I invite you to settle in right where you are.
There's nothing you need to do,
Nothing you need to fix.
Just take a moment to be present.
Gently bring your awareness to your body.
Notice the sensation of your feet on the floor or your body on the chair or the bed or whatever surface your body is resting on.
Just feel the weight of yourself being held and now gently notice your breath.
Feel the air as it moves in and out.
That beautiful natural rhythm of your inhale and exhale.
No need to change it.
Just be with it.
If your mind is busy,
That's okay.
Just notice it and bring your attention back to your breath.
So often in our lives it feels like we are so busy.
We're focused on getting to the next thing or fixing the next problem.
Perhaps you feel this way.
This feeling of busyness and overthinking often comes from our expectations.
We believe that we have to go faster,
That we have to do more or be more.
But what if that's just a story we're telling ourselves?
What if that feeling of pressure and stress is not coming from the situation itself but from your thinking about it?
It's an exhausting way to live.
The mental load doesn't come from the thing itself,
It comes from our thinking about it.
Maybe you can see how you layer thoughts upon thoughts,
Innocently building a mental load that feels so heavy.
It can feel like you're carrying a huge weight on your shoulders.
You can feel it in your body as a sense of pressure and tension.
Your body is so wise.
It is always letting you know the state of your mind.
When you feel this weight,
This heaviness,
It's simply a signal from your system that your thinking is unhelpful.
There is no actual future to control.
There are only thoughts right now.
Thoughts about what might happen.
And these thoughts,
These stories about the future can feel so incredibly real,
But they are not.
They're just part of the constant flow of thoughts that pass through our mind.
The mind,
Our universal intelligence,
Operates without expectations.
It moves in the now.
And so,
Do you see,
You can put down your thinking.
Imagine doing that now.
Putting down your thinking,
Like a heavy weight.
Just simply set it down.
You don't have to carry that heavy weight of thinking.
And as you relax into this knowing,
You align with a system that's not trying to control outcomes.
And you rest in the stillness that's always here.
Beneath the noise of your expectations.
That stillness,
That peace is your true nature.
You are the awareness in which all your thoughts and feelings appear.
You are not the thoughts themselves.
So you don't have to believe them or follow them.
So just for this moment,
Gently let go of the need to control.
Let go of the expectations that feel so heavy.
And simply rest in the truth that peace is always available.
Take a few deep breaths now.
Inhaling calm and exhaling any lingering tension.
And you can always come back to this space.
This inner stillness.
Whenever the world feels too fast,
Too full of expectations.
