Hello,

And welcome to this guided meditation.

Today we will focus on the practice of deep observation by analyzing a single object in front of you.

This exercise will help you cultivate mindfulness and enhance your ability to concentrate.

Find a comfortable seated position.

Place an object of your choice in front of you or find one in the room that you're going to observe.

Then take a deep breath in,

Letting it out slowly.

Continue to bring your attention to your breath.

Notice the sensation of the air entering your nostrils,

Filling your lungs,

And gently leaving your body.

Be with your breath on the next inhale as well,

And let it travel to the parts of your body that need to release tension.

Observing the power of your breath to do this as you exhale slowly.

And then when you're ready,

Allow your breath to settle into a natural steady rhythm.

Gently notice the object in front of you.

It can be virtually anything.

A piece of fruit,

A pen,

A small trinket.

Let your gaze rest softly on the object taking in its presence.

Begin by noticing the object's overall shape.

Is it round,

Square,

Irregular?

Take your time to explore its form without labeling it as good or bad.

Next,

Observe the object's color.

Notice any variations in hue,

Brightness,

Or intensity.

If it has multiple colors,

Observe how they blend or contrast with each other.

Move your attention to the texture of the object.

Imagine what it would feel like to touch it.

Is it soft,

Rough,

Smooth,

Or hard?

If you are inclined to,

You can gently touch the object to deepen your observation.

Examine the object's surface.

Are there any patterns,

Marks,

Any details?

No matter how small,

Notice them now.

See if you can get curious about the object's history and purpose.

What do you think it was made for?

How was it created?

Imagine the journey it took to get to you.

Consider the object's weight and density.

If you can,

Pick it up and feel its weight in your hand.

Notice how it feels to hold it.

Pay attention to any sounds the object makes when you interact with it.

Does it make a noise when you tap it or move it?

If the object has a smell,

Bring it close to your nose.

Taking a gentle sniff,

Notice any scents or aromas that it may have.

Take a moment to reflect on your connection to this object.

Notice any of your feelings in this moment.

Notice any thoughts or memories that come up as you observe this object.

Allow yourself to fully experience any emotions or thoughts that arise.

Consider the role this object plays in your life,

No matter how seemingly small.

Appreciate its presence and the purpose it serves.

As we come to the end of this meditation,

Take a deep breath in and gradually exhale.

Gently place the object back in its place if you were holding it.

And when you are ready,

Bring your awareness back to your surroundings.

Maybe take one final observation of this object.

In relation to the space that you are in.

Carry the sense of mindful observation with you,

Knowing you can return to this practice anytime you need to reconnect with the present moment.

Thank you for joining this meditation.

Have a peaceful rest of the day.
