Navigating the in-between can stir up a lot within us. There's the loss of what we have left, the discomfort with space, and apprehension for what is to come. But, the in-between is a truly beautiful space when you surrender to it, which is what this meditation is designed to guide you into.

Hi and welcome to this guided meditation,

Holding Yourself in the Inbetween.

This meditation is designed to meet you in the moments where you are letting something go and beginning a new venture.

The moments in between can be the hardest parts to hold ourselves in.

We have the grief of the shedding,

Where we have let something go to create space.

Then we have the emptiness that often arises before the next thing begins.

Then we have the fear of the unknown as we embark on something new.

And together this can feel like quite a difficult time to navigate.

This meditation is designed to help you see the beauty in this moment and to create space for you to hold yourself in all that is unfolding.

So I invite you just to take a moment to make yourself comfortable in this moment,

Taking any little adjustments that you need.

And then if you haven't done so already and if it feels comfortable to do so,

Just closing down the eyes,

Letting that gaze turn inward,

And just noticing how you feel in this moment.

Perhaps becoming aware of the breath,

Making a note that it is your anchor for this meditation,

Bringing you back whenever you wander.

We're going to begin by spending a moment just releasing whatever it is that has fallen away.

Just allowing every exhale to be more of a detachment from what was.

With every exhale you release your grip on the past a little more.

Becoming aware of what comes up as you begin to do so.

Becoming aware of what comes up as you begin to do so.

Creating full permission for whatever wants to rise in this space to be allowed in.

Sadness,

Grief,

Relief,

Joy,

It's all welcome here.

And with every moment of release,

Feeling that weight lifted.

As you begin to anchor into the in-between space,

A space that can often feel a little like floating.

And seeing if you can tap into that sensation of weightlessness here.

As you've released the hold and what's yet to come hasn't yet arrived.

Often the tendency can be to rush out of this space,

To rush on to the next thing,

To keep moving forward.

But what would it feel like just to float here for a little while longer?

Knowing that sometime soon something is going to come along and take this in-between space from you.

Trusting that what is coming is arriving in perfect timing and that there's no need to rush towards it.

This in-between space is your preparation for what's to come.

This in-between space is your preparation for what's to come.

It is necessary for you to be ready.

So can you just breathe here a little deeper?

Trusting that you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

Everything that has fallen away was meant to leave.

And everything that is arriving is doing so in divine time.

Staying here for as long as you need to.

Knowing that you are safe to be in the in-between.

And maybe as you grant yourself permission to be here,

The next steps begin to appear naturally.

And if they do,

Following those nudges,

Being mindful not to hold ourselves in the in-between.

Giving ourselves permission to be there,

But not getting too safe here.

Trusting when those niggles arrive to move on,

That it's time to take them.

And also trusting that if they don't arrive just yet,

There's no need to rush.

There's no need to rush.

You are safe to be in the in-between.

And I invite you to stay here for as long as you like.

Knowing this practice is available for you to return to whenever you feel like you need a bit of support navigating the in-between.

Thank you so much for meditating with me today.

This was great. You enunciate your words well (calm but confident) and include great concepts in this meditation. I especially liked ‘trusting that what fell away was meant to fall away’, as well as not being too safe in the in between and trusting the niggles that tell you when it’s time to move on. I also liked the idea of not rushing to the next thing.
