Our subconscious mind is in the driver's seat 95% of the time that we are awake and interacting with the world. It controls our perception based on old conditioning (belief systems based on past experiences) and over 80% of that conditioning is comprised of limiting, negative beliefs. We have to clear out old beliefs and mindfully plant new ones in order to grow and thrive. This meditation guides you through a journey to clear old belief systems and plant new, supportive beliefs.

Welcome to your moment of connection.

In today's meditation,

We're going to focus on clearing our space.

Our internal systems are just as important as our external systems.

In taking loving care of cleaning and clearing out our internal systems,

It's just as important as say brushing your teeth.

So today we're going to take a little adventure in the mind and we're going to pull out and uproot anything we're carrying that no longer serves us.

And then we're going to smooth out the path ahead of us and plant seeds that we would like to grow.

If you haven't already,

Get comfortable either lying down or sitting up.

We'll be here for about 15 minutes.

So find a place or area where you can focus uninterrupted.

To begin,

Let's take three to four deep clearing breaths,

Exhaling all the air you currently have and slowly taking an inhale for a count of three and then an exhale for a count of four,

Allowing your body to begin to relax.

Feeling the ground underneath you supporting you,

Reassuring you that it's okay to let go.

Take two more deep breaths just like that.

Feeling your body relax a little more with every exhale.

Begin to invite your mind to open itself up and let your breathing return to its normal state.

And now let's take a walk through your life's garden.

Imagine yourself approaching this beautiful garden.

And from far away,

It looks really serene.

As you approach and get closer and closer,

You notice all of the twisted vines,

Gnarling roots and rotting trees.

These trees are transformative.

From the outside,

They look like firm surfaces you could rely on.

But inside,

They are unstable and are full of rotting wood.

They are unable to receive but will nurture them.

So they slowly rot away from the inside out,

Leaving the rest of the garden unstable and unable to replenish itself.

As the trees start to crumble,

You find yourself tripping on old roots.

They seem to have come out of nowhere.

Although you've walked down the same path many times,

It all feels familiar even though it's not a path you really want to be on.

Slowly tripping over the same roots and getting stuck in the same places,

Feeling unable of experiencing real change.

After you trip,

You find the vines of the tree slowly wrapping around you,

Keeping you stuck in the same place.

You find yourself thinking,

Not again.

See,

This is what always happens to me.

And then,

It's fine.

Eventually,

The vines will loosen their grip and let me go.

And they do.

Until you find yourself back in the same place all over again,

Choosing to lean into something that no longer serves you,

Which causes you to trip over the gnarling roots until you become wrapped in the hidden vines.

This is your metaphor for your choice of continuing to focus on what you don't want,

Which leads you to choose things that reinforce your old programming.

And then you give in to default systems of behaving,

Grabbing on to what will make you feel better in the moment instead of what will serve you best in the future.

As the vines slowly release,

You continue down your path and a butterfly lands on your shoulder and begins to speak softly to you.

She asks,

If you could fly above this garden and zoom out to see things from my view,

Way up in the sky,

With no obstructions,

If you could see why,

No matter how many seemingly different choices you make,

You always end up at the same place.

Would you want to see?

From my zoomed out,

Unobstructed view,

I can see everything,

The entire landscape and all of the different paths.

Would you like to see this?

You eagerly say yes to this proposition,

Certain that if you could zoom out and see things clearly,

You would know right away which step led you astray.

You would know how and when to make a different choice.

She spins you gently around three times and you feel yourself rising higher and higher into the air.

As you secure your bird's eye view,

You are startled at what you see.

Your garden is but just a tiny plot of land in an immense,

Infinite forest that stretches on as far as the eye can see.

And you exclaim,

How did I not know how big this place was?

Why haven't I been able to explore all of this beauty?

It's not fair that I have been stuck here when there is so much to see.

The butterfly gently explains,

Your thoughts are your driver and your belief systems are your vehicle.

They will only carry you as far as your mind has allowed itself to be stretched.

What you focus on expands and you have spent most of your time focused on worry,

Focused on what you hope doesn't happen.

And in doing that,

You have restricted your mind and have only created more of what you don't want.

You receive what you think about most.

You have spent your time thinking that you always get stuck,

That something always gets in your way,

That you are not worthy,

That all of the things you want can't possibly exist or be easy to obtain.

