
Yoga Nidra For Chakra Balancing

This Yoga Nidra practice will use systematic progressive relaxation techniques to allow the prana to flow. Then, we will walk through each Chakra and balance them gently, allowing energy to begin to flow freely and unobstructed in the body.
Transcript
Welcome to Yoga Ninja.
This is the guided meditative process of experiencing your true self through the power of paying attention.
As you listen to my words,
I'll invite you to pay deeper and deeper attention and you will gently relax into your utmost quality of being.
Today we will use the feeling of energy in and out of our bodies to point us to experiencing ourselves as awareness.
The Sanskrit word for life force energy is prana and we will allow the feeling of our prana to guide us deeper and deeper into awareness.
Begin this process by lying down,
Getting comfortable with a pillow or blanket and closing your eyes.
At all times during our yoga ninja practice,
Remember that your main job is to practice being aware.
Listen to my words as I point you back to awareness over and over.
If you happen to fall asleep,
Simply allow your awareness to acknowledge the fact that you're sleeping.
If you prefer to stay awake,
Set the intention now to remain awake during the entire experience.
Give yourself a full breath in and send a sigh out of your mouth.
Do this two or three more times.
Begin to lengthen your inhale and exhale,
Feeling your body relax deeper and deeper with each breath.
Now allow your breathing to resume to normal and invite you to remain aware of your breath.
Notice how your body feels as you breathe.
Perhaps you're aware of how your breath moves in and out of your nostrils.
Maybe you're aware of how your breath moves in and out of your belly and chest.
Perhaps you're aware of some other part of you that responds to your breathing.
For a moment,
I invite you to keep your attention on that part of your body that feels your breath.
In this moment,
Simply observe how you feel energy or prana.
Are you feeling vivacious,
Lethargic,
Grounded,
Chaotic?
Give yourself the permission to feel energy however you're experiencing it at this moment and simply observe it.
There's nothing to do about it other than to observe.
Throughout this yoga ninja practice,
We will use the feeling of prana to direct us into deeper and deeper awareness.
Please welcome anything and everything that arrives in your field of awareness.
Notice your breath.
Breathe like your entire face could give and receive breath.
Feel your breath move through every pore of your face.
Now visualize your breath moving in and out of the crown of your head.
Now the back of your head.
Breathe through only the left side of your head and face.
Your entire left side.
Breathe through only the right side of your head and face.
Your entire right side.
Left side,
Then right side.
Now feel yourself breathing through your entire head.
Your entire head is giving and receiving breath.
However nothing is supposed to happen and nothing is not supposed to happen.
Simply notice whatever is occurring for you in this moment,
Whether that's a feeling of prana,
A sound you're experiencing,
A thought or an emotion.
Welcome it in and simply observe it.
Now I invite you to breathe into your left arm from shoulder to fingertips.
Feel your entire left arm becoming alive with breath.
Now breathe into your right arm,
Shoulder to fingertips.
Feel your entire right arm become alive with breath.
Now breathe into both arms simultaneously.
Both arms are enlivening as you breathe.
As you breathe into both arms,
Feel as if they both inflate with your breath.
Now allow your arms to feel deflated with your breath.
Inflated,
Now deflated.
Now feel your arms to be both inflated and deflated at the same time.
We are inviting an experience which is beyond rational thinking.
Feel your arms inflated and deflated simultaneously.
If that's too difficult,
Feel your arms with a skinny arm inside of a big arm.
Now I invite you to pay attention to the way your chest and belly feel as you breathe.
Can you feel the gentle motion of your trunk as you breathe?
Can you hear or perhaps sense your heartbeat?
Notice how you feel prana in your chest.
It might feel like a pulsing sensation.
It might feel like a buzz or it might feel dull.
Prana could be sharp or have a temperature.
Perhaps you sense colors as you feel the prana in your chest,
Like an emotion.
Feel whatever you feel and simply observe it.
Now feel the prana in your back.
Does it feel similar to your trunk or different?
Now I invite you to feel your entire trunk,
Front and back,
And simultaneously feel the prana in your front and back,
Regardless if they feel similar or different.
You might begin to notice that prana is always moving and changing.
