was that time of night.
Stephanie started to walk over to where the group of unicorns were.
When she reached the group,
She said hi to everyone and everyone said hi back.
And that's when Stephanie noticed that they were all wearing masks.
All the different unicorns had got different characters of masks on.
She noticed that some of them were panda bears.
Some of them were monkeys.
Some of them were elephants.
Some of the masks looked like tigers.
Like they were all pretending to be different animals.
Luna was wearing a mask that made her look like a zebra.
Stephanie said,
What's with all the masks?
Luna said,
Why,
It's Halloween,
Silly,
We're all wearing our costumes.
Luna handed over a mask for Stephanie.
It was a monkey mask.
Oh,
Stephanie said,
Trust you to pick a monkey for me.
Luna smiled and said,
Well,
You are quite a monkey,
Stephanie.
And Stephanie just laughed as she put on her monkey mask.
The fire that they were all standing around was very warm and cozy.
And the heat that was coming off it was quite hot.
The fire was a big,
Roaring fire.
The perfect size to campfire.
They were all just stood around chit-chattering,
Talking,
Laughing with each other.
Stephanie looked up at Luna and said,
What do you guys normally do for Halloween?
Do you do anything special,
Like trick or treat or anything like that?
Luna,
Even though Luna wasn't showing very much of her face because of the mask,
Stephanie still thought she could detect a confused look on Luna's face.
Luna said,
Trick or treat?
Stephanie said,
Yeah,
That's when you go around the different houses and you knock on the door and you say trick or treat.
And normally,
Most often,
In fact,
Always,
They give you a treat.
Luna said,
What if they say trick?
Stephanie said,
Oh,
I don't know because no one's ever said trick.
They always just give you a treat.
Maybe you would like toilet roll the trees or something.
Luna said,
Toilet roll the trees?
What like a present,
Like a decoration?
Stephanie laughed once again.
Well,
Yeah,
I suppose so.
It would kind of look like that,
Wouldn't it?
But it's not supposed to be nice.
It's supposed to be a trick,
Not a treat.
Hmm,
Confusing,
Said Luna.
We don't do that here,
Stephanie said.
What do you do?
Luna said,
Well,
We all wear these masks.
We like to pretend that we're somebody else.
And it's fun,
But most of the time we still know who's who,
Obviously.
It was pretty obvious because all of the unicorns had very distinct colors.
You could tell them all,
Each of them by their colors.
So even though the mask made them look as if they were a monkey or a tiger or an elephant,
They definitely weren't because the rest of the body was just the normal unicorn bodies.
Pretty obvious who they were.
Stephanie knew who they all were anyway.
Do you do anything else,
Said Stephanie?
Well,
We go to the pumpkin patch.
Oh,
Said Stephanie,
Can I go?
You sure can,
Said Luna.
All right,
Come on,
Everyone,
Luna announced.
It's time for the pumpkin patch.
Our special girl is here.
Let's take her to go have the whole pumpkin patch experience.
Everyone started to rear up and get ready as if they were all going to fly up into the sky at the same time.
Stephanie climbed up onto Luna's back.
And when Luna stood up and got all the way up to her normal size,
She quickly joined the others up in the sky.
The wings full span,
Taking them higher and higher and higher.
Stephanie held on tight.
One of her fists wrapped around Luna's mane.
She leaned forward and said,
Does it take long to get to the pumpkin patch?
Luna said,
No,
Just two minutes.
She was right.
It didn't take them very long to get to the pumpkin patch.
The pumpkin patch happened to be a big,
Giant field.
And Stephanie could see all of the hundreds of pumpkins in the field before they even got there.
The field,
The floor of the field,
Didn't look brown or beige or the color of soil.
It was completely covered in bright orange and the occasional white pumpkin.
So it made it look like the whole field was a carpet of bright orange pumpkins.
That's a lot of pumpkins,
Stephanie shouted.
Luna said,
Oh,
Yes,
Well,
We need a lot.
Intrigued,
Stephanie couldn't wait to get there.
I wonder what they do with the pumpkins.
Why do they need so many?
When all of the unicorns started to descend down towards the ground,
Luna did as well.
Following the crowd of unicorns ahead.
It didn't take them very long before they landed right there in the middle of the pumpkin field,
What they called the pumpkin patch.
When Stephanie slid off Luna's back and looked around,
She noticed that these pumpkins weren't very big pumpkins.
They were actually hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of tiny,
Tiny,
Tiny pumpkins.
Pumpkins that could easily be stood on.
She noticed this because that's what the unicorns all started to do.
They started to stomp around the field and squish all of the pumpkins.
Now,
These weren't the type of pumpkins that Stephanie was used to.
They weren't rock hard and they weren't filled with the gooey,
Ooey,
Stringy stuff with pumpkin seeds in,
Like normal pumpkins back home.
These pumpkins were filled with all sorts of jammy looking stuff.