And so the roots trip you because you have created them and the vines keep you stuck because you believe that's what always happens.

And you stop dreaming about what you really desire because you are constantly trying to entangle yourself from whatever current vine you've gotten wrapped up in.

Your garden is of your own making.

Would you like to let go now?

Would you like to explore the infinite possibilities that are always present in any given moment?

It's not about finding your way out of this garden.

It's about burning down what's been keeping you stuck and planting new seeds that will allow you to grow into who you're meant to be.

We must first identify what doesn't serve us,

What thoughts and beliefs are keeping us stuck in a reality we don't want to be in.

And then we must release them as untruths.

It is only then that we will be able to move forward,

To plant a new garden full of seeds of what we do want,

Of what will serve us.

You feel heat moving through your whole body as you understand you are ready to let go and you realize that you have created all of these pitfalls you have found yourself in.

The butterfly urges you to breathe deeply and as you exhale your breath sets the old garden on fire.

It quickly burns,

Taking with it every false belief system and thought and lie you've ever been told or sold to yourself that has made you feel unworthy or less than.

You watch as every last bit of that old garden burns away until nothing is left but soil.

Even the roots have been burnt to dust.

The butterfly spins you around one more time and you slowly descend to the ground.

Your land looks barren but something in the soil glimmers.

It's already becoming healthier.

This clean slate is now ready to receive new seeds.

It's time to plant what will feed you.

You sink into the dirt,

Close your eyes,

Take your hands into the soil and feel yourself rooting down,

Pulled into Mother Earth as she cleanses and grounds you.

You ask her for clarity so you can see clearly what you desire most.

You breathe in deeply and feel the clear white energy of the earth travel through your body.

You slowly open your eyes and look down to your closed palm,

Opening it and seeing dozens of small seeds.

You begin to dig in the soil and create a hole large enough to safely house the seeds.

You sprinkle a few into the first hole.

This first planting is love.

You repeat to yourself,

I am worthy and deserving of love.

All of my thoughts,

Words and actions are in alignment with love.

You move to the second hole and sprinkle more seeds there.

This is your forgiveness planting and you repeat to yourself,

I am forgiven,

I am forgiven,

I am forgiven and I offer forgiveness willingly and easily.

The third hole is ready now too and you sprinkle seeds into it and feel instant comfort.

This is your safety planting.

You repeat to yourself,

I am safe,

I am forgiven,

I am love.

I am safe,

I am forgiven,

I am love.

The last hole beckons you and you sprinkle in seeds of truth and repeat to yourself,

I use my voice to honor my truth and I speak it with ease,

Grace and love.

I honor my voice.

You have planted roots now in this garden and your foundation lays in love,

Forgiveness,

Safety and truth.

You take the remaining seeds and sprinkle them gently all around and you're sprinkling yourself love,

Health,

Wealth,

Joy,

Laughter,

Lightheartedness,

Patience and kindness.

And you know they are already beginning to blossom into beautiful wild flowers.

You water them with loving thoughts and start to see them sprouting knowing that the more you water them,

The faster they will grow.

You take a step back and watch with immense gratitude at how much your garden has expanded.

In fact,

It's become infinite.

There is nothing planted here to trip you up or keep you stuck.

There is nothing but expansive possibility.

The butterfly lands on your shoulder and you know that your time here has come to an end.

You ask her where she came from and what her name is and she tells you her name is Clarity and if you want to see where she came from,

You must only look in the mirror.

You are now starting today with a brand new garden and this path of self-discovery that you are on will help you water those seeds with loving thoughts every day.

Your old worries are like weeds,

Roots,

Vines and rotting trees.

They no longer exist in this place.

Your self-care tools like meditation are your soil cleansers and they will prevent weeds from ever beginning to grow.

You commit to practicing self-care daily so that you can fully water your garden and let these seeds expand into beautiful infinite flowers.

You know that it's time to focus on and only feed what serves you.

Take another deep cleansing breath as you begin to come back into your body.

As we start to exit this meditation,

Go forward with the rest of your day knowing that your vessel is clean and clear and the seeds of beautiful thoughts and love are growing within you.

Namaste.

At first, I wasn’t crazy about this because I’m not a big fan of visualization. And then the butterfly showed up and I was a goner. To both go above myself and below myself felt like I remembered how to be healthy, not physically healthy, but just spiritually healthy, psychologically healthy. Thank you.
