Hello and welcome.

My name is Claire and I'm here to guide you today through this breathwork.

Breathwork completely changed my life and allowed me to come back into my body.

And so my intention for you today is for you to restore the calmness,

Balance the mind and body and bring yourself into a state of trust and acceptance for what is and letting go of any worries,

Doubts,

Overwhelm that you may be experiencing.

The perfect time for you to do this meditation is first thing in the morning.

It's a meditation and breath really is centering to remind yourself that you are not your mind,

You are not your emotions,

You are a spirit,

A soul having a human experience.

And the more that we can learn to detach ourselves from these floods of emotion or overwhelm,

The more that you can become masterful of this mind,

To observe the mind and its thoughts without attachment.

Trusting that what you are being shown,

What you are being felt is there to teach you that there is less necessity to fall into the trap of being overwhelmed and all encompassed by this emotion.

So finding a suitable chair or sitting up in your bed so your spine is straight and giving yourself the space,

The devotion to give yourself this time without distraction and really honoring that.

And with this breath and with this meditation it's going to support you to come into stillness.

And with stillness comes many ideas,

Inspiration and clarity.

We can often think that slowing down is going to hold us back or stop us from doing what we want to do,

But really the slowing down energizes us,

It allows us to see things from new perspective and when we're acting from a place of stress and fear,

These aren't usually decisions that will be productive.

So bringing yourself into this space allows you to really know that you are making a decision from your heart space,

From your center and that allows you to build this trust and this organic knowing that what is for you will not pass you and if things don't seem as you want them to,

That bringing yourself back into this space you can trust that you can't see the bigger picture right now perhaps,

But within time and giving yourself this grace all will be revealed.

So taking a nice deep breath,

Breathing as deeply as you can into your diaphragm and the idea is that we breathe like a baby,

Breathing as deeply whatever that means to you,

Deeply and diaphragmatically as you can and then breathe out in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Breathing without pause is known as a conscious connected breath and it allows this calmness,

Your body to know that it is safe as you move into what's called a parasympathetic.

So continuing to breathe deeply and exhale in your own rhythm,

Breathing for as long as you can and exhaling for as long as you can and if you notice any areas of discomfort or energy within your hands or feet,

Knowing that this is completely normal as you start to oxygenate your body,

You're coming back to the breath and so when we start to introduce this calmness,

This time,

This normally the ego or the conscious mind,

The logical mind can suddenly think of all the things that you have forgotten to do or that you have to do and so reminding your conscious mind that this is time for you and that all can wait,

You can come back to it in the future,

You can if you choose,

But for now this time is for you and all can wait.

So just notice the power of this ego,

The power of the mind and witness it and witness it without judgment.

It may be ramping up the need for attention even more like a unruly monkey or a child,

But just reminding yourself,

Reminding the mind that you're safe and that all can wait.

Sometimes you can create a word that brings you back to your center and it can be a sacred word that means something to you.

So again,

Keep bringing yourself back to the breath if the mind starts to become preoccupied as you breathe deeply and exhale through the mouth,

In through the nose and out through the mouth.

Keep bringing yourself back to your center knowing that you haven't got anything else to do,

Anywhere else to be,

But simply be here in this moment.

Whatever you need to remember,

You'll remember.

Whatever you need to let go,

You let go.

Sometimes I like to witness the thoughts or ideas that come through and moving onto a boat and they join the boat and sail away as you bring yourself back to center.

Just noticing,

Witnessing what may be arising with compassion,

Letting go of frustration or that it should be any different.

But trusting that it is exactly as it should be right now,

Giving yourself,

Honoring yourself,

Creating this discipline,

Reminding the mind that you are the master and that we don't have to get caught up in thoughts,

But we can bring ourself back to center for it to be a sacred moment.

We don't have to get caught up in thoughts,

But we can bring ourself back to center for it's when we're in this place we really tap into our wisdom,

Our innate knowing.

So often we search for things outside of us or feel like we need to know more,

Learn more.

And this is sometimes the ego's way of distracting us from what is the truth.

So witnessing that also with no judgment,

Continuing to breathe as deeply as you can into the diaphragm and exhaling through the mouth,

In through the nose and out through the mouth.

And as you reach this point of stillness,

Of calmness,

Maybe returning to your sacred word or simply turning the gaze within.

Breathing in,

And out.

And just for a second,

Tapping into all that you are grateful for.

You can say three things that come to mind which really allow you to appreciate the now.

Or the now that you are grateful for.

Or the now that without these things you wouldn't be where you are.

Everything is a lesson and a teacher if not always we see it in the moment,

But there are many things to be grateful no matter how small or big.

And bringing your awareness back to your body,

Back to the sounds in the room.

And thanking yourself for giving yourself this space to be still in a busy world that is seeking to grab your attention constantly.

It's a special practice and a devotion to keep returning with no agenda,

No expectation,

But just trusting that by showing up in this way for you,

That indeed the answers will come,

The solutions will arise,

And you are your own guru,

You are your own teacher.

And surrendering,

Trusting in the unwinding.

And taking one last breath and bring yourself back to the now.
