In the life,
We have many things we want to do,
Influenced by the culture,
By the news,
By the media,
All kinds of justified desire,
Like the self,
The ego,
Has been justified in the Western civilization.
When one does what one wants to do,
One is inevitably enslaved to the thing one wants to do.
Such life brings about the conflicting energy,
Only making the mind turbulent.
We have to see this in ourselves,
To see the danger,
See the consequence of this living.
When one does what one loves to do,
The energy released is total,
There's no conflict,
And that energy keeps one doing what one loves.
Perhaps one loves many things,
Longing,
Cooking,
Painting.
The mind is not enslaved to anything.
The mind is free.
A free mind is a mind full of passion.
So to inquire into ourselves is to peel off all the burdens we have carried on over a long time,
From the tradition,
From the culture,
From all kinds of influence,
Ideology.
When all those have been removed,
The mind will be able to find the passion back.
A passionate mind is never confused.
A confused mind never finds passion.
So to live a passionate life is to set ourselves truly free.
Not caught up in the concept of the freedom,
But on the politics,
From the ideology.
But the mind is really free.
When the mind has no conflicts,
No divisions,
No dualities,
I put all my energy to set myself free.
The energy is being consumed without any conflict.
Such a life is really beautiful.
Every sentence,
One speaks,
Every gesture,
One makes,
Every action,
One takes.
It is beautiful.
So this whole journey,
No matter how you call it,
Meditation or whatever,
Is the thing that human beings have been seeking all the time.
But you can't seek it.
What we can do is just look.
To open the window,
To look,
The breeze will come in.
But we can't invite the breeze in.
We can't invite the passion in.
The only thing we can do is just look.
