When people are living in this self-centered world,
The self-centered view is dominating.
The self-centered view is also the utilitarian view.
So it is rather easy for such a mind to mistake the meditation as a tool or end.
Want to achieve something?
Why meditation?
Want to achieve peace?
Want to achieve calm?
I can make more money.
In that view,
Meditation goes wrong until one deeply sees clearly how this self-centered view is constructed.
In that doing,
One is really meditating.
Meditation is not about methods or systems or traditions.
It's not about the tricks one uses to bring the temporary peace or calm to the mind.
Meditation is to understand the life,
This total field of life,
Completely.
This understanding must be from our daily living,
To observe,
Learn from our daily activities,
See the force in our life.
The very seeing the force touches upon the truth.
Our life is built upon all kinds of thoughts,
Thought-product,
All kinds of mental construct.
We don't condemn thoughts.
Thoughts are really important.
Thoughts are part of the function of the brain,
But when the thoughts don't stay in the right place,
Thoughts create disorder.
And through disorder,
Thoughts create all kinds of havoc on the life,
On its world,
The earth,
The nature.
Thoughts can easily lead to illusions.
And without examining the thoughts carefully in life,
Life can be easily built upon the illusions.
To see the force in life is to see all kinds of illusions created by thoughts.
