Welcome to this meditation on self-love and a little bit of self-compassion.

Like always let's start with gathering ourselves,

Making ourselves as comfortable as possible for the next short while.

Taking some nice deep breaths in and letting go of any tension,

Any rush to get here.

Relaxing your shoulders,

Noticing your jaw,

Releasing any tension.

From both of those areas we hold a lot of tension.

Noticing your feet on the floor,

Your back against the chair and breathing in and giving yourself some gratitude for showing up,

Showing up for your time.

Your space.

You've already showed some self-love and self-compassion by making the time and space for this meditation.

So today we're going to practice a little bit of self-love and remind ourselves that it's not so difficult to love ourselves.

Self-love is not a linear process and some days we'll be good at it.

Some days we'll give ourselves more time,

More respect,

More space and others will find that practice very difficult and that's okay.

But our aim is to notice and to switch back in to the mode where we can give ourselves that love and compassion that we need.

So just noticing first of all your body and how it feels right now.

Does it feel soft and accepting of this topic or is there a little bit of resistance,

A little bit of discomfort?

And if there is,

Just notice it and thank your body for the information and let's just breathe in and release any discomfort,

Emotional or physical,

That's in your body right now.

Remembering that you are not your thoughts.

So when we have negative thoughts about ourselves,

When we are self-critical,

When we judge ourselves,

This is not who we are.

These are thoughts we have about ourselves and most of these thoughts that we have are not true.

Most of these thoughts come from our core wound,

A feeling of not being good enough,

A feeling of being unlovable.

And as we recognize any of these unuseful thoughts,

We notice them without judgment and we can allow ourselves to let them go just as they came.

And also to allow any of the emotion that may have surged,

To flow away again.

Breathing in and breathing out and releasing and letting go.

Now for a moment,

I want you to focus your breathing on your heart area.

Breathing into and out from your heart.

Steadying the rhythm of the in breath and the out breath.

And as we do this,

Call on feelings of appreciation and care.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Holding that feeling towards ourselves.

Just allowing this state,

Giving ourselves a little bit of care,

A little bit of appreciation and telling ourselves,

I accept myself for who I am.

I forgive myself for all my mistakes.

I am ready to let go of what no longer serves me.

Breathing into and out from the heart.

And repeat these affirmations.

I accept myself for who I am.

I forgive myself for my mistakes.

I am ready to let go of what no longer serves me.

Just allowing those words,

Those affirmations to seep into your mind.

Imagine them taking over,

Occupying the space where a lot of negative thoughts used to be.

I forgive myself for my mistakes.

I forgive myself for my mistakes.

Breathing into and out from the heart,

Allowing that forgiveness to wash through your brain,

To come down into your body,

Spreading out through your body.

Forgiveness.

I forgive myself.

That forgiveness,

That compassion to wash all over you.

Breathing in and breathing out.

I accept myself for who I am.

Visualize those words coming into your brain,

Taking up space.

I accept myself for who I am.

Washing around,

Spreading through all of your brain,

Coming down into your body.

I accept myself for who I am.

Allowing that self-acceptance to wash right through you.

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Keeping that love and appreciation for yourself.

I accept myself for who I am.

And now I am ready to let go of what no longer serves me.

I am ready to let go of what no longer serves me.

Breathing in and on the out-breath,

Releasing and letting go of what no longer serves you.

Allowing a wave to wash through you and allow all of what no longer serves you to leave your body right now.

Letting go of those thoughts.

Letting go of those emotions.

Breathing in,

Breathing out and letting go.

I am ready.

I am ready to let go of what no longer serves me.

Allow it.

Releasing.

Breathing in and breathing out and letting go.

One more nice big deep breath in and on the exhale,

Releasing that last bit.

Letting go.

I forgive myself for my mistakes.

I accept myself for who I am.

And today as I walk into this beautiful and special day,

I give myself permission to be exactly who I am.

Thank you for sharing this time and space with me and I wish you a beautiful day.
