Welcome to this pause for calm.
Find a comfortable place to sit or rest and gently close your eyes.
Rest your hands on your lap or let them settle softly by your side.
Allow your body to settle.
Begin with a slow easy breath in.
And a soft breath out.
And again an easy breath in.
And a soft breath out.
Notice your eyes.
Your jaw.
Your shoulders.
Loosen your jaw.
Ease your shoulders.
Allow your body to sink a little deeper into your support.
Now bring to mind a tropical island.
A tropical island with lush green vegetation and tall palm trees swaying softly in the warm breeze.
You are standing on a beautiful beach and you notice the soft sand beneath your feet and toes.
You notice the gentle sea breeze across your skin.
Everything here is peaceful and welcoming.
The sun above is shining,
Its golden rays cascading down upon the island like droplets of golden light.
Radiating warmth and light.
You feel the sun's gentle rays softly across your skin.
Embracing you in a comforting glow that goes deep into your being.
You become aware of the sky that stretches out in a vast expanse of bright blue dotted here and there by soft shapes of clouds.
Clouds that are drifting lazily on the gentle sea breeze.
All around you hear the soothing rhythm of the waves as they rise and fall.
The island is inviting and calming and you breathe in slowly,
Then breathe out,
Relaxing,
Releasing and letting go of anything else.
Now you walk towards the water and as you reach the water's edge,
You pause and begin to explore the surroundings with all of your senses.
Taking in the sounds and feelings of this tropical island.
Taking in the sounds of the waves against the shore.
Of leaves dancing in the wind.
And the distant songs of tropical birds.
Taking in the sight of the crystal clear water that stretches out before you,
Shimmering in the sunlight like a million sparkling diamonds.
Taking in the texture of the sand,
Warm and soft beneath the soles of your feet.
Grounding you and connecting you to the earth.
Taking in the gentle touch of the sea breeze across your skin.
The scent of salt in the air.
The sweet fragrance of blooming flowers.
The gentle rays of the sun.
And the sparkling,
Cleansing and inviting crystal clear water.
You breathe in slowly and appreciate the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings.
Breathing in,
Allowing yourself to immerse in the peaceful energy of the island.
Breathing out,
Relaxing,
Releasing and letting go of anything else.
Now you find a comfortable spot to sit or rest on this tropical island.
Allowing yourself to be fully present in this moment.
And you feel the weight of the world lift from your shoulders.
There is only this moment and now this moment.
You are here in the here and now.
You sense the moment is inviting you deeper.
Deeper into rest.
Into healing.
Into peace.
And you surrender to this moment.
You feel the support of the earth beneath you.
Grounding you.
You feel the points of contact between your body and the earth.
You sense the water's healing energy.
Cleansing and releasing any tension from your body.
Cleansing and releasing any tension from your mind.
You allow your mind to become quiet and still.
And for everything else to float away.
Leaving only feelings of calm and inner tranquility.
Relaxing.
Releasing.
And letting go of anything else.
Now bring your awareness to your breath once again.
With every in-breath allow yourself to breathe in calm,
Peace and inner tranquility.
With every out-breath release any remaining tension from your body.
Release any remaining tension from your mind.
Allowing them to dissolve into the ether.
Leaving only the qualities or feelings that you'd like to carry within you.
Take a few moments to simply be present with yourself and the surroundings.
Resting in the sense of peace and tranquility from the island.
Knowing that you can return to this tranquil island in your mind whenever you need a moment of peace,
Relaxation or renewal.
Relaxing.
Releasing.
And letting go of anything else.
Finally take one more slow easy breath in and a soft breath out.
