Heidi, Cherry & Vaya Go Skiing

This story is all about the cat's day on the slopes. They ski, they snowboard, they discuss very important matters such as how we should all support each other's greatness instead of tiring each other down!

Are you ready to meditate with Kari?

Try and be very very very very still and very very very very quiet.

Slow down your thinking.

Relax your body.

Let go of your day.

Let me tell you all about this one particular day where Heidi,

Cherry and Vea went skiing.

They were on the ski lift.

They all thought it was absolutely amazing.

Heidi said,

This is just breathtaking.

Look at the views.

Everywhere you look,

Everything is white.

It's like a winter wonderland.

It feels so clean and fresh and cool.

They all had the skiing equipment on.

Their hats,

Their ski suits,

Their skis,

Their ski goggles,

Everything.

Cherry said,

It is lovely.

Yeah,

It is.

But I can barely move.

I'm so wrapped up.

My gloves,

My outfit,

My waterproofs,

My other outfit,

My vest,

My other outfit.

I have so many layers.

So many layers.

I don't know what to do.

I can barely breathe.

I'm suffocating underneath all these clothes.

I understand I'm supposed to wear a lot of clothes to stay warm.

But my golly,

This is a bit beyond the lot,

Don't you think?

Vea started laughing.

Me is very warm and I like the colour of my clothes.

Cherry said,

It's all white,

Vea.

There's no colour to it.

In fact,

I've lost you like four times already on these slopes.

I mean,

Your fur's white,

Your outfit's white,

Your goggles are white,

Your gloves are white,

Your skis are white.

Everything's white.

How's anybody supposed to see you?

I think it's a little bit dangerous.

You should have gone with them,

But I have gone with.

Cherry had bright orange everything.

I like orange.

Well,

You know I like orange because I'm orange.

I mean,

I'm ginger.

So,

I mean,

It's just a natural progression to go and wear like,

You know,

Your outer clothes that match your inner fur,

Heidi said,

Well,

Actually,

Look at me.

Without even realising I've done the same thing.

Everything Heidi had on was grey.

She had a grey hat,

Grey gloves,

Grey water proofs,

Grey skis,

Grey goggles,

Grey everything.

Heidi said,

That's kind of strange how we all did that,

Don't you think?

They all sat quiet for a moment and looked around as the ski lift carried on moving.

They got to a point where it was really,

Really high.

Fair said,

Well,

Me doesn't really like it when it goes to this part.

It gets so high.

And if we fell out,

Because you're not really strapped in,

Are you?

Cherry said,

You know what?

I don't even thought of that.

Now I'm freaking out.

I could just slip under this bar.

She was pretending to slip.

See,

I could have gone just like that and I would have been flying through the air.

I would have,

I have so many ski clothes on,

I'd have probably just bounced.

I'd have bounced like some kind of bouncing skiing rabbit or something.

Just like hopping through,

Hopping,

Hopping through the air.

Hopping,

Hopping,

Hopping over the ski ramps and the ski bumps and all the twists and the turns.

I'd be like just hopping all the way down.

Actually,

You know what?

That sounds like fun.

Heidi said,

That's probably like what snowboarding is like.

You know,

You're just kind of jumping through everything.

Cherry said,

Let's do that next.

Once we've gone down this lift,

I mean,

Once we've gone down this next hill and we've got off this lift,

Then,

Yeah,

Let's do snowboarding instead because you know what?

I know I'm already good at skiing and you know,

You two are pretty OK.

But I know I'm really,

Really good.

And you know,

All everybody sees is just like this bright orange flame spraying its way through all the snow.

Jumping,

Going at the speed of light down the hills.

I mean,

Once you've done it like five times,

How many times can you do that?

And everybody's like,

Oh,

I'm never going to be that good.

And you don't want to do it.

You know,

You don't really want to do that to everybody all the time because that's not so nice to say.

Because,

You know,

When you're so good and then you make everybody feel not so good,

Then sometimes they resent you and they don't like you very much.

And they're like,

Oh,

I don't like that,

Cherry.

She thinks she knows it all.

I get that all the time.

Faya said,

Me thinks it's just because you're good at everything,

Cherry.

It's sometimes a little bit intimidating.

Intimidating,

Said Cherry.

What's that?

Heidi said,

That's when people are a little bit off put.

You know,

They're like they don't feel too comfortable around you,

Like you make them feel less than or not as good as or just not perfect like you.

Cherry said,

Oh,

That must be horrible.

I hate to feel intimidated.

I never feel,

I don't think,

I don't know.

I don't think I ever feel intimidated.

I always feel at my best.

Well,

Sometimes I'm not.

Sometimes I'm in a bad mood or sometimes I'm having a bad day.

And if I'm truly honest,

I am not good at some things.

But,

So you don't really notice,

It's good to put yourself in someone else's shoes.

I'm happy for all of your accomplishments.

But some people get jealous or they think that you're,

Like you're intimidating or like you know it all.

That's just ridiculous.

Why can't we all just get along?

Why does it have to be a competition?

I mean,

I would win,

Of course.

But,

Like be loving and kind to each other and pump each other up and say,

All that kind of stuff.

Why can't we do that to his friends instead of being like,

She thinks she knows it all or who she thinks she is or oh,

She thinks she's so special.

I get that a lot now that you come to mention it.

I think it's really sad because people should be able to shine.

I love it when my friends do really good at something or they're good at something,

Not because everybody's,

I know that they're not as good as me,

But that's not the point.

You know,

When someone does something really good,

I'm always like,

Yeah,

Good for you.

Or yeah,

Yeah,

You go,

Sister.

Or yeah,

Hey,

Good job.

You know,

I'm like that all the time with my friends,

You know,

Supportive.

It doesn't cost anything,

Does it?

It doesn't.

It doesn't cost anything to be supportive.

I think we all should change the world.

From now on,

No one feels intimidated by someone else because what's the point?

It's a waste of energy.

Instead,

You just look at someone that does something that's really good and you just go,

Wow,

You're so awesome.

You're great.

It's inspiring.

Inspiring is the new word.

Inspiration instead of intimidation.

You're so inspiration.

Heidi said,

And we're sticking together like glue because we're friends and we support each other.

By this time,

The ski lift had stopped and it was time to get off.

And they almost missed getting off and going round all over again.

But they just made it.

They went down that hill that they needed to go down.

Cherry just zoomed through like a fireball.

Veya just disappeared in a white outfit with her white fur.

It was like playing hide and seek.

Can anybody spot Veya?

No.

And Heidi just did really good.

Later on in the day,

After they had lunch,

They tried out snowboarding.

They all loved it.

It was a lot of fun.

You had to be careful that you didn't break your paws because it got,

You know,

A little bit crazy at times.

But no one broke their paws.

No one hurt themselves.

No one landed funny and hurt their back.

No one landed funny and hurt their bum.

Everything was just great.

They played and played and skied and snowboarded all day long.

It was a super,

Super physical day.

And by the time they got to the log cabin,

The fire was blazing.

They all had a hot chocolate in hand.

Their eyes were closing and opening and closing and opening as they watched the flames and the fire.

What a lovely day,

Said Cherry.

It was a nice day,

Said Heidi.

Veya said,

I really enjoyed it.

Me thought it was lovely.

It was so peaceful at times out there on the snowy mountains.

It was really my favorite and there was no one else around.

It was quiet.

You could listen to the snow melt.

Yeah,

It's the bestest sound.

The log fire was crackling and popping and making the most amazing sounds.

It was so relaxing and calming.

They were warm and safe and snuggled up together with their cocoa.

It was a perfect skiing trip.
