A short relaxation meditation using a visualization technique to guide you into a mini moment of solitude. This meditation supports you to stop and drop into your body. Just taking some time now to allow yourself to really relax into the space,

If you feel comfortable just allowing your eyes to close,

Taking some deeper breaths here,

And relaxing seeing a little more with each out breath,

Just taking some time now to begin to notice anything that you can see behind your closed eyes,

You may start to notice light and dark colours,

Patterns,

Just observing whatever is there for you today,

Now just drinking in the sounds that are around you,

Tapping into the noise of distant cars,

Perhaps chatter,

You may even hear birds or dogs outside your window,

Just noticing,

Just allowing yourself to loosen the back of your throat by swallowing,

And just beginning to notice any tastes in your mouth,

You may begin to notice perhaps the last thing you ate or drank,

Or perhaps the absence of taste,

Dropping in now to your sense of smell,

Taking a deep inhalation through your nose and just noticing any smells in the room around you,

You may also notice any scents on your body,

Or the absence of smell,

Taking some time now to drop in to your sense of touch,

Feeling the weight of your body on the surface that you are sitting on or lying on,

Noticing any fabrics that may be touching your skin,

Or perhaps the air around you,

Just noticing if it is cool or warm,

Now beginning at the top of your head,

Just releasing and relaxing any tension that you may feel in your scalp,

Melting away any stress from the day,

Allowing your face muscles to relax,

Becoming aware of any tension you may be holding around your eyes or your jaw,

Allowing your tongue to drop and lay restfully in your mouth,

Scanning now down through your neck and shoulders,

Allowing each exhalation to bring your shoulders a little further towards the floor,

Releasing any stresses from the day,

Into the ground beneath you,

Simultaneously bringing awareness to your chest and upper back,

Scanning down and allowing the release of any tension you may be holding in these areas,

Drifting down into your belly,

Hips,

Allowing and melting away with any stress or tightness that you may feel,

Welcoming a wave of relaxation through your body,

Dropping now down into your legs,

Knees,

Just imagining a wave of relaxation rolling from your hips down to your ankles,

Washing away any stress,

Tightness or tension,

Soothing any aches or pains or injuries,

And finally reaching your feet,

Tips of your toes,

The ball of your feet,

Just allowing any tension that you may be holding in your body to be released through the soles of your feet into the floor,

You may like to imagine now a white healing light weaving its way up through the roots of the earth,

Into the soles of your feet,

Illuminating every fibre of your body,

Healing any aches and pains or injuries,

Soothing any sore points or stresses,

Just allowing your body to be rejuvenated by this light,

And as it weaves its way up to the tip of your head,

Just allow yourself now to deepen your breath here a little,

And exhaling anything that does not serve you,

Releasing any residual aches,

Pains or energy that you wish to get rid of,

Now just allowing some time to sit and bathe in this healing light,

Just allowing your body to sit in stillness and regenerate and heal,

I'm just bringing back some gentle movement now,

Allowing yourself to wiggle your fingers and toes,

Deepening your breath,

And being really gentle with yourself as you move through the rest of your day,

And when you feel ready just allowing your eyes to open,