And while you might be paying attention to this quality of prana over here,
Then the quality of prana over there,
What isn't changing is our awareness.
In fact,
It's the changing quality of things like prana that reveal the underlying form of awareness itself.
Welcome everything you're aware of in this moment and simply hold it in your awareness.
Now feel the prana in your pelvis and begin to study it.
Does it have a color,
Feeling or other qualities?
If any other images,
Emotions,
Thoughts or sensations spontaneously arise,
Simply welcome them in and witness them.
Trace the prana in your legs.
Notice how the prana feels in your left leg from hip to toes.
Right side from hip to toes.
Left.
Now right.
Now feel the prana through both legs.
And now your entire lower half.
Now I invite you to go on an energetic journey with me.
Bring your attention to the floor of your pelvis,
Your root chakra.
Envision a bright red glow blooming from your pelvis.
Picture yourself sitting on your favorite piece of earth,
A garden,
Your favorite trail,
Sitting on a rock or on a mountainside and remember what it feels like to belong somewhere.
In your mind,
Repeat the phrase,
I belong here.
I belong here.
Feel the energy rise to your lower abdomen into your second chakra,
Your sacral chakra.
Envision a bright orange glow blooming from your lower abdomen.
Picture yourself floating your favorite body of water.
Be that the ocean,
A lake,
River or bathtub.
Remember the feeling of going with the flow,
Willing to be carried wherever the current or tide takes you.
In your mind,
Repeat the phrase,
I am fluid and can go with the flow.
I am fluid and can go with the flow.
Now feel your energy rise to your solar plexus,
Your third chakra.
Envision a bright yellow glow emerging from your solar plexus.
Picture yourself enjoying the sun on a wonderful clear day,
Your skin warmed by the sun's rays.
Remember all the ways in which you are powerful.
In your mind,
Repeat the phrase,
I can do anything I desire.
I can do anything I desire.
Now bring your energy to your heart center,
Your fourth chakra,
And see a bright green glow surrounding your heart.
Picture yourself in a very green place,
Like walking through a forest,
Moving through a canopy of trees,
Or walking through a lush green field.
Bring to mind something you love.
Repeat in your mind,
My greatest gift to the world is my love.
My greatest gift to the world is my love.
Now move your energy to the center of your throat,
Your fifth chakra.
Envision a bright sky blue glow.
See yourself floating above the clouds.
Remember a time when you felt you could say whatever you needed to say,
And that you'd be heard.
Repeat in your mind.
I am my word.
I am my word.
Now bring your energy to the center of your forehead,
Your sixth chakra,
Your third eye.
Picture a bright indigo glow.
Picture yourself in the outer atmosphere.
Remember a time of deep inner knowing when you simply knew something is truth.
Repeat in your mind.
I hold and know truth.
I hold and know truth.
Lastly,
Bring your attention to the crown of your head,
Your seventh chakra.
Picture a violet or white thousand-petaled lotus.
See yourself one and the same with the universe.
Repeat in your mind,
I'm connected to the universe.
I am all things.
I'm connected to the universe.
I am all things.
For a moment,
Feel all these energy centers connect.
Crown,
Forehead center,
Throat,
Solar plexus,
Sacral,
And root.
Hear a harmony of seven notes together.
Now bring your attention back to the way your prana feels in your body and be curious about the way it feels after moving through each chakra.
Notice anything that spontaneously arises for you,
Be it sounds,
Sensations,
Memories,
Anything.
Come recognize and witness all things that occur.
In a moment,
We'll be finishing our yoga ninja practice because we've attuned ourselves and experienced ourselves as awareness in the form of energy manifesting in our bodies.
We'll now be able to direct the flow of energy better in all areas of our lives,
From relationships,
To finances,
Vitality and wellness,
Mental clarity,
And work.
You will begin to see the energy all around you and have the capacity to direct energy toward those areas in your life where you feel they will be most beneficial.
Take a deep,
Long,
Clearing breath as you begin to bring slight movements back into your body,
Wiggling your toes and fingers,
Allowing yourself to come back down into your body as we conclude our practice.
Go forward in a more balanced and clear state with your energy running fluidly through your whole body.

That may be the best breath exercise I have ever done. Loved the chakra meditation, too. Do you have a longer version?