Different colours.
Blueberry.
Yellow.
Must have been lemon.
Raspberry.
Strawberry.
Mango.
Apricot.
Lime.
All different coloured,
Gooey,
Ooey,
Jammy stuff in the centres.
Stephanie said to Luna,
Why are they squashing all the pumpkins?
That's how you make pumpkin soup,
Said Luna.
Stephanie looked very confused.
Pumpkin soup?
But you would think that you would chop the pumpkin up and put the pumpkin in a pan with other vegetables and things like that.
That's how you make pumpkin soup,
Luna said.
Not here you don't.
We squish as many pumpkins as we possibly can.
And then all you have to do is suck it up.
You just suck it up.
You lean down and you suck it up.
Suck up what?
Said Stephanie.
Oh,
I'm sorry,
Said Luna.
I didn't explain,
Did I?
These pumpkins are all filled with ooey,
Gooey,
Sweet,
Delicious,
Yummy jello.
Ooh,
Said Stephanie.
Jello scented pumpkins?
Oh yeah,
Said Luna.
And it's the really,
Really awesome jello that you can suck through your teeth.
She did the sucky sound again.
Watch.
Luna leaned down.
She squished one of the pumpkins and it kind of splattered and made a really cool,
Like,
Collapsing,
Popping sound.
As if you were popping peas out of a pod.
Except when it popped open and it crashed to the ground,
Inside of it was what looked like this runny,
Gooey,
Thick,
Sweet jello.
This one was bright red.
Stephanie assumed it would be strawberry flavor.
In the meantime,
Luna was sucking it up through her teeth,
As if the gap in her front teeth was like a straw.
She kept sucking and sucking and sucking.
Stephanie said,
Is it strawberry flavor?
Luna said,
Mm-mm,
Yes,
It is.
Try it,
Said Luna.
Stephanie bent down onto her knees and leaned forward as if she was like a cat lapping up at milk.
She started to lick at the strawberry-looking,
Gooey,
Ooey stuff.
It was delicious.
Don't lick it,
Said Luna.
You suck on it.
Suck it up.
Stephanie started to make the slurpy,
Sucky sound and sucked up the jello.
She pulled it in through the tiny little gap in the front of her teeth and it was so much fun.
It's really fun to do it like that,
Said Stephanie.
Luna said,
Yeah,
I told you.
Let's see if we can find a blue one and then we'll find a lemon one.
She said,
Ooh,
The green ones,
They're delicious.
Some of them are kiwi flavor,
Some of them are lime flavor.
That's when Stephanie started to get very giddy.
She was running around,
Jumping,
Popping all over the place.
Popping all the tiny little popping jello pumpkins.
She found a blue one,
Bent down on the ground and slurped and sucked it up.
This one tastes like blue raspberry crush,
She shouted to Luna.
See if you can find one that's like a blueberry flavor.
They're a little bit more purple,
She said.
Stephanie,
Luna and all the other unicorns were running around,
Jumping,
Popping,
Stepping on all of the tiny little pumpkins.
They're at the Mumbo Forest pumpkin patch.
They are the bestest jello I have ever tasted,
Shouted Stephanie.
One of the other unicorns called Nightingale started to jump on some of the pumpkins very close to where Stephanie was.
Nightingale said,
Did you find one that's actually apricot flavor yet?
Stephanie said,
No,
I don't think so.
Oh,
Keep going,
Keep going until you find one.
They're my favorite,
She said.
Apparently all the different unicorns had different flavors.
And by the time Stephanie had popped at least 40,
50 different pumpkins,
She got to taste all of the different flavors.
Each one of them she had to suck through her teeth as if her teeth were a straw because it was the most funnest way to eat jello.
And if you eat jello with a spoon any other way,
Then it's boring.
That's what they all decided and that's what they all declared.
The best way to do it is to suck it in through your teeth.
It's so much fun.
Stephanie's belly was getting pretty full.
It was full of about 15,
Maybe 20 different flavors.
The jello was delicious.
By now,
Though,
It was getting quite dark.
Stephanie said to Luna that maybe it would be best if she could get home as it was getting dark.
Luna said,
No problem.
She whistled and everyone looked up and paid attention.
It's time to go back,
She shouted.
And just like that,
Everyone started to instantly fly up into the sky once again.
Luna gathered Stephanie and flew up to join the group and they started to make their way back to the autumn looking forest.
There's something about all the jello that made Stephanie feel very,
Very tired.
Whether it was her full tummy,
Whether it was just that cozy autumn feeling,
Whatever it was,
Stephanie put her head down and snuggled into Luna on the flight back home.
When Stephanie eventually opened her eyes,
It was the next day and she was laying in bed.
Her visit to Moonbow Forest,
Once again,
Was over.
She was back in her normal world,
In her regular Earth reality,
On the other side of the curtain from Moonbow Forest.
The End
